The Outlaw Demon Wails by Kim Harrison

challenge_name:

The Outlaw Demon Wails is the sixth and latest book in the Hollows series. The Hollows is one of my two favourite urban fantasy series, the other being Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld.

His for the Taking by Julie Cohen

challenge_name:

This book was originally published by Mills & Boon under the name Driving Him Wild, and, like most of the romance blogosphere, I agree that the original name was much better than the American. His For the Taking does not give justice to the feisty heroine Zoe, a NYC cabbie and fitness instructor.

Ghost World by Daniel Clowes

challenge_name:

Enid and Becky are two cynical teenagers in the mid-90s from a small town who have just graduated from high school and are trying to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives. They're into underground culture and hanging out at the local diner making up stories about the eccentric locals.

Face the Fire by Nora Roberts

challenge_name:

This is the last book in the Three Sisters Island trilogy. Mia was heartbroken when her childhood sweetheart Sam left the island, and she has never completely gotten over him. Sam decides to return to the island for good and must woo her back to him.

Heaven and Earth by Nora Roberts

challenge_name:

This is the second novel in the Three Sisters Island trilogy. Ripley is the sister of Zach, the hero of the first book, and also the deputy mayor. She's also one of the modern generation of the three sisters, much to her chagrin. Mac is an academic paranormal researcher who's come to the island for research.

Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts

challenge_name:

Dance Upon the Air is the first book in the Three Sisters Island trilogy. I chose this series as my first Nora Roberts because it is a paranormal, plus the premise of three "sisters" who were magically connected reminded me of Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters series, which is my favourite series of hers.

Charlie All Night by Jennifer Crusie

challenge_name:

This is the fourth book in the Crusie ebook bundle, and it's one of my two favourites, Getting Rid of Bradley being the other. Allie's a successful radio producer, and Charlie is an inexperienced DJ who doesn't want to succeed. Needless to say, conflict and wacky events ensue.

What the Lady Wants by Jennifer Crusie

challenge_name:

This is the third book in the Jennifer Crusie ebook bundle, and it's as good as all the others. Mitch is a private detective who fantasizes about a sexy dame as a client, and Mae is trying to find a dumb detective who'll fall for the sexy dame routine.

Strange Bedpersons by Jennifer Crusie

challenge_name:

This is the second book in the Jennifer Crusie ebook bundle, and I enjoyed it, although it was not my favourite in the bundle. The cliché 'opposites attract' could apply to the heroine and hero, Tess and Nick.

Getting Rid of Bradley by Jennifer Crusie

challenge_name:

This is the first book I've read by Jennifer Crusie, and I really enjoyed it.
