The Night We Met

This is the first eBook I have read. It is a wonderful story of a lifetime of love shared between an unlikely pair. Eliza is about to enter the convent on the night she meets Nate Grady. Committed to dedicating her life to God, Eliza hasn't so much as second-guessed her choice--until one special night.

Trudy's Promise

This is a sad story of a mother who must leave her son in
order to secure his future free from communism. Trudy Hulst makes the courageous
choice to cross the Berlin wall
into Western Germany in an attempt to try to bring her
son across as well. Her journey takes her to the U.S.,
after she meets an American politician who promises to help her. This story

My Sister's Keeper

I have a confession: I have a bad habit of (sometimes)
flipping to the end of books to read the outcome before I get there. It's a
habit I have been desperately trying to break...and I'm so glad I was able to refrain
from reading forward in this book. This is a remarkable story of a young girl
who was conceived by her parents in their attempt to try to save their other

Same Time Next Summer

In my opinion, nothing says summer reading like a good book about summer romance. There is something so magical about first love, especially first summer love. This story is about Carloyn and Stephan and the way they affected each other's lives over time. Having spent every summer together as cottage neighbors, they grew up and eventually developed feelings for one another.

Loving Frank

This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I was very
excited to read it because I’ve always had an interest in Frank Lloyd Wright’s
architecture. I didn’t really know much about his life, so I assumed I would
find this book quite interesting. “Interesting” proved to be an understatement—this

The Mermaid Chair

I absolutely devoured this book over the weekend—I had been
looking forward to reading it for quite some time, as I have been a fan of Sue
Monk Kidd ever since I read The Secret
Life of Bees. This book takes place on a tiny island off the coast of South
Carolina. The heroine grew up on the island, but avoided

The Way Home

A quick, easy read about a woman who loses her memory after an accident. Her family comes to her side to help her remember, but in doing so, they are forced to face memories and situations that could tear them apart. Although this story was awfully predictable, I enjoyed it. :)

The Secret Dreams of Emily Porter

This was
an excellent summer read. Emily Porter is constantly trying to keep her
mother happy and out of her business. She satisfies her mother’s need to be
involved by making up little white lies about her personal life. But when one
of her fibs leads her to the man of her dreams, fate steps in and deals her a

The Time Traveler's Wife

When I first began this book and I realized it had a "fantasy" element, I was sure I wasn't going to enjoy it. I've never really enjoyed fantasies, but this plot was so rich and "believable", the fantasy element never bothered me. This is an unconventional love story, but a very interesting one. I'm curious to see how the movie measures up.
