NaNoWriMo 2009: The Sign Up Sheet

nano2009
November is National Novel Writing Month! Will you be joining in with us as we write, challenge and support each other through a month dedicated to writing?

If you're up to it, sign up here with your intended goal for the month and November 1st, start writing! No part of your project written prior to Nov. 1st will count toward your total. Each day, you'll head to the NaNo page and report your total.

All projects are welcome! Here is the list of NaNo options:

Novella NaNo--A single project that is up to 25,000 words
Novel NaNo--A single project that is expected to be more than 25,000 words, but less than 100,000
Single Title NaNo--Going for the Gold? A single project that is aimed for 100,000 words or more.
Build Your Own Nano--Set your own goal, even if it's to finish multiple
projects to meet a certain word count or a set number of words per day.

So, sign up and decide which kind of NaNo is YOUR kind of NaNo!

I'm in

Goal: Novel NaNo - finish current single title project and HP novel. Good luck to everyone entering!

Maya

I'm in, too!

Thanks, Dee, for setting this up!

I have a book I'm finishing. My goal is at least 1,000 words per day, but I'm shooting for more.  (And to keep reporting on said goal--my usual stumbling block, for some reason.)

 Best of luck to everyone!

Think I might sign up this

Think I might sign up this year too. Trying for a 50k Modern Heat.

Good luck everyone!

I'm in

I've got write-ins and meet & Greets scheduled for my hometown for NaNoWrimo.  I'm doing their 50k goal and it's going to be a suspense or intrigue.  I'm totally psyched because it was not the plot I had planned at all but it came to me.  The downfall is that the characters haven't told me their names yet LOL.

Alright, here goes nothing.

I am so excited to start a new project.  I love new projects.  I am SO in!

Think I'm going to work on a Presents!

I'm going to try it again

I'm trying this again this year.  I didn't do very well last year but more prepared this time.  I hope.  Still mapping out my WIP aimed for either AR or SR.  This will be my second novel.  Feel like I sort of know how to go about it now.  Good luck to all!

I'm in!

This is my first time doing NaNo with Harlequin, although it's my third NaNoWriMo.  I'll be doing the 50K goal as per No Plot, No Problem!  I'm going to write a HHistorical, but I'm shooting for 50K still and I'll try and finish it the next month if I'm not already burnt out.  I am really excited--finally!!  I'll be using yWriter5 for the first time this year as I LOVE it!

This is also my first Harlequin NaNo, and my second time doing NaNoWriMo.

My Goal: Novel NaNo - aim for 44,000 words. I've already started my Modern Heat novel so my goal is to complete the first draft this month.

Good luck everyone :)

this is going to be

this is going to be exciting. :)

I'm working hard on a

I'm working hard on a romantic suspense, so I'll give it a go!  :-)  I'm about 20K into it, so I pledge to finish it, which means a total 50-60K by the end of Nov.

I'm In!

I'll be using NaNo to finish the Modern Heat I started for the Presents contest. Then if all goes well I'll finish off a short story I started ages ago to bring me up to the 50,000 word target. I failed miserbaly last year so I'm determined to crack it this year!

I'm in for a Novel Nano.

Once I write the ms, I'll switch over to the Build your Own and clean up a few projects.

Looking forward to it :-)

As I have never written a novel, only outlines, I am looking forward to the challenge.

I will attempt to write 5 to 10 ms pages a day. However, I haven't a clue as to what I will write about!  Guess I need to get crackin' on an outline.

I am looking forward even more towards the support that everyone brings... :-)

So, here is to a successful month of tippity tappity finger typing fun!!

Oh it's on now.. I'm already signed up and ready to rock and roll.

Writers don't get mad, they write books!

Build your own!

I always like a bit of DIY!

My Nano isn't word count based, I need to reverse word count! I have a 60,000 word plus mess in progress- OMG why did I write that chapter, and that one and that one- total disaster area of a first draft.

I want it reduced to a taut trim and terrific less that 50,000 word rewritten second draft by the end of November.

Because we all deserve a happy ending!

Well I've signed up with

Well I've signed up with NaNo but I'm not doing romance I'm doing YA.  So as it's not aimed at anything Harl or Sil, I won't be posting any progress here.  However I will drop by to check out everyone progress and read fave lines.  My fave part of Harlequin NaNo LOL.  So good luck everyone who is joining in.  :)

Me Too!

NaNoWriMo - official rules & count - 50k, new material - I'm already signed up on their site, but eHarlequin is cozier, so I'm signing up here as well.

Haven't decided which project yet - got a lot of voices yammering in my head - but I will have something determined by Sunday, Nov. 1.

I recommend Dr. Wicked's Write or Die for individuals (like me) who need encouragement to stay on task.

SandySue, even though your project isn't targeted for Harlequin, we'd still like to hear your progress & cheer you on.

Good luck & good writing to all!

I'm on the fence about

I'm on the fence about signing up this month. NaNo in a busy month is kind of nuts.Wink And who knew going back to full time would take such a huge chunk of my writing time?

Can we wait until the last minute to sign up?

Rascal...

I loooooove Write or Die- I used it a lot to keep me on target while first drafting. I've had no problem with it, but a writing buddy told me it crashed her computer. Not to warn anyone off using it, but you might want to set  a restore point first and save your writing regularly, just in case....

Because we all deserve a happy ending!

Answers...

Hales--This is the sign up sheet. I'll be adding a link on Nov 1st to the NaNo page, where we'll be leaving our daily totals. :) We're not terribly official here, so this is all the sign up you have to do.

Pizaseven--Yup, this is separate from the Official Nano. It's our community version.

Rhyanna--you can write whatever you like for our Nano. It doesn't have to be geared to Harlequin lines.

Nancy--You can sign up at any time--or stop at any time, too. Lord knows I won't be able to do much Thanksgiving week.

That being said, I NEED to complete some editing AND write a short story by end of Nov. Period. :)

Dee

hmm..

I have realized that my ideas come in "bursts" and I dont usually follow "daily word count"..And this being my first Nano, I sure want to give it a try !
Planning to complete the nocturne bite that I have been re-writing, re-plotting for a month now. So thats like 12-15K words.
Then I want to write a spice-brief - polish my existing short story I have already written (7K words) and write its continuity as a series. That may be anywhere between 10-12K words.
Hopefully start on chapter 2 of my presents competition entry (syn + chap1 submitted at last !) If I get to this point, I'd be happy !

Good luck and happy writing to all out here :)

Hi, I'm singing up as well.  I'm participating in nano and signed up for the 50,000 word goal but I hope to actually write 50-100,000.  Somewhere in between.  I'll be checking in here too because I love the community spirit!

Question Dee

Thanks Dee is there a theme for any E Harlequin I could aim to achieve. I'm currently not published anywhere until May but I have other works out. I'd love to aim a short or two depending on required length.

Good Day Ladies, I am

Good Day Ladies,

I am officially signing up for Novel NaNo. It is my first here and my goal is the 50,000 mark.

Thanks,

Mrs. Quill

That's good to know I can

That's good to know I can post my progress here.  Didn't want to step on any toes for not writing something geared for H/S.  If anyone wants to look me up on the NaNo forums I'm SandySue there, too.

Hi Sandy

Good idea sharing your NaNo name here too.  I am DandWH on NaNo.

Have a great month of writing.  I'm looking forward to the input and support I'm going to get here at E-Harlequin just as much from the NaNo site.   It's good to know that while it may be only our fingers on the keyboards, we are not alone in our writing.  I am so glad to have included the writing community in my circle of friends.

Happy NaNo'ing

Nancy, I agree that November is a terrible month, what with holidays, family and all - but think about it - if you can pump 50k in November, what can you do in a "normal" month?

At least on eHarlequin, you can soften your goal to your own situation.

And hey, I'm solidly grateful that they didn't pick December!!!

Ok Is Harlequin having a separate NANO from the main NANO Contest? I'm confused...sigh

besides trying to reformat hardrive on desktop as laptop goes into shop on Monday...

Rhyanna

Rhyanna - The NaNo you

Rhyanna - The NaNo you write for NaNo is the same NaNo you can post about here.  You don't have to write two stories.  The difference is eharl rules are more about meeting whatever writing goal you set for yourself.  Whether it's to complete a entirely new first draft or finishing up one already in progress.

Hope that helps.

Sandy

Rules have changed here

I noticed that since my first eHarl nano the rules have changed because then we were told to start a fresh project. We could plot and plan but no actual writing until Nov 1. No 'old' projects allowed, only new ones. Interesting. I need to get my current finished ms edited and ready to submit by New Years so I can see where this will be helpful. On the other hand- it might be confusing to keep accurate word count and daily progress on it.

So, though I want to begin a fresh and exciting nano project- maybe I'll try to work on my first ever nano wip this year instead. It's around 50K and going very slow (began in 2006) and mostly a time filler because I want it just right but have other projects I've written in between. I'm somewhere in the last quarter of the story with an end idea, but no end in sight. Need another 20K at least. But need to lose 20K in edits also, which leaves me with a 50-65K ms (hopefully) when done.

So- no matter which project I finally decide on- I'm in. Also on nano site as cmselfridge.

Happy nano-ing!

Me Too, Lisa

Lisa, I'm the same as you. I've always started new wips for Nano but this year my priority is to add 20,000 words to a requested ms and complete revisions on it.

I haven't been using Dee's monthly Nano opportunities because of the prob with counting words. But do you know what? For the past 2 wks I've been revising the ms I need to finish and since I'm basically reading and taking time with every sentence, I figured I may as well count it as if it were new. I mean, I can type up a new draft faster than I can revise. Why can't I use the actual word count? And  I need the actual word count to guage my progress. So that's what I'm doing.

So many new faces here, nice to see yours. :)
