Hi Gena, it's good to see you, thanks for coming to visit with us.
I have to say, before we get started, I just loved the way you described Jillian's first impression of Marcus; "...the scent of sin--that's the only way to describe it--had followed this one, lingering in the air long after he'd stepped into the boss's office and shut the door."

What's on the burner?
Hi Gina, I've been a fan since Animal Instincts, can you tell us a little bit about your next project?

Thanks so much, guys!!
Thanks so much, guys!! Marcus was a lot of fun to write :) I loved his quirky sense of humor, his mind-in-gutter trips and how he just couldn't resist Jillian.
I'm currently working on the sequel to Playing With Fire (tentatively titled Twice As Hot) It features Belle, Rome and all the gang.
After that, I'll be diving into the next Lords of the Underworld book. I cannot wait for those books to hit stands!

how do you do it?
Hi Gena! I loved Catch a Mate! okay-okay, I love all your books. I confess.
But how do you come up with all the cool ideas for your stories? I loved Jillian's character especially. How did you come up with that story line? And will you have any sequels or a series lined up for Catch a Mate?
How CAM came to be :)
Thank you so much!
I was on a road trip with fellow author Jill Monroe and we were discussing men (as we love to do :) One of us said: Men can be such pigs! The other said: Women should be the slaughter house! And boom, the idea was born.
Each book idea has come to me in a different way. CAM was the most fun :)
As for the secondary characters, I would one day like to write an anthology with perhaps 4 short stories featuring my favorites CAM employees. Jake, though, might need a full length novel. I adore him!

Good morning Gena. I
Good morning Gena.
I think what I enjoyed the best was the basic premise of Catch A Mate, that two jaded people found their soul mates despite their (albeit deserved) preconceptions of the opposite sex. Boy the sparks flew between those two.

thanks!
I love your story on how Mate came into being and it's extra juicy, because I love Jill Monroe's books too! The loves scenes really stood out to me in Mate. I think they were extra steamy because the characters were so hostile to each other. The way I look at it was that the animosity was like foreplay for those two. I really enjoyed the combative personalities.
I agree Steel. I think the

You guys are absolutely right! And I've never had so much fun writing love scenes. While they're in the taxi, headed to Jillian's house, and feeling each other for fangs, horns and tails, I laughed out loud. :)

Jillian and Marcus
I've got to tell you, Catch a Mate has my favorite hero and heroine of *all* time. They're bitchy but loveable. What could be funner than that? I'm so excited you're going to write the sequel. I'm ready!!!
Care to give us a hint on whose story it will be and their love interest? Hmmmm?
My sweet Jake :)
I really want to tell Jake's story, but I haven't met his heroine yet. The moment she arrives inside my head, I'll be at the computer, typing away. I adore Jake and want him to have a happily ever after.

Gena I haven't
had the chance yet to read Jillian and Marcus' story. I can well imagine by your kooky sense of humor that it is a must read and I plan to asap. Or as soon as I get out from under my deadline for the chapter pitch next month.

I agree!
I bought the book to support my fellow OKRWA author, and couldn't put it down. My 5 yo kept wanting to peek at the pages when I laughed out loud.
I read it so fast, I had to hit the local bookstore to see what else I could find. You and Jill Monroe are new favorites for sure!! I love your sense of humor!

A GENA FAN
Gena,
Your books are an automatic buy for me. I can always count on hot, sexy romps and out of the ordinary characters that I really enjoy reading about. The only bad thing I can say is...the books all have to end. But you keep churning them out there so the fans don't starve between reads. Great job, Gena!
Loved your video by the way. Slowwwly, of course! LOL

I'm always happy to talk about my work LOL When working on a rough draft, I write a chapter a day, five days a week until the draft is done. That takes about a month and a half. Then I'll read through it, making changes, adding/fixing/deleting. Then, if I have time, I'll read it again. The entire process takes about 3 months.
Di, Thank you so much, you sweetie!!!

To Catch A Mate
Hi Gena!
Big waves! I'm so excited to hear about the sequel to Catch A Mate. I loved this book! I'm also jonesen for the Lords of the Underworld series to be released. Question: In the sequel you are currently writing, who are the star players in this book or can you tell us?
LOL! Lisa W.

Which sequel are you referring to as Gena tends to always have something on the go?

I think she means Twice As Hot, the sequel to Playing With Fire (a rough draft I just finished this week, yea!!!)
Belle and Rome are the stars of this book, as well. The entire gang is back -- Tanner, Cody, Sherridan, Lexis -- as Belle goes after her first scrim, Desert Gal, and finds her powers are more volatile than ever. You'll meet a few more superheroes, a few more supervillians, as Belle tries to plan her wedding to Rome. But Rome --okay, I'm about to spill the entire plot LOL I'll stop. :)

I adored Playing With Fire. I thought I'd heard/read somewhere that you were planning a story for Cody, and Tanner as well. Is this true?

If the book plot stays the
If the book plot stays the same as it is now, then they both have pretty intense hook ups in Twice As Hot. (I sometimes change my mind about major plots in a book after the rough draft is done and rewrite completely. I won't know for sure whether that'll happen in this one until I dive back in for a read) However, I would love to tell their stories one day. I adore those guys!

Happens a lot :) Valerian raised his hand in Jewel of Atlantis and there was no saying no to him. Layel has always had a special place in my heart, but my Lords of the Underworld showed up and there was no turning away from them. Characters are my weakness LOL

Can you tell us more about your upcoming Lords of the Underworld series? I caught a glimpse at the book detail of the first and have been pouting none too prettily about having to wait for it.
Add some SPICE to your life.
Lords of the Underworld
Absolutely! I'm always happy to discuss my Lords.
I’ve taken the myth of Pandora and completely turned it upside down! I claim the gods entrusted Pandora, the greatest warrior of her time, to guard the box. But a group of immortal warriors fought and won it, opened it, and unleashed the horde of demons locked inside. Because of this, the gods punish each warrior to house a demon inside his own body. So the warriors become the box, so to speak. It’s not an easy pairing, either.
Maddox, the hero of The Darkest Night, is keeper of Violence. He's been cursed to die every night only to awaken the next morning knowing he has to die again. I tried to stay true to his character and show his fierce struggle with the demon. Sometimes, he does not win that struggle and the demon overtakes him. His heroine, Ashlyn, is able to stand in one location and hear every conversation that’s ever taken place there.
Lucien, the hero of The Darkest Kiss, is keeper of Death. He’s been ordered to escort the goddess of Anarchy’s soul to the hereafter. The tempestuous and fun-loving Anya views his attempts as a game.
Reyes, the hero of The Darkest Pleasure, is keeper of Pain. He’s forbidden to know pleasure. Actually, pain is his pleasure. Danika, his heroine, is being chased by his best friend, the demon of Wrath, for reasons the warriors do not yet know.

Catch a Mate came in the mail today!!! Finally..If there was one book I was anxiously waiting for it was this one!
Guess what book I'll be reading next *g*
I love all your books Gena, ever since I first read the Stone Prince I was hooked and I have had the great honor of reviewing Savor Me Slowly and The Darkest Night for a Dutch website on books and I love both the series.
I read Animal Instincts and now I can't wait to read Catch a Mate....I know it'll be as good as always :)
The only other books by you that I haven't read yet are Playing with Fire (but it's on the buylist and coming to my shelves in the foreseeabl future so nice to know there's a sequel in the making...) and the Teen Alien Huntress books.
You do write a lot of different series. Do you have a favourite series?

I loved Catch a Mate. Then again I have loved every book of yours that I have read since discovering you with the help of PC Cast. Jake definitely needs his own story. The man needs to have love find him again. I hope you create the perfect match for him someday so you can write the story.

Hey Lorie
It took me a while to find the discussion but once I saw it, I was here. Catch A Mate was a fun story to listen to. I'm glad I got this one as an audible. The reader did a great job.
Gena, If the NEXT line was still going, do you think you would ever consider writing the mom's story? I think getting her life back under control and looking for love would make an excellent book. Oh and the neices need a story about them, once they grow up. With their names I can imagine all sorts of fun.

Wow, the heroine of the next
Wow, the heroine of the next book has come to you. Cool! Can you disclose whose heroine it is? I know whose heroine I wish she would be *wink*
If I had to I name my favorite series by you I would have to agree with you but the Lords would have to share their spot with the Alien Huntresses. That series also has a special place in my heart!
Talking about series...Can you say something about the Imperia series...do you think there will be more books in that one...?
Katie's brothers did intrigue me and it was a nice surprise to see Gray again in Jewel of Atlantis...
Oooh I could go on forever but I'll leave it at this...have taken up enough of your time!
Sorry for the delay!
I was struck by a terrible stomach flu and am only now emerging from bed. That's what I get for teasing Jill Monroe about having it :)
Writing the mom frm Catch A Mate -- you know, I had never thought about it before. I think I'd try a character like that as a secondary love story first. To get my feet wet, so to speak.

Next Lords of the Underworld heroine
She's for Sabin (the warrior possessed by the demon of Doubt). I meant to write Paris (Promiscuity) or Aeron (Wrath) but this woman would not fit either of them. :)

Imperia
There's nothing in the works right now, but that doesn't mean there won't be :) One day I'd really love to tell Julia and Tristan's daughter's story.
Katie's brother, too, would be a lot of fun. They made me laugh from the moment they stepped onto the page. :)

It's funny how one character can speak louder at times than others isn't it?
You know, I meant to say this earlier but got sidetracked... I loved Georgia too. I think you really captured the growing up as a redhead. We are rather more gangly as kids than seems fair.
