Yours, Mine… or Ours?

Yours, Mine… or Ours? by Karen Templeton

• Great story.

• Sequel to Dear Santa (#1864) this story follows Mia’ brother Rudy as he and his 12-year-old daughter start over in New Hampshire. Rudy has bought a run down bed and breakfast house. He totally sees it’s potential once it’s refurbished. His daughter, Stacy, sees it as the end of her life as she knows it.

• Violet is trying to make ends meet by working as a waitress at a diner. Her husband walked out on her and their two sons two years ago. She notices Rudy when he walks into the diner, and nearly goes into shock when she learns that he bought the old house. But I won’t tell you why.

An ex cop, Rudy feels protective of Violet when he learns of her situation. When he also learns that she used to work at the former B&B before the owner died, he hires Violet to work for him. What he doesn’t know about the Inn business, she does. They’d make a good team. Rudy is attracted, and after being a single father for 11-1/2 years, he’s ready to try another relationship. Violet isn’t.

A very good story told with KT’s usual humor and poignant insight into what makes people tick. I read that KT is writing for the youth genre. Her scenes from the 12-year old’s point of view show her ability to write for that age.

April Mini Challenge: It’s raining Men

This is Rudy’s story. So he not only fits the story, he is the story. He’s perfect for the heroine. He’d suit me, too! The cover picture doesn’t exactly fit my image of Rudy. I see him as more rugged, a little bigger, a little broader. I can’t think of any particular actor I would cast as Rudy.

The next book in the series

The next book in the series - Kevin's story is definately my favorite, are you planning on reading that one as well?
