Bk #123—My thoughts: Again, I will say that I really like Brenda Novak’s writing. And The Last Stand series just continues to drive that home. All 3 are excellent stories. The characters are well crafted. And her plotting is superb. Great plot twists.

Bk #120—My thoughts: Good book. This one, to me, definitely seemed more Blaze-like than Coming Soon. I enjoyed the story and liked the characters a lot. And Mercy definitely deserved a happy ending.

Bk #119—My thoughts: Hmm…For a Blaze book, this one didn’t have the steaminess factor I’ve come to expect. I felt the attraction between the 2 main characters but I didn’t really feel the sexual tension that needed to be there. Overall, the story was good but it could’ve, IMHO, been written for any line.

Bk #118—My thoughts: Good book. I enjoyed the story. It was on the humorous side—which I really liked. But honestly, after having read a couple of JD’s books, I was a bit disappointed in this one. It just seemed flat somehow from this author. And for me, the ending was rather matter-of-fact.
