Do you believe in virgins?

I’ve heard a lot of people, readers and writers, laugh at the idea of a contemporary romance with a virginal heroine. I discussed the issue in the Dear Reader letter for my newest book:

Silhouette Desire Author Blog

Your Best Bargains!

What can I say? I'm a girl who loooooves a bargain?

It's so cool that I write books that I consider a huge bargain.

Silhouette Desires are cheaper than a movie ticket. Far less expensive than a live show or a concert, and I can read them again and again and again... I love knowing that I'm not breaking somebody's bank with my books. Since I buy Silhouette Desires too, I appreciate the value for myself as well.

This made me start thinking about all my bargains. I tried to explain bargain shopping to my husband. "It's like hunting is for a man. Bagging the deer with the huge rack with one shot."

So what are some of my best bargains?

Silhouette Desire Author Blog

I Can't Get No Respect Giveaway! Winners: Tammy, Kelley, and Jessiecue!

One of the very best perks of being a Harlequin author is that whenever I have a book released, Harlequin sends me boxes of free books to use for giveaways and as review copies, etc.. Granted, the books are all the same...but for a dyed-in-the-wool book lover, there's nothing like opening up those boxes and seeing all the fresh, lovely books! I look forward to this delivery like a seven-year-old kid looks forward to Santa.

You all understand that, right?

So here's what happened this weekend.

SINGING A DUET...

...or rather writing one, since even the people who love me beg
me not to sing.

It was nearly two years ago – another November – when I had a breakfast meeting with my editors at the plush Churchill Hotel in the west end of London to discuss what I’d write in the year ahead.

Harlequin Romance Group Author Blog

Treats and more treats

Last night was Halloween here in the States (and I'm feeling very ignorant, because I'm not sure where else in the world Halloween is celebrated). My kiddos came home loaded down with candy and we didn't even go to that many houses. But we live on a street with only four kids on it, so all the neighbors buy huge bags of candy and then give fistfuls to each kid.

Silhouette Desire Author Blog

My Favorite Hero: Dr. Caleb Burton

Dear Natalie,

Despite the fact you keep ignoring all my attempts at gaining your forgiveness, I know you haven't forgotten the amazing weekend we met any more than I have. Yes, I screwed up that weekend in Atlanta during the 3 day breast cancer walk where we both volunteered as part of the medical crew. But you have to understand; when I met you, you took my breath away and I just wanted to be me. Not a widower who'd lost his first love to breast cancer, not a single father struggling to be both mother and father to his five year old daughter. I didn't want the desire in your eyes replaced with sympathy, and let's face it, women look at men who are fathers in a different light than men who are single and carefree. That weekend I wanted to be single and carefree. I wanted you to keep looking at me as if I was the sexiest man alive. That weekend with you left me feeling whole for the first time in years. You make me whole again, Natalie, something I'd thought impossible after Jamie's death.

My Favorite Hero

Iron Amazon Ninja Unbreakable Hulk WonderWoman

My parents used to listen to an old Mills Brothers song that said, “You’ll never miss the water till the well runs dry.” I understood the line, of course. Intellectually.

But I was young. No well had ever run dry for me. So I didn’t really get it.
