In the notes at the end of the book, Gardner describes this as her most violent book yet. She isn’t kidding. But as challenging as the material is, I could not stop turning the pages until the chilling finale.

This book won the 2008 Romance Writers of Australia Romantic Book of the Year Award (judged by readers), the back cover copy sounded intriguing, and I launched in with high expectations which, unfortunately, led to disappointment.
