Writer's Challenge 2

Misty~LOL!  I kept trying to find it before it was set up!  It was getting a little confusing!

i was hoping to get the first post  ah well, glad to know everyone is beginning to find it.

btw, anyone interested in reading the expanded version of my last challenge piece? word of warning: it went sort of Blaze/Spice on me...   with a little work, I may have the courage to sub it.

WRITERS' CHALLENGE

Post your entries between midnight (Eastern) on Friday, May 2 and midnight (Eastern) on Saturday, May 3, 2008.  The winners will be announced on Sunday, May 4.

Here are the rules:

1. 1000 words or less.
2. TWO heroes, ONE heroine. (Not polyamory...I'm aiming more for some sort of conflict, treachery, breakup, etc.) 
3. These three characters cannot be human. (They CAN be sci-fi, supernatural or fantasy characters, animals, inanimate objects that have been personified, etc...)

This challenge is fabulous.  Now I just have to come up with an idea. LOL.You said "not human" so is a non-human that looks human okay? (like a vampire, shape -shifter, fairy, etc...)

Glad I found the place. ;)

Got an idea for the challenge today. Just need to develop it a little.

Stargirl - I think Heidi said those things were okay. I sure hope so, my idea might involve a little shape shifting. *g*

I'm planning on entering the desire contest, too. I'll be starting my ms in a couple of weeks. I'm currently working on my nocturne submission but once that gets out the door, I'll work on the desire pitch ms. I already have the characters and general theme on paper. Needs a little more fleshing out/backstory before I dive into the first draft, though...

 GL! We can cheer eachother on until the ms's are done! ;)

Do I think you're crazy?  NO!!!!!  I don't think I'm actually "ready" or "there" yet, but I'll never know until I try!

I have learned a lot through the few challenges I've done here.  I'm gaining (I think) skills and ability every time I put my writing out there for others to see.  

I'm surprised by the fact that I can see improvement in my own writing.  I suppose that when you reach "adulthood" and have multiple college degrees you just think you're as good as you're going to get.

It's nice to know that even a not so old dog can learn new tricks!!!!

Nice new room~ I am also going to be pitching for Desire.  Have started on my WIP but am finding myself having to go back to Alpha up my Hero from time to time.  I guess I like those funny, down to earth guys a little too much.

The current challange will be tough for me.  Not really into Nocture or sci-fi so if my entry comes out a little on the Enchanted Disney side... Well there is something to be said for singing cockroaches!

Nindespin... you have email...more than one. Forgetful me sent it without saying everything I meant to. Start with the oldest one first! LOL.

Thanks for helping judge the last challenge. I took to heart two of your points of critique (POV ambiguity & comma use - guilty...) and applied them to my expanded version of my challenge.

i have discovered the POV thing is my current bane and would like to learn from those who appear to be able to peg it quickly. of course, if you're too busy, i'll understand.

So much happening, I didn't get a chance to say what great entries we had for last challenge!  Loved sending out critiques to those who asked.  And sharing 2nd with Vince, that was awesome!  Flyingheidigirl and Nini, congrats too! 

Well, back to impromto Spring cleaning, curtain making, and working on my Romance WIP, which seems to want to be a Presents.  Sigh.

I was going to make my scene in to a short story, but I'm thinking I might hold on to it. When my writing gets better, I think I might turn it in to a MS.

People pitching for Desire, I would like to help. I'm not very good at grammer, but I do read Desire. So I can critique as a reader, if anyones interested. 

Just a quick hi.  I have 29 more days of school left, thank goodness, and then a summer without students.  I think, hope, pray, beg the Gods, that i can find the time to write.

Mom's doing much better.  She'll be moving to a rehabilitation center for a while, to get back on her feet.

On another note, i was just reading the posts and wondered where we all chose our sign in names from.  Did we do this before?  I can't remember.  But i'll bet there's a story there somewhere.

I chose my name because I really don't have any romance in my life. Not like what I read in my Harliquin books.

We don't use the term "not a writer" or "not published"...we say  that we're

 "PRE-PUBLISHED"...........and that's directly from a friend of mine who's an author...Jenna Mills.  She used a few capital letters one day on an IM and stated that i was "prepublished" and that i am a writer...
