Queen's Bastard by C.E. Murphy

challenge_name:

This is a really tough blog for me, I enjoy this author, but this book didn’t work for me.  The premise sounds interesting and intriguing, Belinda is the bastard child of the Queen Lorraine (who strongly resembles the real Queen Elizabeth) and she is trained to serve as a secret weapon of her mother

Drop Dead Gorgeous by Linda Howard

Okay, here is my second keeper.  Once you read the first Blair Mallory book, you have to read the second. In this book, someone is trying to kill Blair Mallory again.  However, this time Wyatt doesn't believe it is true.  The two have some major issues to resolve as well.

To Die For by LInda Howard

Okay, here is the start of my keeper reads - TDF is one of my favorite books.  Blair Mallory witnesses a murder and fortunately or unfortunately Wyatt Knox reenters her life.  The two had had a relationship two years ago and Wyatt had walked away from her.

Read More - Read Less?

For the past five years or so, each year I have gotten into trying to read more books each year.  In a lot of ways, this has been great, it has expanded my reading habits and added a lot of new authors to the mix.  However, lately I have almost been feeling pressured to read.

Sex Straight Up by Kathleen O’Reilly (Har. Blaze)

challenge_name:

As I mentioned on a previous blog, I have been a bit wary of Blazes, the early Temptations that supposedly were the starting point, didn’t work for me and the one I tried just seemed too harsh to work.  So I was a bit hesitant to try them, but this book got great reviews so I decided to give it a shot.

Dead Over Heals by Mary Janice Davidson

I am not a big fan of anthologies, but MJD does a great job with them.  The first story is about Sinclair and Betsy and deals with their honeymoon in NYC.  Unfortunately for them, Jessica and Nick decide to tag along with them.  Even worse for all of them is when a child ends up dead in front of their hotel.

Last Wolf Standing by Rhyannon Byrd (SN 03 ’08)

Book 1 in the Bloodrunners series.  Mason meets Torrance, his life mate, in a coffee shop in the middle of a hunt for a rogue werewolf.  Blindsided by the feelings, he trips her to ensure she doesn’t get away.

The Baby Bet by Kate Little (SSE – 05 ’08)

challenge_name:

This is the third book in a series, which I didn’t know when I picked it up, but I think it reads well as a stand-alone.  Julia’s mother has gotten engaged again, after being married 4 times, you think she would hesitate, but no she has jumped in again.  Julia wants her to slow down, but once she meets her mom’s fiancee’s son, she understands a bit better.

Glory in Death by J.D. Robb (audio read by Christine McMuerto-Wallis)

Book 2 in the In Death series, has Eve and Roarke dealing with their relationship – will Eve be willing to open up to Roarke and is he willing to deal with her issues?  At the same time, Eve has some psycho slitting women’s throats.  Even worse, the first woman is a good friend of the Commanders putting lots of personal feelings on the line.

Blaze?

As part of my goal to expand my reading habit - at least what and who I read - I am giving Blaze a shot.  A quick briefer, I read the occasional Harl. Temptation, but wasn't thrilled with the early direction of the Blaze line, seemed all sex and no story.  Well, of course, I have been hearing for a while that Blaze's are so much more.
