The Walker Papers
Though C.E. (Catie) Murphy lives in Ireland now, formerly from Alaska, she has never watched a single episode of Northern Exposure or helped a film crew simulate terrorist attacks on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. She has, though, been forced to convince people that she neither lives in an igloo, rides a polar bear, nor has a penguin for a pet. She's married to a chef, has two small cats, and a large dog who is afraid of everything.
According to one source, Catie began her writing career when she ran away from home at age five to write copy for the circus that'd come to town. You would think she'd remember this, but her own earliest memory regarding writing is from age six, when she submitted three poems to a school publication. The teacher producing the magazine selected (inevitably) the one she thought was by far the worst, but also told her — a six-year-old kid — to keep writing.
It's likely she would have, anyway, but she took the advice to heart. And a good thing, too: far more people after that (some of them famous authors!) told her to do anything other than write, if she possibly could.
It turns out she couldn't.
Her hobbies include swimming, walking, traveling, drawing and moose-wrestling.

Joanne Walker has three days to learn to use her shamanic powers and save the world from the unleashed Wild Hunt.
No worries. No pressure. Never mind the lack of sleep, the perplexing new talent for healing herself from fatal wounds, or the cryptic, talking coyote who appears in her dreams.
Joanne's spirit guide has disappeared and she's accidentally unleashed demons on Seattle. It's not the best time to realize she should have long since learned more about her powers....
Much of the city can't wake up. And more are dozing off each day.
Instead of powerful forces storming Seattle, a more insidious invasion is happening. Most of Joanne Walker's fellow cops are down with the blue flu—or rather the blue sleep. Yet there's no physical cause anyone can point to—and it keeps spreading.

I love the Walker Papers.
I love the Walker Papers. Catie makes great characters!
I'm kinda' fond of "Thor". A guy intimidated by the person who had his job previously, and everyone liked better, and was a girl to boot! I'm thinking that there's depth to this one.

Maybe it's time to re-listen to my Walker Papers again.
It's been awhile. And I never did quite figure out what happened to/with Coyote, so maybe a re-listen will help.

That's true! Whatever happened to coyote is a complete mystery to me. I'll have to re-read everything again. Like that's a hardship, LOL.

Im still in the middle of
Im still in the middle of the story..eveything's seems very mysterious in this book..but i find it so intruiging.
So I FINALLY got around to starting Coyote Dreams
The fact a new book in teh series comes out soon was the kick in the pants I needed to listen to CD. Not very far yet but I'm definitely curious about the whole sleeping sickness and how Mark ended up in Joanne's life so suddenly. Im trying to decide if i like him or don't trust him, wondering if he's connected to the problems brewing.

Walking Dead
Catie, I'm really looking forward to reading the Walking Dead. Oh and I have a slight crush on J. Michael Morrison!
Would like to see how he and Joanne's story develops.

I finished CD at the gym
I finished CD at the gym today. This was my "listen only at the gym to encourage me to GO to the gym" book. Excellent story. I'm still a little up in the air as to where Coyote was during the time he was missing but I think I have a fairly good idea. I'm hoping we'll get more detail in the next book. I especially liked the interaction between present day Joanne and teenager Joanna. Very cool storyline.

Ok the longer time passes since i finished Coyote Dreams,
the more one thing bothers me that I'm not sure about it. I'll post it as a spoiler in case someone else is behind on the series.

At the end of the book, Joanne wakes up and finds out she's been asleep for a couple/few days and everyone is surrounding her bed at the hospital. She does ask about Billy and his wife (whose name I'm blanking on just now) and is told they woke up just fine. And they tell her everyone woke up except Mark. Mark wakes up after she goes to see him and he doesn't know who she is.
So my question is... how much of what happened occurred in her dreams while asleep and how much happened in reality and did she just fall sleep after after the big battle?
I can't figure that out. I THOUGHT the story occurred while she was awake except the couple parts we KNOW already were dream sequences. It's not real clear to me which is the case. maybe I missed something since I was listening at the gym which meant a lot of short segments of listening until I finished it.
but the more I think about it since i finished the book, the more I'm starting to wonder if most of the story happened in a lucid dream.
Thoughts? DID I miss something? Or did you get the impresion it was intentional to leave us not exactly sure?
