Got a survey question...

I recently read a book where the H/H did not have sex until the last pages of the book after they were married. To me there was plenty of heated moments, times where the H had to walk away before things got out of control. Lots of heavy kissing, some touching, a pool scene that got out of control, but again the H had his reasons for not going all the way.

I read someone's review of the book. Two phrases stuck out:

"not as HOT & SPICY as some of the author's other works"

"even without the "HEAT"

Does heat=sex? Can you have hot and spicy without it?

I think you can. What do you think?

Acheron - Sherrilyn Kenyon (St Martin's Press) Aug 08

The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron. He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . .

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.

War has never been more deadly... or more fun.

Guarding His Body - A.C. Arthur (Kimani Romance) Jul 08

The ex-marine spoke with confidence and steely determination, but all Renny Bennett saw in his new bodyguard was a petite, doe-eyed nymph. Sabrina Dedune's feisty, take-no-prisoners attitude proved she took her job seriously. But suddenly the gorgeous body under that T-shirt seemed far more dangerous than any threat on his life.

Sabrina was good at her job, but this talented sculptor and his erotic works of art left her reeling. Staying focused was hard when her body ached to taste all Renny had to offer. But after one searing kiss, she was guarding more than his body. Now her heart was at risk.…

Her Lover's Legacy - Adrianne Byrd (Kimani Romance) Aug 08

Heir-apparent Malcolm Braddock may be the sexiest community activist under the Houston sun, but clearly he's met his match in Gloria Kingsley, the late senator Harmon Braddock's strikingly beautiful executive assistant. Both were recently spotted in a limo in a very…um…compromising position, and it appears Ms. Kingsley is influencing more than the brooding, lone-wolf bachelor's normally conservative sense of fashion (when she lets him stay dressed, of course!).

We can conclude that Gloria is on a mission to make No-Commitments-Malcolm her Mr. Right. But with rumors flying about Senator Braddock—and a few dirty little secrets that didn't die with him—can she get Malcolm to secure his father's mantle as well?

After all, spending 24/7 with Christy Delacroix isn’t exactly a chore. But it turns out that Christy’s seduction tactics are top notch and it soon becomes impossible to keep things strictly professional . . .

Christy is an uptown girl who’s spent her whole life being perfect. Now she just wants to have fun. And who better to have fun with than the gorgeous guy hired to protect her around the clock? They’re utterly wild for each other, in and out of the bedroom, but will Christy be able to convince Ben to give her the kind of pleasure that lasts a lifetime?

Always A Knight - Wayne Jordan (Kimani Romance) Aug 08

When he saw her onstage, Russell Knight was mesmerized by aspiring songstress Tori Matthews. Everything about her, from her soulful voice to her fiery personality, stirred a passion within him that he could barely contain. Would she be the one to change his playboy ways?

…that's all it took

Tori was drawn to Russell the moment she looked into the audience. How could anyone miss those devastating good looks and smoldering eyes? But just when things began to heat up between the two, her career came calling. Would she forgo the growing passion between them for a shot at stardom?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My thoughts: One of the things I loved most about this book is the progression of the relationship.
Keysha's Drama - Earl Sewell (Kimani TRU) May 07
Sixteen-year-old Keysha Kendall is a judge's signature away from foster care when she's sent to live with the father she never knew. Suddenly she has her own room in his big fancy house, a high-powered stepmother and a popular half brother who can introduce her to all the right people at her new school.
But Keysha can't forget where she came from. And she won't let anyone else, either. Why should her father and his perfect family have it so easy when she and her mother had it so hard? And so Keysha hooks up with a rough crowd and does whatever she wants…until what she wants changes real fast….
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My thoughts: I buy these books for my daughter, but I admit I enjoy them as much as she does.
