Lori Devoti, Unbound:  I liked this a lot and wish it was longer.  Devoti uses Nordic mythology for her worldbuilding; the hero is a Hellhound, enslaved to an evil witch; her heroine a woman in a world essentially like our contemporary one, who doesn't yet know that she is a wit

 Colette Gale, Master: This was interesting; it's an erotic novel based on The Count of Monte Cristo, which mostly fits into the cracks of that novel, and comments on the novel's characters and time period.

Jennifer Stevenson, The Brass Bed: Oh, this was fun as well as funny and involving. The paranormal plot involves a Regency lord whose magician mistress punished him for being a crappy lover by turning him into a sex demon and imprisoning him within a brass bed until he'd satisfied one hundred women.

Caridad Ferrer, Adios to My Old Life:  a young adult novel featuring Ali Montero, a serious teenage guitarist and singer who is chosen for a reality show for Latin pop stars titled Oye Mi Canto.  This may sound like a cheesy fluff book, but it wasn't, not at all.
