If you sell a manuscript, please email Dee at laideebug@gmail.com
Are you a writer who is sending out queries and synopsis to HARLEQUIN / SILHOUETTE left and right, hoping and praying that someone will request your work for consideration and hopefully publication? If so, please tell us the following:
• Date you submitted:
• To whom you submitted:
• How long you've been waiting:
• Full, partial or query letter:
As extra incentive, we congratulate ourselves on each hard earned query send off and month waited with these Cyber Rewards.

Me? I am busy with puppies and have a deadline looming in July. My 12th book was accepted earlier this week -- so a quiet hooray. It still does feel special. Because there are always Crows of Doubt.

12 is awesome Michelle S!
Lacey - I SO know what you mean! I groan every time when I see the page counts getting up there for the subcare forum 'knowing' its coming--The change over. And every time when it comes I hope Dee(still love ya Dee) has left me a direct link. But alas...nope. And then I hold my breath as I go a searching. LOL This last time my youngest was trying to talk to me as I 'searched' and I was, 'Wait, wait! Just give me a sec!' afraid to take my eyes off the screen and lose where I'd been looking. :-) How crazy is that?!!
Hope you all are having a great week!

I find the best way to discover where the new subcare is to click on Recent posts and then click on the subcare forum from there.
And many thanks. I am very pleased about it. The pleasure does not really diminish, but this is because I know what it was like to be unpublished.. and those feelings don't go away. And it is really all about determination, dedication, desire, discipline and perservance. The only thing you can really control is your writing and trying to tell the best possible story.

So many people to congratulate!
All this good news gives me energy. Which is good. After deciding to write my second Desire manuscript in time for the pitch contest, I need all the oomph I can get. Fortunately, I learned enough from the first that I think editing will be a lot smoother.
Am I rambling and incoherent? Did I really decide to do it in a month? Oh noooooo! The juxtaposition of my current writing frenzy with knowing it might take a year to hear about my first sub is hysterical. Wait, that's me that's hysterical!
http://www.quinntellier.com
Awwww Cole...
I leave The Write Stuff Forum page with love! You come to the forum and check the discussion list--which is now at the top of the page, YAY!, and Subcare is usually right near the top. Just like in the older days. Direct links tend to leave folks unable to find their own feet. Think of me as the mama bird luring you out of the nest to fly, lol.
That's the thinking anyway. :)

Cole, The panic has set in because...
I made the decision on 5/13. Time is running out!
I just need to keep reminding myself that the reason is good. It's better that the one I thought I was going to use for the pitch contest got submitted (although it would have been better if it had gotten submitted directly to the right editor).
I got a very strange night's sleep last night, and it's clearly evident in my mindframe today. Mentally jittery, but physically tired. Time to snap out of it!

Mail Call
Well, got my postcard back in the mail today from Canada, so I know they got my Blaze and opened the envelope. Whew! Just as I was starting to wonder where that card had gotten to or if the MS had vanished into the postal system. :) Now the knuckle-biting over actually hearing from them can begin. *G*

Quiet
Wow, its really been quiet on here! Maybe its time for an update from everyone? Me, I'm still waiting to hear back on the requested revisions for my Presents submission. :-) And working today on fleshing out my characters of my new story a bit more. Realized I needed to stop writing and do that. So I'm hoping I'll be back to 'writing' again tomorrow. How about everyone else?
And Jax--I check your blog every morning to see if there is an anoucement! :-)
happy writing everyone!

Roll Call
This was one of those times when the title and date are set on the book before the book's actually been approved and so I'm waiting on revisions still. As the days go by I cross my fingers more and more. And I have my modern heat partial with my editor as well.

Michelle, congratulations on your 12th novel being accepted! You must be very excited! WTG! Jamie
Dee?
Dee in reading your last post I was a bit confused (others may laugh in "the bit" part), but are your leaving SubCare as our moderator? Congrats on getting your entry out there! Jamie
Jamie
I can see what you mean about Dee's post. I've been very scarce in subcare lately so have missed lots of news. Dee please fill us in.
Roll call. I have an entry in the RWA Valerie Parv award and I'm working on getting a full ms ready for the RNA NWS for the end of August. I haven't had a submission at M&B in Richmond for nearly two years now which is a strange way of trying to get published by Presents, the only line I'm targeting.
My output hasn't been great while I've gotten into the groove of having two very active boys, been managing a big building project on our house, and I've been focusing a lot on craft lately. After having two fulls requested by Presents and one getting to revisions, I felt like I was so close but obviously still missing the magic ingredient. So somewhere in my probably warped logic I'm working on the magic, then hopefully I'll be able to wow the Ed's so much they'll have no choice but to snap up my next submission!
Thanks for the nail bites
Thanks for the nail bites Steph and Jules! Mine are all gone.
And Cole, thanks for checking the blog! I have to stop myself from whining a lot on it. I'd love to have an announcement on it too. And at this stage, either a yes or a no would be appreciated. Ah well, am thinking of sending a little email at the end of the week just to check progress. In the 12th week now so am hoping that will be okay.
As to me, well, got three wips in the editing stages so if they give my current sub the old heave-ho, I'll have something else to send them.
http://jackieashenden.blogspot.com/
Three WIPa in editing stages!
Wow, I'm feeling like a slacker here working on one at a time.
http://www.quinntellier.com
Quinn, no, you shouldn't
Quinn, no, you shouldn't feel like a slacker! I'm just a compulsive story beginner, plus I get bored with a story quickly. Probably explains why I've got 25 years of story beginnings and no endings.
Anyway, I have found that the best way to keep the momentum up is to have several wips on the go at once so that if I get bored with one, I can go and do another. It works for me anyway.

Snagging more gems, and a teen line question...
Let's see, I get to pick up an aquamarine for the 3 month wait on my HQ teen line query sub, and I'm on the second month of waiting for the latest agent's requested full. Does anyone know how long the average wait is for queries to the teen line? Or when the teen line's first releases will be? I'm really looking forward to this new line, both as a writer and a reader, but haven't seen any updates as to when their first books will be out for sale. I could've sworn the press releases said it'd be March or April, but maybe that was when they would start accepting queries from writers instead?
In...
Nearly up to the three-month mark on my Nocturne Bites sub.
Hope everyone is well!
...and out!

Oy ve!
SORRY! LOL! It was a typo, I meant, "I leave The Write Stuff page link with love..." I'm not going anywhere, I promise. :) Also sorry I didn't fix this earlier, I was at another funeral today. Hubby's uncle. It was lovely, a military funeral that emphasized how much he loved his family. Interestingly, lol, I hadn't realized how much he'd traveled. Never too late to learn something new, right?
I've also been remiss in congratulating Michelle on book #12! WTG!!
And, if it's not too much trouble, could someone pass the bucket...the Noc lands in NYC tomorrow. *gurgle*

A little bit of everything
Donna - crossing my fingers with you! Got your newsletter and I can't wait to read your latest release. :-) I'm curious about the teen line--definitely looking forward to trying one(yes i do like to read teen books too :-) )
Dee - funny, I reread your post and still didn't see where they'd gotten the idea you were leaving... my brain 'put' in the missing word link each time I read it! LOL I guess it knew what you were referring to and thus... :-) And good luck on your submission - they're going to love it!
Carol C - Boy I'd say you're close! I can totally understand trying to find the time to write. Are you working on a book for Presents right now too? Or is that still in the thinking process?
Jax - LOL I've gone from dying to hear news from London to thinking...no news is still good news. There's still a chance. :-) The hubby ironically though is wondering regualarly what is taking them so long. LOL
QuinnT - I'm only working on 1 at a time too :-) As Jax said, you have to do what works for you. I used to be one who started but never finished. Tons of books started sitting on my disks. :-) So knowing this about myself, I've taken to being a bit more strict with myself and sticking to finishing one before starting another.
Elove - whoohoo!!!
Michelle W - did you find anything out? Are they having a release this month?
Okay, I'm off to write today! I figured out several important things concerning my characters yesterday. So much fun! :-) Have a good one everyone!

Tuesday
Michelle--I'm not sure about the Undones. I'll double check in my meeting today and get back to you.

Revisions
The wait on revisions is over and one more teensy tweak that I can't even truly call a revision and we'll put this one to bed.
I'm feeling quite perky since my editor said this one made her weepy and some other nice things. :-) I have to admit, every now and then a story just gets to you and this was one of those stories. I love Noah.
So now there's just the Modern Heat to fret over. :-)

Guys, I have news. No, not a sale but I think I'm going to be asked to do a second lot of revisions!! I know, sounds weird that I'm not sure but the EA whom I was dealing with sent me my ms by mistake then emailed me again to apologise and that she was meaning to send it to a colleague so she could send me revisions and that I would have feedback by Tuesday. Now I didn't think I was the type to agonise over each word in an editorial letter but the fact that she mentioned revisions means I'm going to get them right? Feedback wouldn't just be a flat out rejection?
Or am I being too much of a ditz and the fact that the word revisions means I'm getting revisions??
http://jackieashenden.blogspot.com/
Jackie, It sounds very promising.
I'm psyched for you!

OMG
Jax, that is soooooo exciting!!! They wouldn't bother asking you to revise once again unless they loved it!!! So happy for you

Hope you hear very very soon.

Joanne, no, next Tuesday I'm thinking.
