Deadly Kisses

This is the last in the Deadly Series and I'm so sorry to see it end! In this one, Calder stands accused of murdering his pregnant ex-mistress Daisy and ends up breaking his engagement to Francesca to protect her from the scandal.

The Devil You Know

challenge_name:

After having absolutely loved The Devil Inside, I was happy to find out the second book just released at the end of July so I grabbed it.

My Wicked Enemy

challenge_name:

holy wow! I'm so lucky lately with such great worldbuilding in the books I've picked up. I'm already a fan of Jewel from her Crimson City books but this world of fiends and mages is fascinating and wicked sexy.

The Proposition

I totally dug the hero being a ratcatcher! And I liked Winnie as a heroine, smart but resigned to her place in life as an invisible person essentially because she wasn't really marriagable. Ivory handles this incredibly well and I thought it really thought provoking.

The Devil Inside

This book was an unexpected surprise for me. I'd heard wildly varying reviews but in the end, I really enjoyed the book.

I liked the worldbuilding a great deal and I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series (which I've already ordered from Amazon)!

All U Can Eat

challenge_name:

This was a solid 3 1/2 - 4 star read for me. Amusing, sexy, hot sex scenes. I think Personal Assets remains my favorite contemporary along with Velvet Glove and I was disappointed that we didn't get to see more of Jack's "darker" sexual side but there's something in All You Can Eat for just about all tastes!

Deadly Promise

challenge_name:

This one and the fourth book Deadly Caress are my two favorites from the entire series.

I love the time period - 1902 New York, I love that the heroine is a person who cares about things and people and I love her independence and need for knowledge even as she's naive (because she's 20 in 1902 and very sheltered, it makes sense for her character)

Cry Wolf

challenge_name:

I think Patricia Briggs is one of the best world builders writing today and so I wasn't surprised at all to discover just how much I loved Cry Wolf.

Some romance, some action, some suspense - all combined into a really quick, engrossing read.

Deadly Affairs

Book three and the emergence of Calder Hart, Rick’s half brother as the serious contender for Francesca’s heart. While she loves Rick, there are MAJOR roadblocks I can’t go into due to spoiliage. But lemme just say, there’s a scene where Calder is with his mistress and he kisses her palm and sayd, “I want to kiss the heart of your sex” and dude, I nearly fainted.

Deadly Pleasures

I’m gonna be honest and say up front, the mystery aspect in this one played secondary to the intertwining personal lives of the cast of characters. Which was actually fine with me. I think Joyce has done a great job with these characters.
