My question.  When is book three out?

Hi Patrice, Jachim & Landon, I have to tell you that I finished Scions: Insurrection the other day and I really enjoyed the story.  When I come away from a book wondering what will happen next says a lot

So...Jachim & Landon, how soon are you planning on adding to your families.  Do you want large families and do you see your children carring on your legancies. You're both sure to have a brood that is strong and stubborn

Patrice, do we get a sneak peek at the next Scions hero?   Pleeeeeese. I can't wait.

Jachin: I'd have to say we're planning on children in say...six months or so, since that's Ariel's due date. Ariel wants at least three children. As for me, I'd love more..we'll see if I can't convince her. *sly grin* I can't wait to hold our child--the first Scions/Human offspring, proof of just how far we've all come. Ariel is my heart. Every time I look at her I'm reminded how lucky I am and how she has made all of this possible.

Landon: *raises eyebrows* Kids? Damn straight, I want a whole brood of pups. I can't wait to find out what powers they'll have. I'm hoping for at least one redhead who looks just like her gorgeous mom, though heaven help ANY wolf who looks at her the wrong way until she's old enough to make her own decisions about a mate. *unapologetic shrug followed by popping knuckles* I'm kind of protective like that.

I guess this could be a question for Landon or Jachin since they're both familiar with the whole process:

We know from the books that the Lupreda were created in a petrie dish with no parents.  I was wondering how this came about.  This was done in a lab - is that where they were incubated? I'm assuming there was no human incubation.  Was the end result baby or adult Lupreda?

The Lupreda were created in a lab. The result were baby Lupreda that matured physically at a very rapid rate to adult size. They were physically and mentally capable of higher intelligence once they reached adult size, but their full maturity development happened much slower, much like that of a human.

Okay, first I just want to say that I LOVE these 2 books!  I really can't wait for the third.  Jachin is by far my favourite character though.  But, my question is more to do with the Lupreda's.  I'm rather confused on how they can have children when they were just..created.  How does that work?  I would think that the only way more could be..born, would be the same way the first ones were, in a pteri dish, as part of a scientific experiment.  I mean, it's great that they can have children, I just don't get it.  (Then again, that could just be cause I'm blonde, heh.)  Sorry, but I kept thinking that during the entire second book, it was just a major point of curiousity for me.  Thanks, and keep up the great work on the books, Patrice!

I'll try my best to answer your question. Humans have been created in a Petri dish, too (ie the two components that it normally takes to make a human *g* have been merged in this clinical way). What I mean by that is that scientists have done amazing things with genetic manipulation and such, so when I said the Lupreda were created, the Vampires who created them started with some samples and manipulated--in my unscientific mind it would be some kind of transgenic animal with basic wolf DNA that was further manipulated with human DNA. And please * she begs nicely * don't ask me details on how that was done. Oy! I'm no scientist. I’m just an author with a vivid imagination. LOL!

Landon: Ignore him, my Lupreda would keep you very busy, Ali...so busy that you'd decide shapeshifters are far sexier than vampires.

Jachin: *smirk* We possess seductive powers the Lupreda don't.

Landon: *snort* Primal intensity is all the power we need, Jachin.

Patrice: Ah, well, I see BOTH men are already vying for you to check out their clan and pack to see for yourself, Ali. *laughs*

In answer to your question, all the heroes I write are a conglomeration of many appealing characteristics I've observed in real people, in characters in movies, books, etc. I'm very honored that you love my heroes so much. I do, too, even if I am a bit biased! *g*

Did any of your characters change mid way through a story? If so, how do you handle that as an author?

There isn't any character who "changed" midway through a story, but Mira DID take on a much larger role than I had originally anticipated she would when I first decided to write her into Jachin and Ariel's story in SCIONS:RESURRECTION.  Also, her background surprised me because I had no idea it was so heartwrenching.  All of this came to me when Vlad first spoke to Mira in the Sanguinas manor....and the rest just wrote itself. :)

Hi KimP! I'm so glad you found Landon's story in Scions:insurrection an emotional read. That's a wonderful compliment. It was definitely an emotional story for me to write! 

In answer to your question, whenever I write books, secondary characters often demand for their story to be told, so we'll see what happens after book 3. I'm thrilled you'd like to see more of my Lupreda.  Werewolves are verra primal and sexy creatures for sure. :)

Thanks for answering my question, Patrice.  It just was hard for me to comprehend somehtign that wasn't born itself giving birth to something else..if that..makes sense..x.x *gets dizzy from all the thinking* lol.

In the first two books Scions:Resurrection and Scions:Insurrection, the heroines are different by the end of the story. Not in the "100% changed" sense you're referring to, but they've definitely taken on some characteristics of their mate's species. 

Hi Patrice, I love the books. I just have a quick question for Jachin and Landon, and its sorta like another question that was asked.

I'm..umm..*coughs* different from the norm..w..would there be any  Sanguinas or Lupreda, male or female, that would go for a funny, sensitive and all around good guy like me? *grins* What? I tried to ask that in a PG way. *laughs*

Also, for you Patrice, and you dont have to ask this if you dont want, but is third book going to be about one of the Velius, or another Lupreda (possibly Caine?)

Landon: Lou, I'm glad you've enjoyed getting to know some of our pack members.  You'll have to check out the rest of the Lupreda and see what you think about shapeshifters.

Jachin: Lou, You haven't spent near enough time with the Sanguinas.  Patrice will have to make sure you're introduced to more of my clan in other stories. That'll help you decide that vampires rule wolves any day.

Hero from book 3: *shakes head in amusement*  You two are full of it.  Lou, check out book three.  Options...yeah, that's going to be a very important concept for me.

You enticed me away from the Nocturne thread with the lure of those cards.  I'm still waiting on the errant postal service to deliver Scions #2 and beginning to salivate over Scions #3.  Can't wait!  I do hope Mira gets her own story sometime.  Talk about a wouned heroine who needs to find her soulmate!

Hi Patrice:

          I just downloaded SCIONS: INSURRECTION which is my fifth "Bite" but the type is so small, even at the highest setting I can get, that I am having trouble reading it.

        You probably have nothing to do with type size but could you mention it to the editor? The other "Bites" had very big, easy to read, type. I don't know why they did not do it in your case because it's not like they were trying to save on printing costs. Just curious and this is something you might like to know.
