Yay, is this a fresh new page?

I'm looking forward to next week's Nocturne chat, it sounds like people have a lot of wonderful news to talk about!    

Hiya! Newbie here... 

I'm very excited to get to know people over here.

This is where I'm going to start focusing my writing. I just got a few of the books from the Ebooks area. Gah!

I'm Tara...and I'm a fledgling when it comes to paranormal.

I love to read it, and now I'm going to try and write it.

That's fantastic news.

I haven't heard anything yet, but really should do some agent chasing. I've been working on the novella coming out in November and a novel I'm hoping the same publisher will pick up (fingers crossed). Well done you! :D

Well you totally inspired me. I just mailed off 4 queries over my lunch hour.

She is that. But I wonder if she knows what she's in for, with both Julie and I on board hee hee hee... ESPECIALLY Julie :P

Wow...thanks everyone for your well wishes.....feels awfully nice!  I know this is just another step in this crazy game of writing so I'm trying to keep my head out of the clouds and focus on writing!

And yeah vivi.....E seems incredibly motivated and smart!  So we shall see!

Mandy and Ruth...guess we are still in the waiting game!  I'm used to it by now........guess we all are!

I downloaded both Bites...and I started with the BEAST one. heheh

I'm liking it VERY much.  I like sexual tension and that came up right away.  Nothing like that little buzz.

that's awesome! I haven't heard anything back yet from Ann Leslie about my pitch manuscript either but thankfully with a big move coming up I haven't had much time to worry about it!

I love and adore the Nocturne series!! It's so cool to see all of my fav authors.. I have the next two months of Noc on my TBR pile, plus tons of others. And I must download the new Bites..

A long time writer, but never published, I'm hoping to change it.. Working on a Bites now.. but still not sure if it got it all dark and sexy... with all the help I see everyone getting here. I hope to be included.. both on receiving and giving ends.

Hey, has anyone out there read Lori Devoti's June Nocturne "Wild Hunt" yet?  I just finished, and it rocked!  Shapeshifters, Valkyries, and a lot of interesting world-building utilizing Norse mythology.  It's a terrific read!

I'm on to Pamela Palmer's "Dark Deceiver" next -- as soon as I can get time with everything going on here!  Her debut Nocturne a few months ago was very well done, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Wanted to ask you guys a question.  I'm ashamed to say I haven't read any of the Bites yet, even though I've purchased them.  I just don't have time to just sit in front of the computer and read them.  I am going to get an E-book reader, but don't know if one is better than the others.  Any suggestions??

The Microsoft eReader is definately the best option if you don't want to sit at the computer for extended stretches -- Adobe doesn't have the option of sticking in a bookmark when you want to take a break.

I'm holding off on the Women of the Other World series for a few months.....I've heard from several people that it's great, but my TBR pile is too huge! 

Aside from the Nocs I'm catching up on, I've borrowed the JR Ward series from a friend......am safe reading vampires right now because I'm not writing one!

Got my rejection back today from Ann Leslie. Letter had some important points for me to consider should I get the heart to rework it again.

Kristina I'm sorry......but like Celtic said...have your chocolate...maybe some wine.....and well, maybe another glass of wine and then take a long hard look at her comments....use them if you think it's the right thing to do and shop that baby.....Celtic is right..writing a full ms takes a lot of hard work, and well, you should pat yourself on the back that you've come this far.....on another note...when did you send it?  I think she's only had mine for three weeks.....I got a litte behind because of "life" and sent it two weeks later then I'd anticipated.....but, I'll be watching the mail!

Jules, I sent mine off right away. So about 7 weeks. Wine is already chilling since I had even worse news than the R today. Now all I need is chocolate and a babysitter!

Hey Mandy, still no word but I sent mine a couple weeks later...she's had it for 3 weeks now.....guess I will have to wait longer to get the yay or  nay....but......this manuscript has snagged me my very own agent!  I made the decision yesterday and confirmed with her....and can't even tell you how excited I am!

Good luck to everyone else and I'm sure we're all pretzeled for each other!

Hey Mandy.....well, it won't change anything other then the fact that I would have a professional sealing the deal so to speak....I have no clue about contracts and all that stuff.....good luck with your subs.......I think anyone who's planning beyond one or two books, it's in their best interest to have an advocate working for them that knows the business side of things inside and out.

I'm interupting your chat for an important, albeit quick question. We're going to do a Nocturne Bites pitch, my question is, would the ones who'd want to participate in this be able to have something ready by the week of July 7th? Or would you like the time to prep, even though I did warn y'all this might be happening in July. If you don't think you can have something asap, we're looking at the latter part of August.
