Moonlight
Mick St. John is a captivating, charming and immortal private investigator from Los Angeles, who defies the traditional blood-sucking norms of his vampire tendencies by using his wit and powerful supernatural abilities to help the living. In a life-altering twist of fate, Mick was "bitten" 60 years ago by his new bride, the seductive Coraline. Forever 30 years of age, Mick's as handsome and charismatic as the day he was "turned," and he eschews others of his kind who view humans only as a source of nourishment. With only a handful of like-minded confidantes for company, including the eternally young, wealthy and mischievous Josef, a hedge fund trader who relishes his uniqueness, Mick fills his infinite days protecting the living.
One night years ago, a single act of kindness changed Mick when he saved a young girl's life, making him want to be a better vampire. Now their paths cross again and Mick develops a distinctive bond with Beth Turner, who has grown into a beautiful, ambitious Internet investigative reporter. Reconnecting with her unleashes feelings Mick knows he can't pursue without exposing that part of him that would make him a monster in Beth's eyes. As Mick lives between two realities, fighting his adversaries among the undead and falling in love, he discovers the mysteries and pleasures that a valuable life has to offer.

Let's hope it comes back!
I am watching it in repeats and enjoying it even more the second time around...

Love this show!
I really really love Moonlight! I too love to even watch it during the repeats which is rare for me with tv shows.
People who look down on others are the real freaks of this world.
I just noticed...
On my TiVo, they show some new epis coming up! woo!
I really like Joseph. At first I was disappointed that they "softened" him, because I liked that he was so edgy, and when they showed him with the girlfriend in a coma, I wasn't really happy with that, but then I realized how much trouble that would cause for Mick -- it gives him another reason he couldn't think of changing Beth over. So I think that was the reason behind it.

Moonlight
Moonlight is one of my favorite shows!! Mick is HOT!! I just looked up the info on tormorrow night's show. It should be a great show. I have to work tomorrow night but I am going to tape it....the good thing is watching it without commericals!

moonlight
ok - I am sooo bad - was kinda happy with this new episode - hoping that they are going to pursue the "romance" angle with Mick.....but was also thrilled that they showed him vamped out and more action too.
Man....I LOVE THIS SERIES, was hooked when I saw the first episode!!!

Exciting!
*waves at Michelle*
I LOVED tonights episode! His doing the vamp thing to intimidate those men was so hot! I don't want to give anything away just incase people haven't seen it yet but he is soo awesome in this episode!

I dunno...I thought it was
I dunno...I thought it was kinda a cop out... It was just too easy! Of course she is gonna get with Mick now...although there is the whole being angry at him, but I think she'll get over that when she realizes what an absolutely ridiculous request she was making.
And I think that he was totally lying when he answered that question she asked him at the end. He knows very well he wouldn't let that happen.
http://www.lesleyspeller.com
I agree
I have to agree with lesleyspeller on the fact that Beth is gonna get with Mick now. Well we sure hope so, don't we!!! It will be interesting to see how long she stays mad at Mick. And I also agree that she'll get over that when she realizes what an absolutely ridiculous request she was making.
And I totally agree that Mick was lying when he answered that question Beth asked him at the end. Yes, he knows very well he wouldn't let that happen. I wonder what Beth would think of that if he actually did it??
Is that the last show for the season? Does anyone know? So many great shows are ending way to early because of the strike.
A soul suffocated by fear leaves too many joys unlived...Maria Housden.
New show
Shelley, it looked like there will be another new episode next week. It looked like he may become human..I hope not! I saw in the upcoming preview Beth asking him if he was human.
Oh and I agree he was lying about not turning her if he had to.
People who look down on others are the real freaks of this world.
next weeks show
yeah the preview for next week has me wondering - I think his ex comes back and tries to turn him back human - but that would destroy the show so I doubt it if it will work.
I agree - we know the love story is about to begin - but there will be a lot to get over, she will wonder if he wouldn't turn her fiancee just to get at her himself?
And we all know - no matter how much he hates being a vamp - he couldn't let her suffer and die, he would turn her if she asked!
"There must be something in books, things we can't imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don't stay for nothing." (fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury)
Yeah...I don't think she was
Yeah...I don't think she was ever reallllly human. I think maybe it was some kind of temporary thing. I could be wrong though. The whole blood looking like a child's thing was weird! I think maybe Mick is going to get to be temporarily human and realize he's kinda being lame. :-D At least that's how I would write it, but who asks me anyway! hehe

Loved this epi!
Have been holding back from checking the list because I didn't get to watch it until just now, but it was fantastic.
I'll admit it, I felt so sad when Josh died -- I didn't think I had much attachment to him one way or the other, but they played the whole thing so well it was absolutely heartwrenching.
I guess the only thing I would have changed (if I were writing it -- hey, Hollywood, call me, LOL), is that I wouldn't have had him come in at the end and talk to her. I would have ended the show with her in the room and him outside waiting, but the two of them apart for now, the wall between them. I thought his speech about why Josh was killed (his job, etc) felt "off" -- it wasn't the time for that -- and took away from the very beautiful moment of him saying "he's human, this is what happens" -- that was a fantastic line.
Also, logistically, there was no way to bring him back because the other cops arrived -- if they'd played the moment before help arrived, he could have brought him back, and no one would have known, but at the point she asked him, there was no way, because the other cops already knew he was injured/dying. How would they suddenly have been able to explain him popping back to life? Although, there could have been story fodder there, too -- two vampires in love with her...
It was an amazing epi, and I was happy to see that they got the People's Choice for new series, so maybe it will come back for a second season or more epis when the strike ends (really, Hollywood, call me). LOL

Sam, I just watched that
Sam,
I just watched that episode today, it was sad that josh died but on the other hand, mick can go after beth :)
Yeah
I'm glad about that, but I think it would have been more conflict to have Josh still around, since Mick has to deal with Coralene...maybe Coralene could have turned Josh? LOL
Will be interesting to see where it goes now..

And that would be JUST like
And that would be JUST like something Coraline would do to try to elminate her competition. It's got to rub her the wrong way that the kid she kidnapped to play "our sweet little girl" is now the other woman.

Oh yeah, he's dead.
As a doornail. LOL
Though again, I was watching a TiVo'd Ghost Whisperer, and they showed the previews to Moonlight, and the scene where Beth is begging him to save Josh "for her" and it just chokes me up... the actors really nailed that whole scene. It was fab!

Can anyone explain...?
Hi everyone! I watch the show regularly and love it. But I'm confused about the sunlight thing. It seems like each episode shows Mick in the sun more and more. He's made reference to it getting to him. At times, he shields his face with his hand. And of course he always wears sunglasses. Is he a daywalker?
FYI...I love Josef too. Maybe because he use to be Logan??
Shannon
batmom72@yahoo.com
Logan?
I love Josef -- he's a hottie, but I don't know him from anywhere else... I just liked how feral he is -- the look he gave Beth, when he first met her, doing the phone call thing in his office, was awesome. Like he wanted to bite her on the spot -- I think they should have done more with her and him... He was always iffy about Mick knowing her, because she's a reporter and could expose them -- if they maintained him as more of a threat to her, with that buried attraction that he can't indulge I think that would have been more powerful...
The sunlight thing is kinda lame. I think they need to commit to you can be in the sun or not, or maybe just for brief exposures, and he would get some blistering, etc... they seem to kind of fudge that a lot...

So it's not just me...
Glad to know I'm not the only one then. I agree they should commit one way or the other. I like the blistering idea. It keeps with what we already know about vampires--allergic to the sun.
Josef...Jason Dohring...use to play Logan Echolls on Veronica Mars.

Ah, I never watched that
But maybe I should. :)
I always wonder how TV shows are written -- can you just write one, and send it in and see if they take it? Or do you have to be on the staff of writers? I would *looooove* to write a Moonlight epi...

Anytime...
I love turning people on to new shows. You'll have to let me know what you thought afterwards. Personally, I loved the show.
I'm kind of a tv addict. I'll sit down with a calender and the premiere schedules, trying to plan out my tv viewing. I try to catch each new show at least once. Then I stick with my favs.
I know what you mean about writing episodes. I'm not sure how it works but I think you have to be on staff. I've often thought I had a great idea for an ep. Who knows? Maybe with the writers strike they'll start looking for scabs...LOL.
Shannon
batmom72@yahoo.com
Heh, I can only wish...
I'm a TV addict, too, and very depressed by the lack of new shows, though doing fine on the offerings we have, DVDs, and the reruns. There's enough to keep me occupied. So I want to be able to express solidarity as a writer, but as a TV viewer who can write, I think I'd jump at the chance, LOL. I want new shows any way I can get them!

Sad to say, but I'm kinda
Sad to say, but I'm kinda glad about the lull on tv right now. I haven't been able to watch too much recently as my daughter just started Algebra. She hates math so we work on it every afternoon which throws the rest of my schedule off. Thank heavens for Tivo!!
Hopefully the strike will end soon and we can look forward to new shows in the near future. I really miss some of them...

Suns and freezers.
The whole sun thing doesn't really bother me. I mean I've seen so many different versions of the vampire mythos that I can suspend my disbelief to accept that it just drains him. Did y'all see the epi where he was in the desert? After poor Beth thought he got blown up? We see there that the sun really does a number on him.
The thing that really pushes my buttons is the freezer deal... Um...Why??? Just why??? I don't get it. Why would h esleep in a freezer. It's not like he's decaying... I want explanaitions for weird stuff like that.
http://www.lesleyspeller.com
I like the show ok...
I was worried at first that the show was going to try and be like "Forever Knight"....Nick/Mick.
I also dont know how much I buy a day walking vamp, but i am willing to go with it.
I hope that they dont get together to soon. That is usally the kiss of death for a series. Think "Remmington Steele" or "Moonlighting", or even "Cheers"....once the bickering couple finally gets together, the show doesnt last much longer.
Terri
Got Books?
I don't know why a freezer.
I don't know why a freezer. I've just always assumed that it was more because it's a hidden area. Maybe it's a roomier "coffin".
I agree about them not getting together too soon. That's why I was surprised by the whole Josh thing. The sexual tension on shows like this,I think, is what keeps a lot of us coming back. I believe it appeals to the romance reader in us. But I hope they don't drag it out too long either...
Shannon
batmom72@yahoo.com
Yeah, the freezer thing is weird..
Now that you mention it -- I guess I was forgetting all of these things and just focusing on the parts I like. ;) Willing to forgive a lot in the way of hot heroes and good stories.
It is one of those things that would make the relationship weird, though, your lover sleeping in a freezer, LOL.
Well, let's just hope we get to see more and how they work it all out...

Batmom: It definitely has
Batmom: It definitely has something to do with the cold too... There was that one epi where the guy accidently turned the doctor who was trying to help him after he hit him with his car, and he went and got into the freezer because he wanted the cold. Like by instinct, no one told him to or anything.
http://www.lesleyspeller.com
Sam: Yeah, it would
Sam: Yeah, it would totally cut down on cuddle time! Don't you think? hehehe Maybe he could get one of those cooler blankets they use for surgeries and she could get a heating blanket to sleep on... I've known people who like their temperatures almost the different. hehe

Lesley--I think you're
Lesley--I think you're right. Vampires usually had coffins in basements and such places that tend to be on the cooler side. Since Mick lives in a more urban environment, he might use a freezer because he doesn't have a basement or cellar.
Funny picture...I can see cuddling in the freezer...LOL (between the teeth chattering).

haha - wow you have to get the commercial freezer if you have a mate then right???
I would sooo love it if Coralene did turn Josh and no one knew till later!
I think a lot more of Josef should be in the series, I loved the episode that he was more of a star in.
Can't wait till tomorrows show either.

Oh, it's so unfair!
To leave it hanging like that! It wasn't the best epi, not as intense as last week, but it was good, and I can see it leading interesting places... No preview though! Damned writer's strike! Arrgh!
Let's hope this thing gets solved and we can get our shows back!

argh...
they had him as a daywalker already, lol just not enjoying it as much. I don't think they can leave him like this for long - the fans (like me, lol) will object profusely - the best episode was still last week, him vamp powers showing in that fight were phenomenal.
and no preview....I forgot about the writers strike - that is probably the reason (meaning no episode next week!!!! NO!!!!!)
"There must be something in books, things we can't imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don't stay for nothing." (fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury)
Ahhh!!
Oh I hate that they ended it like they did! Leaving him as human and kind of leaving us hanging and wondering what will happen.
That one vampire with the black eye was so freaky looking! I wonder what will come about that and I hope the cure is never found!
You had to laugh at Mick with the piles of take out food all over the place!

Last Night's Show
I thought the show was great and I can't wait to see what happens between Mick and Beth now that he's human...forever how long it lasts that is. I hope Mick is left out of Coraline's drama now but I have a funny feeling we haven't seen the last of her or her brothers. It just hit me now as I write this that the reason why Coraline didn't die in the fire was because she can regenerate as quickly as her brother did in last night's show. I can't believe I never thought of that when I was watching the show last night. Boy, didn't Lance..?right name...look creepy with one black eye.
OMG it does suck to be left hanging like that. And it better come on again, I hate it when you just get into a perfectly great show and the network cuts it.
Sarah, I did kinda chuckle when I saw all that food on the table but, I woulda done the same thing...taste every food I craved for the last ?50 years.
A soul suffocated by fear leaves too many joys unlived...Maria Housden.
I love it!
I really loved how they made the French Revolution a purging of vampires. That was just cool. At first when I saw the girl on the table I thought that was Coraline. Given that we found out it was her brothers that would have been just creepy. LOL
Is it just me or does anyone think that Mick and Beth are going to fall into bed together in the immediate future? I mean he is all high on his humanity, and she is so confused because of Josh dying.
Which brings up the question of just how human is he at the moment? Is he completely human? Could he knock her up? Cause a love child could throw some interesting drama into the mix, espcially given that there would be the question of would it be normal or not.
http://www.lesleyspeller.com
Oh, that would be good!
I think you're on to something with the whole love child thing -- yes, I can see that happening (playng off of the most recent Superman movie, where he left Lois a single mom... ;)
I enjoyed the French Revolution stuff, too, and didn't think of it with Coraline in the fire until you just said it, LOL. I guess my mind was on other things, but I thought that was a very solid rationale for what's happening. I wonder whom they were bringing her back to? When she said "you know what he'll do" -- I wonder who he is, and what he'll do? I bet we find out.
The food was the best, and yes, I would do that too. I also thought when he showed up and was all broken and bent but smiling, that probably healed a lot for Beth, to see that he prefers the pain of mortality -- but of course he won't get to keep it. I wonder how long? It seemed like Coraline was human for quite a stretch, but maybe she was using the compound all along.
They had so better get this show back on the air -- it was selected as the People's Choice winner for new show, so that has to mean something, I hope...
We could probably write letters at the website or something..

And I got a VM DVD today...
So a Jason Dohring fix for me tonight -- though it really does depend on how they shoot him. He can look amazingly sexy, or kind of like a doofus in the wrong light, wrong angle, LOL. I guess the same could be said of all of us... I remember when we watched Angel my husband and I would laugh and groan when David Boreanaz would flash that big goofy smile because it so didn't fit Angel, and just made him look goofy, LOL. Fits for his current character though... which reminds me I miss Bones, too...

Last night's ep is the last
Last night's ep is the last one until the writer's strike is over. I read that unless the strike ends by Feb 1, this will probably be it for this tv season for most shows.
I loved the food scene too. But where was the chocolate? I'd need a big cake or something...LOL.
I fear we haven't seen the last of Coralene either. I don't want to like her but I felt bad for her last night. And Lance was scary. Makes you wonder what the guy (I assume the head brother) Lance is taking Coralene to is like.
Sam--Can't wait to see how you like VM. Just keep in mind, sometimes you hate Logan and other times he's not so bad.
