Book Signings
by Jayne-eHarlequin on May 9th, 2009, 7:22pm

Author Michelle Willingham had a great suggestion for us to create a thread where authors could post their tour and book signing information. That way our authors can post their travel dates and tip off community members as to what city they'll be in and when.
So here it is!

Wish we'd
had this like last week so others would've known about the multi-author signing today in Hurst, Texas. Cindy Dees, Karen Whiddon, Jillian (Juliet) Burns, Candace Havens, Karen Kelley, Celya Bowers or Kennedy Shaw were all there and it was a lot of fun.

Kayla Perrin
I did see that Kayla Perrin did a pre-Mother's Day signing today at theBorders Express at the Boulevard Mall in Amherst, NY. I imagine she probably left some signed books at the store, so you could probably still go get a book for a special Mother's Day gift.
Let's try to encourage folks to post their signings, worldwide, because you never know who might be able to make it! I think my next booksigning will likely be at the Literacy Reception at RWA Nationals in D.C.

And thanks for putting it forward Michelle!
On May 23rd, I'm participating in an author event called Romancing The Book, hosted by the Keshen Goodman Library in Halifax, NS. It's not a signing as such - we don't have books to sell, but there will be book giveaways and other free goodies and readers are also encouraged to bring any backlist they might want signed. It's an author panel and there will be time allotted for simply "meet and greet" after we each talk a bit and answer questions.
It's from 1-4 p.m. and there are lots of Harlequin authors going to be in attendance. Of course I will be there as well as Stella MacLean, Deborah Hale, Cathryn Fox and Harlequin Historicals-turned-single title Julianne MacLean.
There are nine authors in total from 12 different publishers. :-)

Hey all HH authors
Don't forget to let me know when you are doing book signings. I can help spread the word in our social media pages! You can email me at kimberlyswiderski@gmail.com I'll add this thread to my favorites but I can't guarantee to remember to check it when I have a busy week and I would hate to miss something like I missed Anne's book signing yesterday.

Hi, all!
Great idea, but would you guys mind a suggestion? What about putting this in calendar form? That way the authors can input the signings on specific dates with their locations etc and readers can click on the dates they are free and see if there are any signings in their area? Reading all those dates/locations etc made my head spin. <G>
And for the record, there will be a HUGE author signing at Lori Foster and Dianne Castell's Reader Get Together June 5-7. It's not too late to register. The signing is on Saturday. Check out Lori's website for more information.

This is going to be very helpful. There's nothing worse than finding out about an event after the fact, so I love how this seems to be a great way to announce events. I can't wait to see some authors in the metro Detroit or southwestern Ontario areas. I'll be sure to post any of my upcoming events as well.
Great idea! Thanks for getting this started.

Metro Detroit reading/signing - today!
Okay, so it's a bit last minute to share... but I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to attend this event. Turns out I am so if anyone in the Metro Detroit area is looking for some literary fun this evening (May 29th, 2009), I will be at the Poets Follies event at Grosse Pointe Art Center on Kercheval. Their website is here.
There are a few regional poets and novelists reading this evening, and I plan on reading some poetry and an excerpt from my past Silhouette novels (The Profiler and Moving Target). I will have signed copies on hand, so drop by and introduce yourself if you are in the area. The event begins at 7pm and is likely 90 minutes or so.
Feel free to email me at lori@loriamay.com for more info, or drop by my website for future readings/signings.
Hope to see you there!

I know it's a bit in advance, but I figured better early than late!
On Friday September 25th, I'll be launching my latest release, stains: early poems by Lori A. May, at a wonderful event hosted by the Grosse Pointe Artist Center in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The event will feature readings from me, several local authors, and there will also be a musical performance (thankfully, not by me).
I'll be signing my books (including copies of my Silhouette releases Moving Target and The Profiler) and would love to see some Harlequin readers. If you're in the Metro Detroit area, please stop by and introduce yourself!
More details will be posted soon on my website and through my newsletter, but you're more than welcome to email me for info.
