Love: Historical Style
Do you love historical romance? Are you one of the ones who has learned more about history through romance than you ever did in school? Maybe you'd like to join us in the drawing room filled with our various heros - rakes, cowboys and warriors all in skin tight breeches and discuss your favorite characters with the authors who created them or maybe you'd like to talk about research for your own potential story idea--or both! Whatever brought you here, we're glad you came. Sit down, make yourself comfortable and stay awhile, but be mindful of our Warrior's swords--they're sharp!

Skin tight breeches??
Skin tight breeches?? Warrior swords?? Yeah, I'll stay a while
I just picked up Barbarian King, Virgin Slave...looks good!

Hello!
Yes, I found the room :))) but am getting a bit confused trying to get my profile and signature sorted out. The 'on sale now! thingy doesn't seem to work. And I am not sure about the link to my website either. Let's see if this works.

I still can't get my signature right. It won't show my website, nor my full name at the top. ;((( Think I will try again in the morning.

Top Signature Lines
Aren't the same over here. You'll just have to rely on the bottom one and whatever you signed up as in the community is what is going to be at the top. I'm not sure about all of the new features either, so bear with me as I learn my way around here as well.
Rae
Hi Rae!
Nearly there with the sig, except the weblink looks pretty odd. I think there may be a character limit with the signatures, which might be why it didn't work earlier. (I never could summarise!!)

finally found it
Well, I thought I would need those bread crumbs, but I found y'all after all!
Can I have my blog be about how I dislike technology?? That would just be odd......blogging about disliking computers.
Anyway, glad I found you all, finally! I have a wonderful new hero in my second WIP, but my heroine is eluding me.....maybe I need to rest and get over the flu and the darn drugs my doctor gave me so I can think straight. Between sleeping I've read 5 books in teh last three days---maybe I ought to do the book challenge after all!

critique partners??
I have a dreadful time having a partner....I am in grad school which does restrict my reading/writing time....I will actually get to go to an RWA meeting and meet people, which might help, but currently my attempts at a partner have been online and I.....well, I feel like because I'm inexperienced in ...uhhh....relationships....people don't believe I'm 30.
I really am 30! I happen to not be plain at all, so I guess all the men in Memphis are idiots---my only explanation for never getting a date. I'm not very career-oriented, does that scare the modern male? I DO want to wait until I marry, to give myself only to my husband, but I'm constantly surrounded by married people and women--NOT my fault I haven't had experience. Does that lack of experience mean I can't write? So I understand a sheltered medieval heroine really really well----I just feel that I'm not able to keep a cp because they think I"m not really 30. It's actually kind of sad. Would they like me to run out and toss my virginity out the window so I can have 'experience?' Thanks, but I'm waiting for the right guy, because that way we'll be a perfect fit! I'm kind of glad I haven't dated, the right man will be the one who asks me out and anyone else is missing a lovely, loving, smart, young lady who can cook anything he wants to eat! HA! I'd LOVE to actually have the experience of a kiss, but what, I can't write about a kiss from imagination, from observation?
Sorry, just aggrivated at modern humans at the moment.

Right,
I am curently attempting to update/put my picture on etc etc.
But once I get the idea, I am sure that it will be wonderful.
I remain under my deadline.

I'm really likeing the new layout. Very new and fun too. Have found my way around pretty well and I am already used to it! I also like the new name for this thread as well, it fits to any historical theme.

Just got
Hello Everyone!
I just got two Historical books in the mail yesterday! Michelle Willingham's
I'd read her first one and really liked it so I'm looking forward to reading these. Has anyone else read them?
(okay, side note that I suppose I really should go post over at the base community forum: I just tried something with regards to the links--miss my code preview option like I have in word press to do these code tags manually...sigh--BUT I discovered that if I write up the code in my word press code preview and then go to visual, copy it, I can then paste it here to work as I wish it to.
guess that will work for now!)

Woot-Woot
I see you're all finding your way over here and playing with the different features. I am too. New and shiny is always good, but working out the glitches can be a headache.
Cole, yes the comment box is a lot like Word Press. Thank goodness I changed over from blogger or else, man this wouldn't be pretty for me. I'm techno challenged and have to learn by trial and error like a lot of others.
I think I hear some fencing happening in the court yard...

LOL on the fencing, Rae! My kids would want to jump right in.
I don't mind the glitches... I can't seem to do anything on the computer without running into them... so I expected them. Besides... I am having fun!

Historicals
I still have not had any problems with the new change. Just alot of fun.
I haven't read much Historical Fiction lately. Need to catch up on reading some! Especially Michelle Willingham's!
I have however read Diane Gaston's latest. The Vanishing Viscountess and absolutely loved it! I really adore her books which are Regency, and Stacey Kayne's as well. Stacey Kayne writes great Western Romances. I highly recomend both.
(Though I admit, I proudly love Modern Romances as well!)
Rebecca S.
My kids would be jumping in too
and I'm sure there'd be blood shed. They're home today--high winds and no power at the school. The fights have been minimal *knock on wood* they're all in different rooms doing different things right now.

Not able to play in the snow
Not able to play in the snow and have fun??? That's so wrong....and sad.....Just think, we all survived without the padding and 'safety' stuff, for centuries...I think we did better then than we do now with all the 'policies and procedures.'

Hi, MichelleS -- I'm trying, I'm trying. This year's resolution is to uncloak from the dungeon a little more. Not a lot, too many deadlines for that, but a little. And actually, things are easier to find over here now.
I tried to get all the HH links on my sig and couldn't do it, so I figured it'd be easier to just make "her" another person.

I'm so glad MichelleS lured you over here. Now, I'll be really happy to see Deb get her butt in here. Must search for her.
Very cool that you added the HH authors as well. Here's hoping more authors can join us. For February, I have some notes that the authors wanted to do something for Valentine's Day with their heroes.

And back at ya...
Happy to meet you too, is that ila? Obviously I need to crank up the font size on the tube. Red Wings fan? My sister would love you, she "runs" up to the games all the time and has season tickets to the Storm's games. Her son played hockey from the time he could walk and played for the Storm's training team for a season after high school before hanging up the skates.
I'm glad to hear you like the books...that's always a great thing to hear. Thanks.
Take care.

Been over to shelfari lately? What ARE they doing? Everytime I get the HH books in order they change their setup, so now the current month's books are under wish list and reading now is next month's and on and on.....grrrr. I don't have enough play time to keep up with them.
Have a good one!

It's ila---this crazy font makes the capital i's look like the lower case l---
I am a huge Red Wings fan! My nephew played hockey, and if I ever have sons, they will. One thing I'd like to be able to do with the professional writing degree I'm working on is to be able to work for one of the hockey teams in their media/community relations department--I'm hoping for the Red Wings!

We just watched 3:10 to Yuma again last night....:::big sigh::::....there is a movie that can make ya love a villain, as well as the hero. I keep wondering what color eyes Wade's mother had...were they green??? There's a man suffering from serious abandonment issues. I loved how bits of info are revealed all the way through about the Dan and Wade, making you hurt for both of them and at times rooting for both! I just love it when a writer can make me feel for the villain. And 3:10 is definitey a movie to get you pumped over westerns

Great Romances
Hello Everyone!
I will be looking forward to the Valentine's Day thread, I like the name Love Potions Through The Ages! Even if there was a book called that...
Stacey Kayne, Hello! Besides me being a big fan of your great Western Romances, I enjoy visiting your blogs, and really love the new layout on your website! I've yet to watch the new 3:10 to Yuma...sad isn't it?
Besides Western Books, I love watching Western Movies! Great to see you here by the way!
Been enjoying reading all these new posts here too!
Rebecca S.
Wow!
Wow, it is great to see it so active in here.
Denise, I'm a big fan of yours and am glad you found your way here! I will have to go back to your other "personality" and check out the links.
As for in the sig line, for now, I am keeping mine to my name and a link to some of my dh's art work. Once the website I write reviews for is done revamping itself (crossing fingers for late Feb. or early March), I will add that link again.
I love the idea of a thread for Val. Day and the title sounds great.
