Hey Rae,  I love these ornament exchanges!  It always gets me how early you have to start on them though!  It's just barely August and we're talking Christmas alreadyWink

My address in on its way via email to you.

I loved my '07 ornament

Here's a picture of the ornament Ronda made for me in last year's exchange. It's a family ornament for the family from my first book. What an amazing keepsake!

I'm getting them and I sent one back to someone letting them know and got a mailer-daemon. I'll be getting on that soon. Battling a migraine the last two days and finally feel a little more like myself. Keep them coming, the entries that is. I'd love for this to be big since it is our first year. *hint hint*

OK, Rae, by means of my fiendishly clever computer brain - OK, OK, I hit a lot of random buttons! - I found what you were talking about and you can count me in. Can't promise to come up with anything to match the other gals but I'll give it my best shot!

I'm sure as I said in my email that you'll send something lovely and unique and whoever recieves it will be ecstatic.

Rae

Email?

Should I have got one?  I've looked im my spam and bulk boxes but can't see anything

Maggie Kingsley

Email

Maggie, I replied to you last night. Did you not get it?

Rae

re email

Nope, didn't get it, Rae. I think the problem is that when I updated my profile I missed out the dot between the maggie and the kingsley, but when I go into My Profile to change it I go on this constant loop of being asked to choose the US State in which I live, and to supply a zip code, and I don't live in the US, so I'm just going round and round in circles. Any idea how I can get this sorted?

Maggie Kingsley

Not sure

Maggie, I responded to the email you sent me to yahoo. I'll reply again and see if that helps any. I'm not sure what you're referring too--something with signing up on the forums, here?

Rae

Signing in

Is signing up for the forums different to signing in to eHarl, Rae? You see, when I first signed up I gave my email addie, and got a user name, and I don't remember needing to give an address, so I'm wondering now if I'm trying to log into the wrong part of the site - maybe I'm trying to sign in to the bit where you can buy books? - and that's why it won't let me change my email address. I told you I was a techie twit. If all else fails, just email me direct at maggie.kingsley@btinternet.com and that will definitely get to me.

Maggie Kingsley

Rae, don't know if this

Rae, don't know if this matters or not, but I'm ok with mailing ornaments to other countries if my secret santa happens to be elsewhere than the USA.  I am really looking forward to the exchangeCool

Papaya

Thanks for the head's up. I'm actually going to be pairing people up today and sending out the email.

Rae

And Rae if you need a second

And Rae if you need a second person willing to send presents to other countries you can add me to the list.

More people

I have an odd number, so I had to send out some mass pleas to get some more people to participate. More emails are coming, I promise!

Rae

Don't worry Rae!

I just wanted to know if for some reason I didn't receive the email. There is no need to rush.

If need be, I can send my ornament to someone in another country.

Rae, it shouldn't matter if you have an 'odd' number.  Everyone sends to one person, not themselves -- nothing to match up.  This was not done in pairs -- the person that you sent an ornmanet to was not the person who sent you one.  I can understand your struggles if you are trying to pair everyone up -- there is no need for that.

i saw your post in the

i saw your post in the american romance forum Rae and I answered your plea. :-) You should have received it by now. If not I'll resend.

re email

Got mine, Rae!  Oooh, but this is exciting, though I should warn everyone that my craft skills are...... minimal.  I can still remember the time when I was twelve and we had to knit a pair of gloves for school. Well, those darned gloves took soooo long to knit that I started tugging at the fingers to make them longer. It worked, too. So I duly took my gloves in, and everyone else in my class did, too, and then the teacher said she'd take them home and wash them in preparation for parents' night.  Well, can you guess what happened?  My gloves shrank. Right back to the size they would have been if I hadn't kept tugging them so they resembled cow's udders. And the rat fink teacher put them on display along with everyone else's. Still haven't forgiven her for thatYell

Maggie Kingsley

No Need to be crafty

Maggie, you can most assuredly buy an ornament. You don't have to make one. I plan on buying one. I'm sure anything you send from Scotland will be exciting to whoever gets you. I know I was tempted to take you for myself, but alas, I played it fair. ;)

Rae

Mine is done

I made it yesterday and will get it out over the next week. I hope my recipient likes it! It's not as fancy as the one Ronda made for Ellen, which is completely amazing! But it's handmade and I did enjoy making it, and hope the person who gets it will like it as well...

Thanks for coordinating, Rae,

Actually, Rae

Am I on the right board? LOL While I hang out on the Supers board, I'm not a Home and Family author, and I thought maybe I was on another exchange list -- but I answered your email from the Supers board... hmmm. It's fine, I don't mind being the lone Blaze author, and my ornament is family-friendly, nothing sexy, LOL.

Yay!

I'm so glad you like it. That was only the second one I made that way, and I thought it was cute. :)

There's a story behind the little jingle bell I attached. My sister was going through a lot of stuff in a big credenza at my parents house, and came across some of my mom's sewing things and found a handful of those little bells as well as some other things, and she gave them to me, and I thought, what will I do with these little bells? LOL But they were my mom's, so I kept them. That little bell is probably about twenty years old. ;)

Enjoy the book, too. :)

Your heart really is adorable. I was thinking that maybe next year I'll try to make ornaments like that. Our family gets together on Christmas and exchange gifts. It's the same gift for each family. Usually the gifts are handmade. Like last year my dd and I made jingle bell ornaments. Someone else crocheted scarfs and usually someone makes candy such as chocolate dipped pretzels. Yum!!! Could we be so lucky this year? *G*

I'll remember your story about the ornament. That's a very special story. Thanks for sharing with me.

I plan to mail mine this weekend. I need to get a couple more little things to add to them then I'll get them mailed.
