Without a Trace: Can you solve the mystery?
Without a Trace...
Will a young mother's disappearance bring a bayou town together... or tear it apart?
This exciting new continuity from Love Inspired Suspense brings a special challenge to its readers.
Can you find the clues to the mystery?
Last month, we had a great time searching for the clues in Patricia Davids' book, Cloud of Suspicion. Congratulations to Hope for winning that prize! This month, we're looking at the release from Roxanne Rustand, Deadly Competition, and clues from that book. If you haven't read it, you can click here to purchase a copy.
This month, we are changing the contest. Each week, I am releasing two clues to the mystery. Discuss them here. For each clue you discuss, you will be entered into the drawing for a prize from Roxanne Rustand
The clues are:
1. Earring
2. Bayou
If you want to get a jump start on next month's challenge, be sure to pick up the next book in the series, Her Last Chance by Terri Reed.

So I'm looking for a picture of an alligator? Sort of like how we hunted for the ground hogs? Or am I misunderstanding? Thanks!

now time to start looking. Too bad I can't just look around where I live. Here in Florida, alligators are EVERYWHERE! Even in the retention ponds at places like Walmart!

When I was visiting my aunt
When I was visiting my aunt as a little girl, we were going swimming across the street at a pool but couldn't because there was an alligator in it. Boy, that has stuck in my mind for YEARS.

Margaret, I'd remember that too. Even at my dad's in Florida, we have to be on the lookout for gators. He's got a screen around the pool, but I still check!

...the bat hangs out in the cave...does that count?
Seriously, when we spot the alligator, do we e-mail you, Dream? (I was so busy reading the posts, I'm sure I wasn't paying proper attention.)

The Clue! The Clue!
Sorry, I got sidetracked tonight, but here I am... with a clue.
The hero drove a snazzy sportscar that played quite the role in the story. Find it, tell me where you found it, and email me at dream.eharlequinhost@gmail.com to be entered in the drawing.
And, to liven things up a bit, chat here about the significance it played in the story. If you do, you get an extra entry in the drawing!

Is it too hard?
I had the opportunity to see BOTH Robin Caroll and Margaret Daley yesterday. They were in town for some meetings, so we chatted a bit about the Scavenger Hunt. One said she couldn't find the car, the other said she found it just fine.
So do you need a clue?
Or do you want the chance to prove you're a better finder than one of the authors?

RE: Too hard?
Sorry I've not been in here much in the past week to answer this before now. But thought I'd give my two cents.
I actualy have not even attempted this hunt. Why? I just plain don't have time to hunt all over the place for clues. And while I understand using pages outside of the Harelquin forums to make people aware of them, I don't like when stuff like that is done. I don't like being "forced" to go to a completely different website where most of the time if you don't alredy have an account, you have to make one, to see these typs of things.
So is it too hard? I don't know since I've not tried to find the clues. Is it too time consuming though? Yes. I have so little play time on the internet the last hting i want to do is a scavenger hunt. I don't even enter author contests and stuff if I have to "do something" other than just sign up. Haven't done Penn's scavenger hunts since her first one either for the same reason.

Apologies and Thanks
First, I want to apologize for not putting up the clue... this week has been one crazy um, adventure. Yeah, we'll call it that. :) However, I am posting the clue within the hour, so have a look. It'll be somewhere in the blogs. Like um, Steeple Hill related blogs. :) And this clue is so cool, you won't want to miss it!! Robin did a really cool thing in putting the clue together. :)
Kelley, thanks for the feedback. I understand about not having time to search for clues. Hopefully, though, other folks are having fun looking for them, and enjoying it.
And of course, if anyone has ideas as to how to make our game more fun, do let me know! Or if you have suggestions for something else you'd like to see... drop me an email. dream.eharlequinhost@gmail.com

Significance
For the significance of the two clues.....who would have ever thought that Max's own mother would have used his car to drive out to the site where Dylan's body had been found. Then plant Ava's locket in the her brother's pocket. They new for sure it was his car because and eye witness and the cast made from the tires. They figured out the frame because his mother still had the gold chain the locket was on. Max had left that in his car. Ava confronted her about this outside of the police station while Sam stood back and listened.
