Bread Machine Recipes

Seems like the recipe forum isn't very popular but thought I'd post here anyway.  I love using our bread machine but the basic recipes that came with the machine are a bit boring.  If anyone has some favorite bread machine recipes to share, I'd love to have them.

brenda, I have a client who brings me bread everyweek so I've stopped using the machine. But he brings me a wonderful bread that comes in rolls, french bagguette style and also regular bread. Try a french or italian bread recipe, using whole wheat or multi grains and add walnuts small pieces not large but not ground fine either, some raisins and a little sugar and cinnamon

this is not real sweet but do it to taste. You can do it to taste sweeter. My husband's fav is the long loaf cut into slices and spread with liberal sweet butter. It's like dessert.

French Breakfast Puffs

Omg, I made these for my kids and they gobbled them up! The recipe is from my Taste of Home Cookbook. I didn't roll them all in the butter and cinnamon - only the ones they were eating at the time. I put the rest of the puffs in the fridge, saved the cinnamon-sugar mixture in a Tupperware bowl and saved the melted butter to be remelted another time.

French Breakfast Puffs

Ingredients:
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup sugar, divided
1 egg
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
6 tablespoons butter, melted

Directions:

In a small mixing bowl, beat shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and egg until smooth. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; add to the sugar mixture alternately with milk.

Fill greased muffin cups two-thirds full. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan.

Meanwhile, combine cinnamon and remaining sugar in a shallow bowl. Roll the warm puffs in butter, then in cinnamon-sugar. Serve immediately.

Yield: 1 dozen.
