New Challenge

In 1000 words or less write a story featuring a hero and heroine to meet any of the six following scenarios:

  • 1) Any scene which would be clearly identified by the reader as Romantic Comedy (I can't remember anyone doing a comedy.)
  • 2) The key scene in an "amnesia" theme romance
where either the hero or heroine gets his or her memory back all at
once. (This is often the most dramatic scene in the book.)
  • 3) The key scene in a "hidden child" theme romance
where the hero finally realizes that the heroine's child is his. (This
is often the most dramatic scene in the book.)
  • 4) The key scene in a "marriage of convenience"
theme romance where the heroine realizes that she has fallen in love
with her husband. (The last sentence of the chapter often reads
something like "She had done the unthinkable. She had fallen in love
    with her husband.")
  • 5) The key scene in an "adolescence crush to adult"
theme romance where the older hero sees the heroine as a woman for the
first time and not as the little brat who used to follow him around
    years ago.
  • 6) The key scene in a "runaway bride" theme romance where the bride, in full bridal dress, runs into the hero who rescues her.

I hope one of these scenarios will stimulate enough creativity to produce a lot of entries from our very talented group.

Entries may be posted on Thursday 16 October and
Friday 17 October. Judging will be done on Saturday 18 October and the
winner announced on Sunday 19 October.  This is being posted on
Saturday so you have an extra day to work on it.

           Good luck and Good writing.
