What are you reading now

For those of you new to the boards, this is the place to share with fellow readers the book you just picked up and have a hard time putting down...or the one you want to throw against the wall; the book you plan on starting tonight...or the one you've just finished and have added to your keeper shelves.

So, come on in and tell us -- what are you reading now? (And
please remember to list title *and* author so we can all find the book you're raving about!)

We're dedicating it to our very own Cathie Linz, who started us off in the first place, way back when eHarlequin first began having discussions for fans of romance.

woo hoo I'm the first post!

I love that we can bookmark now. Cool

I've got a few going at once presently, which is nothing out of the ordinary for me. LOL In audio in the car is Pandora's Daughter by Iris Johansen. In audio on my MP3 Player is Blood Ties Book 3: Ashes to Ashes by Jennifer Armintrout. In eBook format is Night's Eternal Promise by Julie D'Arcy. And in print is Sins of the Flesh by Devyn Quinn

New look and books

Hi everyone--

This is really a new look. It took me a little while to find this thread.

Anyway, I'm still reading High Country Bride but will soon be finished. LLM's books are usually quick reads because they are hard to put down!Wink

Hey, I found us.  I am

Hey, I found us.  I am still not real sure where we are, but it is on my favorites list now, so I think it will be easy to find.  I hope everyone finds their way back to here.  I am currently reading - Moving Target by Lori May (part of the Athena Force books) it is good, but I just go the last Whitney Lyles book - Then Came :Love and I want to read it so I am hoping to finish this up soon.

Cady

Phew...

Hey Everyone,

I'm Happy to see you were able to find the thread. if you need anything just give me a holler!

I love the bookmarking option also ! ..

I just finished 2 Diane Pershing SIM's

... and of course I loved them.  She's one of the authors that was a definite treasure found during the Challenge last year.

The two books ~ Whispers in the Night and Whispers and Lies ~ are related by the h's in each, but stand alone very well.

Next book up:  Stephanie Rowe; Stress & the City (Flipside #13)  So far, I've been giggling.

Hello everyone!

Do i look lost? Cause i am, very!  lol

I was lucky enough to stumble across a link Kelley left for here(WAYRN), thanx Kelley!...but here doesn't even resemble here anymore. Guess i'll just keep looking around till this new site starts to come together for me.

I finished The Bride Thief, by Jacquie D'Alessandro on the way to PG today, and am now reading Dying To Please, by Linda Howard.

Nice to see some familiar faces here, ttys.

Off i go to get lost a little more before bed, :) , Kathy

I found it!!!

Hi everyone

I have finally found the thread but only by accident. The old way was so much clearer and where is the spell check? Without that i'll be limited to words that I know I can spell and that's awful. I felt like crying when I thought that I had lost you all.

Nadia- I read your message on the other site. I am glad that you had a reasonable Christmas. I cannot begin to imagine what you have been through. I'm sure that the councilling will be a great help. Its what we hide and don't talk about that can cause the trouble in future years. Unthinking people won't be able to catch your gd unawares because of the help you've got her now.

I hope that everyone has a good week. Janet

Well, it looks like we are

Well, it looks like we are all slowly making our way back, reminds me of after a big storm and everyone slowly comes out side.  Smile  I think I am getting the hang of the site and it seems like it will work well.  I still am not sure about the team thing, but hey, I am sure I will figure that out as well.  Still reading the Athena Force book.  Hope everyone has a good Wednesday.

Hi back Margie!

*waves back to Margie*
Sorry to hear (or is that see?) that you're having some difficulty.

Now all I need is to get off the board for awhile and sit and read.. although I AM reading... just blogs, not books.  And we all know what happens with too much blog reading right?
I end up with MORE books!  Tongue out

I finally found it too!

I found us!

I  finished Snowfall At Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs and loved it!  Overall I've been totally enthralled with this series, and hope it lasts a good long time.

Last night I found out that Sherryl Woods is going to be releasing another title in her Sweet Magnolia series, which is great because that's another favorite!

Now I'm reading Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah and not wanting to put it down.  I'm so relieved that I'm loving this because her last book Magic Hour just didn't do it for me.

Hi Back to you, KathyD

Hi KathyD - yes it is a bit confusing.  I sent you an email with some info that I found to make it a bit easier to set myself up.  Thought you might like it too.  I don't know if we'll be a team after all but the thought was good and being friends is okay too! BTW - I re-read DTP - it was just as good as the first time around.  You'll enjoy it!

 Talk to you soon!

new here

So many places to go to. I don't know where to post and what comments to leave. Laughing

I'm reading The Healing Place by Leigh Bale right now. It's a Love Inspired. Seems to be a good one, at least the first 60 pages are. And it's the author's debut release!

Next I've got Shana Abé's The Smoke Thief and Susan Wiggs' The Winter Lodge. I only know Susan Wiggs' historicals, so I'm very curious.

Right now I am reading

Right now I am reading Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. I saw the movie and I wanted to read the book and so far it is good. I still have a long way to go before I am finished though but hopefully I will be done soon Smile

I am glad I found everyone

Last night I read Hired Gun by Bobbi Smith, in large print from the library.....good historical / western.

Made friends with the neighbor lady and we went to some thrift stores yesterday.....Got my new grand neice 2 outfits and some material to make a "spring" table runner.....

I hope that I learn my way around the new digs...

Take care everyone...Lisa

table runner?

What is a "spring" table runner? And how do you make one? I'm curious Smile

Hi everyone, ellemac,

Hi everyone,

ellemac, Thanx, i'm hanging in. The last big site renovations were kinda scary, but eventually came to feel just like home...and this one being a complete site change, i was expecting it to be even crazier, but other than having a lost feeling, which i know is temporary, hmmm( well, i guess that depends on who you talk to Undecided Tongue out) , anyway, it will all come together eventually here too i'm sure. Smile

Great example Cady, Feels exactly like a big storm blew thru here, and now we all gotta rebuild.

Margie, How frustrating for you! I hope your computer problems are resolved real soon.

Hi KathyK, Dying To Please is picking up now, but was slow gettin going for me. I've read so many positive reviews for this one, i'm looking forward to getting into it more...but i can see getting away from playing on here, being a little tricky. Laughing

Hi ElleJay, I didn't see your e-mail till this afternoon, but am having fun stumbling around and walking into walls. I think the stumbling around helps it stick better later anyways. Nice to see you at WAYRN. It's a very addictive thread with a wonderfull group of ladies.

Just wanted to tell you that the Wiggs book is the second in the series.  The order is:

Summer at Willow Lake

The Winter Lodge

Dockside

Snowfall at Willow Lake(coming in Feb. 2008)

I really enjoy this series.

Made it back!

Hi everyone--

It still takes a little longer to get here but it looks like people are finding their way here. Laughing There are some new people--welcome!

I finished 'High Country Bride' by Linda Lael Miller. It was very good and a quick read for me. I am now reading 'Wild Swan' by Celeste de Blasis. I never read any of her books but have recently discovered them. I know she passed away some time ago so the books are hard to find. Anyway it is good so far!

Mary Cool

Hey Everyone!

I found us!  Smile  I'm so happy because this is one of my favorite threads to visit with my friends.  The new site is going to take some getting used to but we will all be pros soon!  For me, there will some challenges along with it.

Cady, hosty Lorie, has a post somewhere that said she has been climbing mountains with the changes.  She is working on getting the teams set up and will email us.

When I come back later or tomorrow I can see how the favorites works.  I added two today.  Does anyone know where Nada posted?  I'd love to see what she had to say.  I've been keeping her in my prayers.  What happened is just unimagineable except in a book.

So far I have finished 3 books for the year and got them posted.  They are: She's No Angel by Leslie Kelly, At Your Command by Julie Miller & Doing Ireland by Kate Hoffmann all very enjoyable & all on the Challenge blogs.

See you next time.

Take care, happy reading,

Donna - I think it was in

Donna - I think it was in the Ask Sapphire thread under the Cafe Social folder.  One neat trick with your favorites, just go to the side button for your favorites and it will let you know if any have new posts.  I like that.  Still reading Moving Target, as I have been spending too much time here playing.  Smile

Susan Wiggs

Thanks Sandi!

I've got Winter Lodge and Dockside at my place. I don't think I have the patience to wait for Summer at Willow Lake to arrive should I order it now. Does it matter, do I have to read them in order or will I still be able to enjoy them?

Susan Wiggs

Berlin, you should be able to read out of order, but I would wait!  Each book helps set up the next one.

Hi Everyone

I think I figured out the problem of why I could not get into the comment box. Under the box is said "disable rich-text" in blue letters. I clicked on that and it switched to enabled and I could get into the comment box!!!!

However, I have no smilies or any of the fun options like color, italic, etc. I don't understand what is going on.

Any way, it is good to be able to post this. I have to go out right now but I'll be back later to comment on the books I've read so far this year.

It's nice to see old and new faces. I decided to change my avatar because the old one was fuzzy. I'm not sure if I will keep this one. I like it for now so we'll see.

See you later. I hope!

Hi everyone,

Margie, It's great to see you able to leave comments now!  I'm sure that's a huge relief.  I've no idea how to help you with the things  that are still missing for you...but i'll sure be watching for any information givin you...I have lots to learn here.

Well, not much reading taking place here today, i'm spending so much time on here playing and learning.

Kathy D

Yeah!!!!

Man, I sooooo need to be more computer literate.  Finding things is going to be a killer for me.  I am betting the "add favs" will be my best ally on here.  Now I just have to figure out how to put a pic on here.  Love what everyone else has up.

So I finished Underneath It All by Lori Borrill today.  Its the 2nd book in the Million Dollar Sercrets series (blaze).  I blogged about (figured out how to do that pretty quick - woo hoo!!!).  I'm hoping to start the next one in the series before going to bed.

Have to ask, has anyone else been having crazy weather?  I can't believe how warm its been here this week.  Its usually cold and there's a good chance of snow.  It was like this either last year or the year before.  I won't complain though - I've had to many cold and snowy b'days - I'll take thisSmile  Of course, the bad part is most of the people I know are sick - including my mom (upper respitory infection) and my aunt who I saw on New Years (walking pneumonia).  I really feel for everyone that's been sick.

Ok, blabbed long enough.  Hope everyone has a good rest of the week.

Amanda

Everyone can afford to give away a smile!

DFW Plus - Come see what we are reading!

Hi Ladies!

Hi Ladies, I'm still trying to figure out how the blog are works. I think I read somewhere that there will be a list of participants but, if not, or at least for now, it is nice to see most making there way here just to talk. I've only read three books since the 1st but that is pretty good for me. I decided my first book was going to be WHERE DREAMS BEGIN by Lisa Kleypas. I enjoyed this book. Not as much as MINE TILL MIDNIGHT but it was good. I'm looking forward to the the siblings books from MTM. LK's website has the sister getting her book next and I really want to read that one. Then I read PRINCE OF SWORDS by Linda Winstead Jones. This was the last in the trilogy of the Fyne children. It was good and I can see that LWJ left some room for future books. My most current read was THE RIVER KNOWS by Amanda Quick. I liked it. It was not as good as some of her other Quick books but still good. Now to go blog them. I was bad and haven't read a eHarl book but I am right now. It is called FULL EXPOSURE by Diana Duncan. Love her books. Margie :)

Still struggling

Hi everyone

Although I can just about get here ( which is the really important bit) the Profile is driving me nuts. There was a note that mrsa had asked to be added to my friends, and I don't have the foggyest what to do, I clickked on what I thought was the right button and it all disappeared! If i've clicked the wrong button I am sorry. The answer is of course yes. I really look forward to reading the comments each day. This is such a friendly site.

Our weather is all over the place too. We have hydrangers trying to come out and apple blossom in December and the usual ice and frost in November didn't happen to kill off all the bugs.

I know in the scheme of things that this change isn't that important but it has made me feel really anxious and out of my depth. Still better stop mow to go into Christchurch and do some shopping.

Oh by the way I've almost read two books so far a Harlequin which was recommended here last year by Sophie Weston (I think) which I loved and a Leslie Kelly with the word Suite in the Title which is also very good.

I would like to join the 100,000 book read but since the site has changed I don't know how to do it and it seems a worth while way to make your reading help others. Can anyone help me!

Hope you all have a good day   Janet

spring table runner

Hello Berlin

By spring table runner I am refering to making a table runner with a "spring" design to it......not sure if it will be butterflies or something else.....In November I made "winter" runners shapped like mittens....made 8 total for family and friends.....  I got light color fabric some with flowers on, even some flowered pillow cases to use....I do not do a lot of sewing so will take me a little bit of thinking to plan this project.

Thanks for asking and showing an interest.   Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for explaining! I looked for table runners online and found lots of pictures. I'm not familiar with table runners or at least not with the ones with elaborate designs.

Right now I'm reading...

...Elizabeth Rolls' A Compromised Lady.  I found ER during last year's challenge and was floored by the first book that I read His Lady Mistress.  Wonderful emotional tone with a moving and beautiful story.  And everything that I've read since just confirms this.
She's definitely on my Need-to-find-all-backlist-books-List!

Amanda – the weather here

Amanda – the weather here has been crazy, we had almost thirty inches of snow in December and almost all of it is gone, we had a tornado just south of us on Monday and now they are expecting 3 to 5 inches of snow tonight.  Crazy

Kathy – I think all of our reading has to be down, with all of us experimenting and playing on the site.  I am hoping to finish the book I am reading today.

Margie – Glad to see you are able to post here now.  I too, am looking forward to the next LWJ book, I don’t think it comes out until May or so.

Janet – If you click on the Book Challenge in the Forum section, there is a spot to contact Lorie, just let her know you want to sign up and she will set you up.  The reviews are a fun way to stay connected.

Welcome to all the new folks, it is great to see so many people posting in here.

Still reading my Athena Force book, have been playing around here too much.  I have to take Luke to the Doctor’s tomorrow, just a spot that hasn’t healed – they want him to come in of course to check it out.  The biggest pain is the earliest appointment I could get was 9:45.  I think I will take him in to Daycare and then come back and get him so I can get some work done in between.

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday.

Cady

Cady, experimenting and reading blogs...

...really can interfere with reading my book... but all's well with that all the same.  Of course the three little 'uns around affects my ability to just sit and read as well.  Bu either / any way, It's so nice to have our eHar challenge blogs and the like back... and I'm really enjoying figuring out just what it is that I'm trying to do!

Catching up!

Good Morning,

Well it is for another minute here on the west coast!  Where has the morning gone!

Each time I come to the new site I learn something new & find more of my friends & favorite threads.  I agree with Cady, the time I spend here is keeping me from reading!!  Once I'm more familar with everything it won't be so time consuming.  I'm reading my fourth book for the year.  Yesterday I had to do some shopping & that cut a chunk out of my day.

The favorites buttons are so helpful.  Now I can just click on that to come to my favorite places.  One thing I don't like is that you don't start at the place on the thread where you last posted.  Hopefully you can figure out what I mean by that!! Smile

We will all learn more & more from each other & all the hosty's are very helpful with questions.

This is it for now.  I have to go check out some more threads.  Have a great day.

Take care, happy reading,

Need title to a Cathie Linz book

Cathie, I found two books by you in two Duets.  They are about the Best Brothers.  I just read the one about Cord, about to start the one about Reno.  But the one about Zane, I don't have.  Can you tell me the title so I know what I am looking for?  Is it in a Duet book too?

 Thanks for your help.

Sandi, I am so jealous

You have to share! :) I would love to be able to post book covers. At least the ones for this site since I assume they are easier to do???

Emilie, Nice to see you made it here. I was using an old link the other day and it wasn't working. Then I finally got here and have not stopped exploring. My profile or whatever it is called has a bug so it is just a pain to post because I have to do more steps but at least I figured out how to do that. You can add What Are You Reading Now to the My Favorites on your blog. There is a button next the the Add a Comment button at the top of this list.

I'm still reading Full Exposure. Actually, I think I won't be getting much reading done since I want to explore some more. I'm sure that there must be an easier way then the way I am doing it to catch up with everyone on the boards. :)
