My mission of revenge...

Drystan here, checking in under Lori's account. My mission of revenge is simple, I was the deserted child of a drug-addicted mother. My luckiest day, I thought at the time, was when a rich family decided to adopt me. Finally, I would have a home and love, but I was mistaken. I was nothing but a tool to these people--adopted to show how good they were, not to provide me with a home and love. Even knowing that, and having survived their rejection, when their biological son got caught up in the wrong crowd and found himself in a drug deal gone wrong, I went to help him. And got turned to a vampire as thanks.

As my revenge, I plan to take what they value most...their political aspirations...and their latest puppet, Aimee Polk--my adopted brother's fiancee.

Vampires and Demons

Lou, thanks for asking my opinion. I have to confess I'm rather new to the vampire thing. I've only been turned 10 years and I haven't spent a great deal of that catching up on my lore. However, the few vampires I know were "made". I think of demons as just being...of course, maybe I am fooling myself...there is certainly a demon inside me that would like to get out...

Kicking back...

I've often wondered, what does a Vamp do in his down time?  I mean is there some sort of place to kick back and have a few brewskies with the guys?  Do you enjoy or can you enjoy human food and beverages?

Kicking back

Sorry to report, vampires do not chew. I do, however, enjoy mixing a little wine in with my favorite red--served body temperature, of course.

So far as hanging with other vampires, some do. There are such places, but I tend to keep to myself, brooding near the bar, maybe keeping an eye out for a late night...date.

Humanity

Drystan,

Do you find it difficult to maintain your humanity at times? Revenge being at the forefront of your mind, do you worry about losing that part of you? I would imagine it would be a daily struggle, but would love to hear your take.

Drystan What do you find

Drystan

What do you find most appealing about women?

Humanity

My monster half is definitely becoming an issue, or at least a more frequent visitor. Is that a problem? I don't know. Not at the moment, but perhaps if I had something or someone to live for that would change...perhaps then I would care.

Women

What do I find most appealing about women?.... their blood? the chance to brush up against humanity again, to feel their warmth both inside my body as their blood courses through me and against my body as they press against me?

The blood thing is hard to explain to a non-vampire. It goes beyond nutrition; it's addictive. Maybe there is a woman out there who would offer more than that, but right now I'm not looking. It's hard to look for love when you are cursed and hated.

Dhampires

Dryston,

Are you aware, at least in your community, if vampires can produce offspring--or as their commonlly called, Dhampires? I know that's an intimate topic, but you said if you could find a woman, or someone to care about, maybe the monster within wouldn't be a problem--but what if that woman also carried your child? If that's possible, of course.

Thanks
Lou

Dhamphirs

Can't say I've given a lot of thought to reproducing. It isn't high up on my list of priorities.

I have heard of dhamphirs though. I think they have a tendency to to hunt down and kill their fathers...not something most vampires are looking to create. Now that you mention them though I can certainly understand their desire...it isn't all that different from my own.

Dreaming?

Drystan, you sound...cynical?  Somehow I think there's something to the tougher they are the harder they fall.  What kind of woman do you think you'd fall for...or do you just not think there's a woman out there for you?  My mother told me there's a lid for every pot.  Surely you dream of someone?
