Thanks for the congrats, Donna and Mary Beth!  Y'all have been around to give me plenty of hugs.  Thanks, Jennifer and Sapphire--I still can't believe that's my name up there.  I about choked when I saw it on the main forum page. 

The details...I was paying bills at the desk in the office and the phone rang.  It's the big phone/fax machine with no caller ID.  I didn't even think, just picked it up.  It was my agent.  She asked about our holidays, etc, and the whole time I was thinking she should just get to the rejection.  But then she said that she had some news that would make me very, very happy and told me that Melissa Endlich had made an offer for HER HEART'S PROTECTOR.  I think I said "ohmigosh" about a hundred times.  Then she asked if I wanted to accept the offer.  Uh....yes!  

There was no screaming and dancing until I got off the phone and then I think my kids thought I had gone totally around the bend. I did talk to Melissa later and she told me that the book will be a March 2009 release!!

Mmmmm ... yes, having read Steph's ms, I can vouch for the hunkalicity of her hunky cop. Is it March '09 yet?  I can't wait to see him bound up in the pages of a book. (I know, I know ... shame on me....)

Folks, I've read her book and it absolutely ROCKS!!  Steph has a to-die-for voice and a way with suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat to the very end.  I always had faith this party day would come.  What an awesome way to start off 2008!

Congratulations Steph!!!!   This is so exciting.  How long have you been submitting to Steeple Hill?  How long did you have to wait before you got the call?   This is a great way to start the new year!!!!!

Thank goodness I'm birthing a book and not a baby!  LOL.

I've been submitting to H/S for about four years and my longest wait time, including revisions, was about 17 months.  This time was much shorter, a matter of weeks instead of months, thank goodness!
