The next best thing to getting the call

Is when one of your friends gets the call.

I am so excited for Camy!! Even better is the fact that I'm in town for RWA and we're spending some time together since she can't go to the conference. So I was RIGHT THERE when she got the call. I'm just dancing with excitement!

So I'm going to share the Dream version of Camy's call...

We'd just had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (who knew? It was a pre-celebration celebration) and decided to stop by Border's. Um, yeah. Like we could resist.  

Anyway, we were walking through the store, doing a little market research, and her phone rings. It's her agent. I have to give Camy credit, she was very professional, no screaming (what fun is that?), and they got down to business. But afterwards, of course, we were pretty happy.

We celebrated by doing what a good author does best, and re-arranged the bookshelves since the Steeple Hill books were all out of order. Ah, a writer's job is never done. 

She's sharing the news, and since we all know it's my job to have a party when one of our folks sell, well, I just had to get it started. I'll be hanging here with her for a bit more, and you can bet that we'll be having some fun.

And Dream for being there today when she recieved the call. How very exciting. I'm afraid I'd have been screaming in the middle of Borders and crying. So glad one of us can handle it professionally and with style and grace.

Way to go Camy!!!  Congratulations!!  You've got some good company in the Suspense authors so I know they'll welcome you proper when they hear.  And,how exciting to have Dream there when you got the call!!

The story is set in a day spa in Sonoma, California. The heroine is a massage therapist whose father owns the spa, and she's being groomed to take over for him. Then she discovers the dying woman bleeding all over her massage table...
