Introduce Yourself
It can be difficult finding your way around new surroundings, but here at eHarlequin, newcomers are always welcome.
Come on in and introduce yourself -- you'll find the regulars to be a warm and friendly group, and you're sure to fit right in, in no time!
See you on the boards!

Hi, My name is Woody and I'm...
Well, gee, just who am I anyway? Who I am now is who I've always been, but someone you've never seen completely.
An Ogre is like an onion... (Well, OK, that's someone else...)
I do have layers, though:
Just don't ask me which one is the top layer at any given time!

Hey Woody Nice to meet you
Nice to meet you ! You should check out my flickr site and see my photos !!
Finally, I made it back!
Hello to everyone!
I'm guessing not many people come into the "Introduce Yourself" forum much.... I had to come in here, I'm lost!
Well, I am re-introducing myself too, since it has been forever since coming in to eharl.
I have changed names etc, as I found my old self too boring, and I think since my life has changed... why not change my details on here.
Anyway, a few of you might have know me as "Mel" the Aussie that used to wander in here occasionally.
I think I have tried coming back in a few times but kept getting side-tracked. I have 5 kids!! That'll be my excuse.... but I do plan on hangin' around if you'll help me find my way thru this maze of forums...?
I look forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones!

Aloha Sapph, Woody and Possum Mel:
Never did introduce my self, just started lurking and chiming in here and there. Mostly you'll find me in the gal pal corral.
I was born and raised in Hawaii. Never lived anywhere else. In fact never left the state until I was 21! Love the beach and the mountains. I live on the Big Island in the town of Volcano but work on Oahu in the town of Kane'ohe. Needless to say, I am a frequent flyer! I'm usually at home Thursday evenings through Monday mornings. I have one son who is 13 and sometimes acts like he's 3 and other times acts like he's 40! He and my DH muddle along together while I'm away...
Maybe I'll see you around the boards...
a hui hou (ah hoo-ee hoe = until we meet again)
Hi guys!
Hi Woody & Papaya!!
Hawaii sounds delightful.... my dh and I still haven't had a honeymoon yet.... hmmm just a thought! LOL
Woody, Welcome to the world of romance!
The Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed ~~~~ Poss
I'm not sure if I have every Introduced myself to anyone!
This is sort of scary, cause I'm only 13. Plus I feel like the shyest person on earth. I know I'm not,but it feels that way. Here are a few things about me:
1.) I love reading, ecspecially romance
2.) I love to write, sometimes even a good short story
3.) I love my Mother and Sister
4.) My friends are like my family, I love them very much
5.) Music is very speical to me,I can't go through the day without it
6.) I am a really good student, considering I'm in Junior High
7.) I would love to meet new people and try to come out of my shyness spell.

Hi Mary Kay,
Nice to meet you ! I started to read romance novels at your age. If you need anything feel free to post in ask sapphire !
Hi, my name is Angel and I am new!
I have no picture up yet because I dropped my digital camera and I don't know how to put up a picture anyway! My hubby is in Honduras for the next 6 months and is the tech geek in the house so I may not have a picture for a while.
I thought I better post as a friend of mine told me I don't want to look like a lurker(?) I have just been looking around the site trying to get my bearings.
I am looking forward to getting to know some of you ladies and gents. I already e-mailed a new author and she was gracious enough to e-mail me back! I am new to boards but I have seen flaming and making fun of others on other boards and was afraid to post. I have noticed that everyone here seems friendly and encouraging. I hope to be so as well.
Have a great day! Angel

Another newbie saying hello!
Hi! I'm new to this site, but hope to make many friends here. I love to read everything and have often written stories that I never dreamed of allowing anyone else to see. I decided to take my writing a bit more seriously and signed up for a writing class. Now I'm working on a romance novel that I hope to send in. This looks like a fun place to "hang my hat" so to speak!

RE: INTRODUCE YOURSELF
Hello!
I'm HockeyJock (A.K.A. known as Marty). What makes me different from most of the other posters here at eHarlequin is that I'm a guy To me, Harlequins are great books, and many of the imprints are perfect for guys to read. (Matter of fact, I subscribe to two imprints in Reader Services). I've been divorced three years now. I have two grown sons that remained with me (to stay in the school system they've been part of for years). I was U.S. Marine (worldwide), then a Truck Driver, then a Dock Supervisor (stateside). Not obsessed with the idea, but hope maybe to meet the right "girl" again.

Hi Michelle and HockeyJock.
Great to see more military folks here. Michelle you didn't say what branch of service your hubby retired from?
HockeyJock, marines are a breed all their own. My friend is married to one. My husband and I went to a party at their home in Biloxi a few years ago and we were the only air force people there. All the guys could say to my husband when they found out he was AF was 'why?' (I didn't bring up that I had just gotten out. Didn't want to bring attention to myself!)
Welcome and I hope to talk to you on the boards.

Thank YOu all for your answers bye
Thank you and
my husband was Army (Infantry) and had two tours to Iraq! I'm sooo glad he is out.
Welcome to the other newbies!
Angel...
LOL... usually it;s us JARHEADS that get made fun of! I do have one question for you, though. Concerning the AirForce: WHY??? HeeHeeHee

I grew up in Vegas by Nellis Air Force Base and always thought planes were cool. Also, USAF basic training is the easiest and we don't run as much as the other services!
My husband is in Honduras with the Army at Soto Cano and he gets all his troops out there to run with the Army so they can earn some respect down there. He told me one thing he likes about the Army is that their troops seem to treat SNCO's with more respect than the AF troops do. (?)

Hi everyone, I'm new...
I usually just lurk on the boards here, but I've finally decided to come out of hiding and post. I've been reading a lot of Nocturne's lately, and I'm seriously thinking about submitting to Harlequin. I figured this would be the best place to get a feel for the community and to ask questions. Currently I'm only epublished, and I wonder just how different it is to venture into print. Hopefully I'll be able to learn a lot through the forums. Nice to meet you all!

Another Newbie
I don't usually join forums because I really don't have a lot of extra time. But, I have decided to join this forum because I have been shopping on eharlequin.com for quite a few years now. I love my romance novels. I just wanted to say hello! The reason I don't have a lot of time right now is because I work full time and three small boys at home ages 9, 5 and almost 2 and a wonderful husband of course. My romance reads are my escape from the daily pressures. They take me somewhere else. Thanks and hello to everyone!
I've been called Insane;)
Insane<-- that's me or at least people tend to throw that comment my way when I share how much is on my plate*laughs* I am married and a mother of four. I also work part-time as a security guard, play an online game called Runescape and I love to spend time writing romance.
When I fill people in on my life their jaws generally drop and they ask how on earth I find the time to do everything. My response is if there is something you want to do, you do what you can to make it happen.
I've always loved to write and recently decided to try to finish my novel. Hopefully it will be ready to send off to be critiqued shortly. My rough draft is complete, which still absolutely amazes me:O. At the moment I'm currently revising it.
If you're still working on completing your first novel, don't ever give up. If you really want to finish it you will! The one thing life has taught me is, if you really want something you gotta go after it will all your might and never give up. If you have enough desire to see it through nothing will be able to stop you.
I look forward to meeting you all.
Take care,
Patricia

Hi all! I'm by no means a newbie, but wanted to stop in and see all of you who are.
My name's April, and I've been around eHQ for more than 8 years. There are so many fun and amazing people here, I'm sure you all will just be jumping in to the discussions in no time.
I'm normally found in the Gal Pal Corral (Papaya's a regular, and Woddy's already stopped in there, so it's an everyone Pal Corral), and I also check out the online read threads. I've become friends with some amazing authors on these threads (the Corral was started with author Tina Leonard had a great online read discussion with us). Feel free to pop in the Corral anytime! Don't just lurk, join in. Everyone there is awesome! If you want, you can even ride the mechanical bull and bring your own cowboy or cowgirl along for the fun. You'll find us under FORUMS, then click on CAFE SOCIAL, then SOCIAL DISCUSSIONS, which is where you'll find the link for the CORRAL!
I'm also a CSI fanatic, and so far, I think I'm the only one who's posted on that thread in this new format. (I know, the writer's strike doesn't help, but it may be over soon!)
Anywho, if you're interested, you can click on the blue 'meapey' above to learn more about me. It has 2 links on there, one for MySpace and the other for Facebook. I check MySpace several times a day, but am only on Facebook a few times a month, as one of my friends from S. Africa is on there only.
Again, welcome, and can't wait to see you all around!
Hugs,
April

Hello, Happy Valentine's Day!
Greetings and Happy Valentine's Day to everyone,
Me: Stay-at-home mom, elected official, quilter, moviegoer, musician, freelance writer, gamer, amateur chef, book devourer, part-time wino, Johnny Depp groupie...the order changes often. ;)
Why: I've been writing since the age of 8 when I got an antique typewriter for my birthday...got serious about it in 2000, but have had a "dry spell" for the past 2 years and I'm trying to get my groove back, get inspired and rejuvenated as well as meet some writing buddies so we can encourage and learn from each other.

Hello everyone! After
Hello everyone! After looking around this community I thought I'd
join in, it seems like a big group of intelligent, interesting and kind
people here :) My name is Stephanie, and I have a serious book
addiction. I also live for films, am way too obsessed with sushi and I
love to write. Romance novels are a great escape for me, I'm
open-minded but lately I've fallen in love with historicals (especially
Loretta Chase, Julia Quinn, Elizabeth Hoyt and Lisa Kleypas) and well-written
paranormals. Some of my faves include MaryJanice Davidson's "Queen
Betsy" series, J.R. Ward, Victoria Laurie, Charlaine Harris (all her
series rock) I LOVE mysteries, I'm even a subscriber to the Hard Case
Crime series :) I love all kinds of books but if they mix sincere
emotion with true comedy then I'm smitten.
I'm really looking forward to meeting new friends here, thank you for your time!
Hello...
... I was one of the challenge bloggers last year and managed to read 476 books ~ not counting re-reads, which I confess to doing on a regular basis. There's just something about going back to a book that I've loved enough to keep. Of course my keepers now number, if not 2000, very close to that.
I'm married to a wonderful guy, Joe ~ 24 years this past December ~ and we have four children. Three of them are adults ~ son Stephen 23; daughter Lisa, 22 and daughter Meagan, 20 ½. Our youngest, Teresa, is 15 ½. Meagan and Teresa celebrate their birthdays at the end of June; June 30 and June 29, respectively. Meagan is five years less a day older than our "baby"... and I say that teasingly. As of last January we only have two of our kids still living at home; the two youngest. Meagan's in her 3rd year of college and Teresa's in grade 10 ~ criminy they grow up FAST!
Stephen has an apartment of his own and also works close to downtown here in Edmonton, Alberta.
Our daughter Lisa was living in Whitehorse, YT (Yukon Territory) for almost a year before she went to Egypt the beginning of 2008. She's there with her best friend, they share an apartment and plan to use Cairo as their base once they decide on traveling destinations. She's mentioned to me a couple / dozen times that she'll be there for a few years... YIKES! And I thought that Whitehorse was a long ways away. *sigh*
I'm a stay-at-home mom and have been since our son was born almost 24 years ago. Seventeen of those years I've also been providing childcare for various neighbours, people that I'd met through the school and referrals. Now, however, I babysit for people that know people that I used to babysit for. Presently I'm looking after 3 children: Tristan, 2¾ and his sister Charlie, 1 and they are here between two and three days a week. Braeden is 2½ and, so far an only child, and he's here 3 days a week. Then I have another sister-brother pair after school some days: Amanda, now 10 and Jordan, 6. I've had Amanda for 9½ years, so they're veterans! LOL Needless to say it's been a few years since I've had little ones running around ~ they do take a lot of energy and I seem to have forgotten that.
A-nyway... I've been around for over a year now, and I'm just now discovering more about this community. Slowly I'm finding my way here and there... and I do tend to lurk some... but I will make an honest attempt to be less a stranger that I've been hitherto.
OH, and in case you haven't noticed? I can run on... and on... and on.... So if I get on your nerves, just give me a nudge and I'll do my best to behave.
OH... BTW (and this is pretty typical of me)... my id here is kalyko, but my name is Kathy. However, due to the number of other Kathys here (and they're all with a "K".. how 'bout that!?) I've decided to forego using Kathy K in my signature line... mainly because there's also another Kathy K *waves to KK* who belongs to this illustrious community.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Have looked in on the writer challenge forum and am wondering where do I send my entry, should I wish to participate? I feel somewhat lost and confused because there is so much to choose from.

Hello, everyone. I'm Carrie. I just registered yesterday and am hoping to meet lots of other book-loving peeps! No one I know IRL loves to read and write as much as I do, and whenever I start talking about books, I can see their eyes slowly glaze over.
(I might cause lots of eyes to glaze over on here, but at least I won't have to see it. ;)
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all. :)

Hello,
I am new to the site. I have been looking around for a while now, but have never posted before. I am a mother of 4 from Michigan. I would love to one day submit my story that I'm working on, Provided I ever finish it! I have always dreamed of being a published writer, so I hope to make some friends, get some advice, and gain some skills here.
