Family Ever After
New Online read from Linda Goodnight
Ashley Harcourt isn't hiding—she's just taking a break from places where people know her name. Where they know her secrets.
Once she's away from all that, she can truly start over and build a better life for herself. And her baby boy.
But Ashley realizes there's no escaping her past when she runs into an old high school friend, Christopher Sullivan. Chris has never forgotten Ashley—or how much he loved her. Seeing her again, he's convinced God has given him a second chance, and he isn't going to let her walk away.
But there's something she's keeping from him. Something that she thinks is so terrible not even God will forgive her….

A second chance story. How
A second chance story. How fun! I can tell that she is not going to give in to her feelings easily.

I can already see the potential for a really good story here. I, too, was surprised to see it pop up, billed as a Friday read, but who's complaining? Can't wait for the next installment!

Wonder what happened to her
Wonder what happened to her after Gabriel was born. Sounds ominous! Wish I could read this all at once.
The story is not familiar at all to me, so if it was on here before, I missed it.
Compelling
Chris and Ashley are very compelling characters. I love stories where there is real depth to the emotion between them, and I definitely feel that here.
I, too, wonder what her complications were and her deep, dark secrets. I can't wait to find out. Maybe, if we're lucky, this one was mislabeled, and we won't have to wait until next Friday to find out more about them.
Have a great Labor Day weekend, everyone!

so far and I look forward to the next chapter.

So Far Great Read!
I can't wait for the next chapter!

Wow, I wonder how bad her
Wow, I wonder how bad her past mistakes really are...
I wish this story was more often then once a week...
The greater sin
I don't know what terrible "sins" Ashley is hiding in her past, but the far greater sin, it seems to me, would be to throw away her second chance at happiness and, in the process, hurt Chris without giving him the opportunity to decide for himself how awful these secrets really are and whether he could live with them.
Funny how secrets seem so awful while you're hiding them. Then, once you tell someone who can put things into perspective for you, they don't seem quite as terrible as you'd built them up to be.
I love this couple, and, like papaya, really wish it were a daily rather than a weekly!

I just started to read this, so
I was blessed to read the first 3 chapters.
I'm also wondering what Ashley is hiding that she thinks is so terrible.
Really loving this story. Wish it was a full length book, so we wouldn't have to wait another whole week.
Ashely
I just finished reading the previous Tiny Blessings book, which would have been set 10-12 months before this. I get so connected to the characters - I'm glad she and the baby are doing good. I can tell this is going to be a great story, and I can't wait for the next installment
Where do you find a listing
Where do you find a listing of the Tiny Blessings books? or is there such a thing?
She really had her
She really had her confidence and self esteem knocked low somewhere along the way of life...
I really wonder what is holding her back... guess I'll have to wait for next Friday... but I want fo know now!
Lots is going to have to happen
in one chapter to get this cleared up. I have a lot of the Tiny Belssings books but have not read them. I think I need to get them and read to find out what the problem is.

So enjoying this story
It is torture to have to wait until next Friday for the end of this story. I can't wait to see how Chris convinces Ashley that whatever she has done in her past is over and doesn't affect what they have now.

Linda, you're torturing us!
This is such a great story! I know that there will be an HEA, but I'm wondering how Chris is going to convince her that her secrets aren't as bad as she thought they were.
You're leaving us with a real cliff hanger today!
Forgiveness
I believe the key to Ashley's future lies in her willingness to forgive herself. She can't forgive herself so she finds it hard to believe she is worthy of the love from a good man like Chris. Chris reminds me of Boaz (who is a type of Christ) in the book of Ruth. He was Ruth's second chance as Chris is to Ashley. We are so fortunate to have the love of Christ--a God of second chances and new beginnings. I can't wait for the ending!!!
My Only complaint!
My only complaint it that the chapters are to short. A really good read so far. Will be back on Friday 19th for the next chapter!
God Bless, Shanell.
What a beautiful ending to
What a beautiful ending to this story! I love second chance stories and this one was great! I especially liked the message of living love and compassion!
I think you did a great job
I think you did a great job with that ending! I really like the part about compassion and living. You sound like the kind of Christian I could appreciate.

Great story, great ending!
Linda, this was the perfect ending for the story and a wonderful moral lesson for all of us: Live your faith rather than just preaching it.

Great ending to the story.
Glad that Chris is strong enough to stand up for what he wants and needs.

Thank you all!
Wow! The comments on here have really made the last 5 weeks special to me. I am so thrilled that you all liked Chris and Ashley's story. They were a pleasure to write about.
Oh, and for the person who asked about a listing of the Tiny Blessings books, those are probably out of print but I can get you a list if you're interested in hunting them up. Email me at linda@lindagoodnight.com
