Hi everyone!  I have finally emerged from my post-book slump and everything is new and shiny!

I found yesterday that my ninth book was accepted and is a Nov 08 release. A Question of Impropriety. It is my title, so I am doubly pleased. It is only the second time that I have been allowed to my title.

Now all I have to do is to finsh the sequel!

Sad news from the Batcave. Valerie's husband, Paul, passed away peacefully this afternoon.

The CH was a part of all of Valerie's posts whether she mentioned him or not.  I'm so sad at the news.  I remember when she had ordered him the whole Sharpe dvd collection and was keeping it a secret.

I believe I've lost her mailing address but if anyone has it could you e-mail it to me offlist?

Hi MP-ers, Bron from the BatCave here.

I'll be going to Canberra tomorrow for the funeral on Friday. As the mail can take a long time to wing from one side of the world to another, I've invited the Bats to email me pdf or Word .docs with messages for Valerie, and I'll print them out on nice paper and put them into a book and give it to her when I get there.

Mouse and Pen folk are very welcome to contribute, also, if you wish. My email address is bronwyn dot clarke at  gmail dot com

I have a colour printer, so images, colours, nice fonts etc are fine. A4 or US letter size is fine. I'll print them out on nice paper and include then in the book. If you could send them to me in the next 24 hours or so, I'd appreciate it. (A few coming later is fine, but as I'll be travelling and staying at my folks in Canbra, I'd rather not be rushing at the last minute.)

I was lucky enough to meet Paul Parv  in person when I was in Sydney at the RWAus Conference.   I have some very special memories of that time - but the one that will always stay with me is the  way that he and Valerie were so much together - in spirit not just being together physically.  I was so so sorry to hear that he had lost his fight and I can only  begin to imagine how Valerie will feel his loss.

My thoughts and love are with her

Special con-flap-gration of bats is to be held in the In Memory of the Croc Hunter room on Thursday the 17th, 6 pm-8 pm US Eastern to fwap and toast the Croc Hunter.  

Thanks for details on the chat and also for the card as well Bronwyn. I've really been thinking of Valerie and haven't been able to get Amy Winehouse's song with her name out of my head for two days now.

 Raising a cyber toast for Paul. Will have to stick to the pretend stuff for now, I had a generous glass of wine to get me in the mood for the love scene I'm writing tonight and all it's done is made me desperate for bed - but only in the sleeping sense.

Thanks for the fanfare, Michelle!  The news has been a real boost for me as 2008 has been an utter stinker of a year so far for me on a personal level.

And when I've met my deadline and life is on more of an even keel (two weeks of very long hospital visits every day is pretty wearing and my time has telescoped alarmingly) I will pop back in and chat.
