Here you go!
Here's the basic conference lineup as I know it. If I missed highlighting anyone or anything, let me know and I'll add it to the list.
As you can see, I have not yet schedule our usual breakfast meetings. If anyone has a preferred time, let me know. I'm leaning towards Thursday a.m., before the general session, since it's always good to start off with familiar faces, but I'm open to your suggestions.
I will be attending both conferences so I hope to meet up with as many folks as I can.

RWA
Wow! I get to get to be the first commenter after Dream. I'm going to RWA, but I don't think I'll make ACFW this year. We have a family trip to a wedding in Buffalo, NY, planned for the following weekend, and that might be too much traveling. Breakfast onThursday is fine for me.

Are a lot of people going?
I'd love to go to the ACFW NAtional Conference (Colorado is just next door to Nebraska, even though Denver is still 550 miles from me!). Who is going? Who's gone before? Did you LOVE it? Sounds like fun!

RWA and ACFW
I'll be at both conferences this year (Yaaayyy). In fact I'm presenting two workshops at RWA. I love both conferences (mostly for the chance to catch up with long distance friends I don't see otherwise). I had to miss ACFW last year so I'm really looking forward to being there this time around.

ACFW
I've been to the ACFW conference for three years now. I always come back fired up! What I most enjoy is the encouragement of the people (soooo sweet!) and the mutli-leveled tracks so you can pick the content best suited to your level of writing. I also sneak in a meeting with my agent (also very sweet), and last year I got to hang with my Steeple Hill editor too. Fun! All in all, it's a great time! Go, if you can! Dana

ACFW
I love ACFW... It took a lot of arm twisting by some of my friends to get me to join and go to my first conference, but I'm really glad I did. I didn't think I could justify the expense, since I already go to RWA and that's an expensive conference, but now I wouldn't miss it for anything. It's just such an encouragement to go and be with folks who "get" what you're writing. I've noticed the past couple of years at RWA, when I've told people that I write inspirational romance, they get strange looks on in their eyes, and suddenly end up having someplace else to be.
Plus, some of my best friends are at ACFW and we always have such special time together. I think the thing I hate the most about the relationships developed here on the boards as well as with other writers through loops and things is that we're all so far apart. I'm so thankful that long distance is now free and that in the age of cell phones, my closest friends are all in my "network" so we are able to talk frequently. Still, nothing beats a hug in person.

I plan to be at the RWA conference in DC even though it is expensive! I keep wondering if it's worth it, but every time when I go I come home and think 'yes, it was' so I'm planning to be there.

I am considering going to ACFW, but am wondering if it will benefit an aspiring author who can't seem to FINISH a manuscript. I would have to take time off of school (I'm a teacher) to attend, so if it isn't beneficial I hate to give up the instructional time.

Conference benefits
Jill, so great you're going to be there! I hope you can join us for breakfast whenever we decide on. It would be great to meet you.
I'm sort of leaning towards Friday at this point. Anyone have thoughts?
So... benefits of conferences...
I'm going to tell a couple of stories on this, so bear with me. The first is involving relationships. I've been going to conferences for years, and for me, that's the most important reason I go. Some of my best friends in the whole world are conference buds, and they mean so much to me.
One thing to highlight with relationships, though, is how they build over time. A lady asked me today about how she would go about finding a critique group near where she lives and wanted to know how my critique groups started. I critique with a couple of amazing published authors, and she wanted to know how that happened. Well... it didn't happen overnight. First, we were friends before they got published. Second, we didn't know each other all that well, but over the years, we got to know one another online and hung out together at conferences. I really believe that face time at conferences is what helped establish and build those relationships.
The second value I see in conferences is that you don't know what you don't know. I recently went to a conference that was the first conference for a friend of mine. She debated for a long time about going because she didn't have a completed manuscript and didn't know if it would be of value or not. I wish I could have taken a picture so I could post it here to show you the look on her face as she told me how glad she was that she went. She learned just how much about writing she still had to learn and it gave her a lot of direction in terms of what she needed to do next. This gal is the sweetest thing, and before the conference, she had this attitude of "I don't know if I can ever do it," to not only believing she could be a writer, but what steps she needed to take to get there.
I find that I always end up learning things I didn't know, no matter what conference I'm at, or who's teaching it. I love sitting in a room, learning with everyone else. I always get a kick out of seeing a NYT bestseller sitting in the audience with me, taking notes to improve her craft.
All that said, you also have to be mindful of your schedule, your family's schedule, and your finances. There's a great conference happening right now at Glen Eyrie taught by Angela Hunt that I wanted to go to sooo bad. My friends keep tweeting from it and I'm so jealous! But I only had room in my budget for a couple of conferences and I had to choose. For me, summer conferences are the most expensive because my kids are out of school and I have to arrange childcare in addition to conference expenses. YIKES!
Keep in mind, that if you can't afford RWA or ACFW (which admittedly, are among the most expensive ones out there), there are a lot of great regional or local writing conferences that you can choose from.

Conference Benefits
Great post Dream. I want to second what you said about the ability to renew acquaintances with long distance friends and to meet new ones. Not to mention the opportunites to network with fabulous industry professionals. There's always something new to learn at the workshops and I always come away with new insights, but the people element is my favorite part.

I'll be at ACFW but not
I'll be at ACFW but not RWA. I really wanted to go since it was in DC, but it was just too expensive with the plane ticket factored in (I'd be flying from coast to coast). I regret that I won't be able to meet and talk with the Steeple Hill editors and authors.
However, I'm really looking forward to ACFW. I always have lots of fun talking with people and I always meet lots of new people every time I go. I met my writing mentor at my very first conference when we were waiting in line next to each other.
I agree with Dream that I've formed my closest writing friends via conferences, because how else can you meet someone you've known online just to make sure they're not an ax murderer? Especially those suspense writers who write about killing and kidnapping and blackmail.

Conference!
RWA will be my first big conference, too, Jill! I've been to some regional ones, which were fantastic, but I think the national conference takes it to a whole 'nother level!
I can't wait to see my best friends that live far away too, Dream. Brenda and I have been critiquing with each other since before there was even a SH board, when there was just a contest thread...now we do a lot less critiquing and a whole lot more talking (shh...don't tell our husbands...they think we're working)
I'm also moderating one of the workshops for my roomie, Cathy Mann. She's teaching High Octane Heroes on Saturday afternoon. I've heard bits of it and it's awesome! (and she gives great handouts!)
Can't wait to meet all the SH authors and editors and our very own Dream!! Breakfast sounds awesome and as of now, Friday sounds good.
Slightly excited,
Steph :)

Another Fabulous Conference
Wow, once again the RWA conference was awesome. The workshops were really great, but meeting other aspiring and published authors was the best part. Well, okay, for some people the agent/editor meetings were probably the best part!
Either way, friendships were made that will last a life time, if only by e-mail or once a year at the National Conference. Congratulations goes out to all of the RITA (published) and Golden Heart (unpublished) finalists who won!!!!! Look forward to seeing everyone again in Nashville.
For everyone who attended the conference: how many books do you think will contain a fireman or a scene with a fire alarm evacuation at the right (or wrong) time in the next few years?
Special Shout out to Brenda Minton and Stephanie Newton, it was great to meet you both (and I'm sure you were happier with the water than the pepsi - lol)!

Home again...already looking forward to Nashville...well, maybe after I get a little sleep!! Itreally was so much fun meeting people. My favorite place to hang out was the lobby because I could just sit and chat with all the interesting people who came by!

Home at last!!
Yesterday was the longest day of my life and I am still exhausted.
LOL @ the fire alarm!! We were on the 9th floor, so you can imagine our trek. The funniest part was that roomie and I both grabbed our laptops. We felt like dorks since no one else seemed to be carrying theirs, but there was no way I was leaving mine behind!
It was so good meeting everyone. I was sad Jodie couldn't hang out with us more. LOVED getting to know Steph and Brenda. They are definitely keepers. Kathy, did we meet? Right now, I'm not sure if I'd remember my own name!

I'm not wearing shoes next year. I'm going to be on a search for the cutest flip-flops evah.
My feet are a mess. My car has been in the shop and I can't even walk down the street for a diet coke (and chocolate of course, because why WALK to the store and not get chocolate??) I offered a while ago to pay my son fifteen dollars to go get me a diet coke. No dice. This is why he should not have his own money.
Dream, it was so much fun getting to know you after all these years on the boards!

I'm back home finally. It was good to see so many LI authors there and meet a number of them for the first time. I spent Sunday and Monday with my daughter and her husband in Baltimore, although we did a little side tour on Sunday in DC. I've been to DC several times and have seen most of the the monuments, museums, White House, etc., but I had never been to the Jefferson Memorial. I had always seen it from a distance. They had pity on me and took the Metro down so I could go to the Jefferson Memorial. Then we trekked over to the WWII Memorial. Arrived home around noon to my house that is torn up while we wait for our new carpet and the tile for our shower. Tile and carpet have been back ordered for about a month. Hopefully, in another week, everything will be done, but then I have to put everything back in order.

I agree the lobby was a great place to meet new people! :) Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Dream, but I'm looking forward to Nashville and hope to meet you there! :) I'm begrudgingly getting back to the real word too, unfortunately for me, that still includes Northern Virginia traffic! LOL That said, it was a nice break to be close to home and not be "at" home! And don't feel bad about grabbing your laptops during the fire drill, I had my USB drive in my bag the entire conference, if I was going to lose my laptop (fire, stolen, drop it down the elevator shaft, etc.) it wasn't going to have the only copy of my manuscipts! :)
Kathy
LOL!
Smart..very smart, Kathy! I email my projects to myself at the end of every day, but I need a new USB drive. I have an external hard drive, but it's a pain.
I'm jealous of you gals who are going to get to see each other again in Denver at the ACFW conference. I'll be deep in school stuff with my kids by then. Is there an award for the mom who drives the most miles in a week?

Ah, school...
Steph, I hear you!! Although I'm very lucky in the driving department. My little one is finally in kindergarten this year (HALLELUJAH!!), and we live a couple of blocks from school, so we walk every day. They have dance lessons, but my neighbor has a dance studio in her basement and we walk there too. The only driving I'll have to do will be in late August, when soccer starts, but we're fortunate to have the kiddos on teams that practice fairly close to the house, so it's not a bad trek.
The good thing about ACFW is that it's actually almost easier for me, since the kids are in school and I don't have to do too much re-arranging to get childcare, since they'll be in school while hubby works. Although... now that I'm thinking about it, I may have to figure something out. Cheryl Wyatt's hubby does all the sound for them, and since my hubby lives in town, he's going to be giving him a hand with things. Yikes! Guess I will be doing some schedule coordinating.
I didn't think about the flash drive idea!! Although, I have an online backup service, so I think it should be okay. But still... it doesn't hurt to be extra paranoid. :)
And yes, definitely, let's meet up in Nashville. I try to put up a conference discussion at least a month prior to the conference, so we can coordinate things there.

ACFW Tea?
I just thought of this... some of you may remember, that 5 years ago, when the conference was in Denver, we all went to tea. I realize now (I didn't know then, sorry!) that we took off in the middle of the conference to go, but it was super fun. Would folks be interested in going to tea again this year? It's about 45 min from the conference hotel to the tea place we went to last time (which is super yummy). There's another tea place we can go to that's more casual, and it's about 30 min away. Thoughts, anyone?

I would love to go for tea on Sunday afternoon. Last year I was gone by noon because I was heading north to visit my mom. But I wished I'd been able to stay with some of the others for 'closure'.
