Ask The Hosts

Is there something wrong with a thread? Is an Online Read NOT up, or NOT updated? Do you have something in general that isn't working on the Simply Series Board that you need help with because it's driving you NUTS? Or do you just want to chat?

Well, come on over here and tell us about it! Or if it's something you'd rather discuss off-line, just contact  Wayne or Rae at rae_cy@yahoo.com!

Special Notices:

  • There is a ten o'clock EST rule in that the online reads aren't required to be posted until that time. If they come earlier, that's eHQ's gift to you, but if they aren't up before that time, don't panic--they're coming! If they STILL aren't up...buzz us, we're on your side! LOL!
  • If you have an idea or you want to see something addressed in a Question and Answer for any Simply Series line, this is the place to let us know.
  • We're not experts on all of the books. If you have a question about a particular series, book you read and can't find, the best place to ask is: Reading Experts: customer_ecare@harlequin.ca
  • The Writing guidelines can be found here. All the correct word counts and specifics are there for each line.

    Small caveat: We're not editors. We're just hosts and we work from home, most of the time in our jammies. So, that means we cannot go down any hall and check on the status of your submissions. We can't ask any editor the status of your submissions. That's a very private thing between the writer and the editor and is protected. Best of luck on all your submissions.

    Loving the new layout so far. How do I post on the Presents board? I keep seeing a message saying 'you are not allowed to post a new topic', or something like that. I'm probably doing something wrong. Quite frankly I'm amazed that I found my way here. Laughing

    Hmm. Not sure what you're doing. All you need to do is the same thing you did here, post a comment. You could even try replying to one.

    RSS feeds for this forum

    I just wanted to mention that RSS feeds for this Forum only give the option to Feed this thread -- Ask the Hosts -- and the Million Dollar Dad thread

    I'd like to have some of the other folders on this Forum included in the Feed .... how do I do that?  or is this a temporary glitch?

    LOL ...... I found out what I needed to do ..... in order to subscribe to the feed of the Line folders you need to open that folder then click on the small RSS feed icon and voila!  you can subscribe! 

    all these learning curves!  Smile

    Can't access HP discussion

    I can't figure out how to access of the discussions from the Harlequin Presents thread.  The only icon that is available allows you to save some stuff to your PC as a file -- I don't want to download everything onto my laptop.  How can I access the discussion?

    Okay, I rebuilt the Presents discussion, so you all should be able to go in there and post in it now. What happened is that things that were built before the launch disappeared and we're still trying to figure out what is missing and what is actually there. Please keep in mind that there are going to be glitches and bugs and we're working on it. Anything missing, please let us know in this thread for the Simply Series board.

    I tried to add this discussion to my RSS feed page in Google Reader and it said that a feed was not available for this page .....could you turn that function on?

    Jeanette still doesn't have hosty buttons and I have no idea how to do that. I'll try this afternoon, but I'm half-afraid to mess with stuff right now until I'm sure we can. Does that make sense? There's a big list of things for the tech guys to fix and I can't remember if that was on there or not. Give us a day or so to see what we're allowed to do and what we're not.

    no hurry on the RSS ..... I've also asked Jayne over on her Community 2.0 blogas well, as there are several threads I'd love to see set up with RSS feeds of their own, and not just their parent folder  .....

    Trying To Find A Title

    This may sound strange, but I am looking for a book that I don't know much about.  I know it came from this site and that it was from an excerpt but that is about it.  My sister really wanted that book and I would like to see if I can get it for her for her birthday.  The excerpt started out with a girl who was in college, but was younger than your average college student.  She didn't fit in, very brainy but too young to fit in.  She also must have been a little bit bigger, but a family friend or a brother's friend always tried to look out for her and make her feel better.  Then that day she actually asked him to make love to her and he was ready to bolt.  That is all I can remember from what she told me.  I think it only came out 2 to 4 months ago.  Can anyone help me?  I cannot even remember what series it is from!  Help

    Hi everyone,

    I just wanted to let you all know that despite enjoying her work as a board host, Jeanette has resigned in order to devote herself to her young family and other opportunities.  We are sorry to see her go and wish her all the very best, and I wouldn't be surprised if she will still pop in from time to time to say hello.Laughing

    However, you may have noticed the friendly face and comments from Wayne lately,  who has graciously accepted the responsibily for hosting the Passion and Adventure discussions on the Simply Series board.   You may also recognize him as the host of our African American imprints on the Kimani board and his name as the author of several Kimani novels.  He is a serious romantic suspense devotee and has also enjoyed hosting the Open House conversations for our Presents authors.  I'm sure he'll be a wonderful addition to the conversations here. So welcome Wayne!

    Depending on how old they are, your best bet would be to look online at places like ebay and amazon, barnes and noble and any reputable online used book store or one in your area. You can also check our backlist section or these books could possibly be in our new e-book section.
