The Shocking Lord Stanton-Regency

I was so glad this book was good. I am getting pretty jaded with the amount of historicals I read and the same old places/story arcs. Yes, the heroine is a governess, but her trouble is a unique one and the hero is fully fleshed. The secondary characters are great as well and the book kept me interested.

4.5 of 5 stars!

I did it! Now I'm scared.

I entered the Golden Heart! My first time and now I have to get my submission in. Kind of scary because now I am well and stuck.

I hope I don't run out of toner running all these copies. My hubby can put the full on a disk for me.

Anyone entered yet?

The Wedding Challenge- HQN Regency

This was a fairly good Regency offering. I am getting a little jaded though- when Vauxhall Gardens is the site of a tryst between hero and heroine my eyes tend to glaze over. I have read enough Julia Quinn that I am bored of Vauxhall as the only place a couple can be alone.

4 of 5 stars. If you haven't read a lot of this genre this may be fresher to you.

The Desert King #1896

I haven't read a Silhouette for a long time so I thought I would move out of my box a little.

The book was good for a short read. I wasn't particularly drawn in by the hero, Kamal, or heroine, Aliyah. I give the book 3 of 5 stars. It was well written but not exceptional.

The Imposter-the Liar's Club Book #2

This book has a unique plot in that the heroine is a society cartoonist, Sir Thorogood, and nobody knows who Thorogood is. I love Lady Whistledown in Julia Quinn's books so I liked the premise of this book.

Sins of A Duke

I really wanted to like this. I have read all of Suzanne's books and this is the only one I was disappointed in.

We all have waited for Sebastian's book and our expectations were high. I do not believe the heroine, Josefina, was worthy of him.

3 of 5 stars because I still like the rest of Sebastian's family.

The Pretender- The Liar's Club Book #1

Agatha Cunnington is searching for her brother, James and becomes Agatha Applequist to try and find him. Simon Rain thinks James is a traitor and Agatha his mistress.

Very good plot with a unique twist.

4.5 of 5 stars. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Desperately Seeking a Duke

Yes, I love regencies. It's what I write and what I read the most.

I won this book during a guest interview on Celeste on Fog City Divas. Celeste was moving at the time and late getting the book to me so she sent me two more to make up for the delay! As I always say, if an author is kind to me I will be loyal forever.

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Getting your Romance Published.

I love having how-to-guides at hand rather than printing stuff out or always checking the internet.

I especially love Part 2: Seven aspects of Highly Affecting Romances. This includes-plotting, characterization, pacing, voice, conflict, emotion and under the covers (sex and the romance writer.)
