July Reader's Challenge: Harlequin Moments

I have decided to take Lorie's July Reader Challenge and write about my "Harlequin moment".

I love Harlequins.  There are so many things about them that I love...the heroes, the heroines, the authors...

A Home of Her Own

This is one of my all-time most favorite books.  Despite my enormous TBR pile, I decided to re-read it.  The tension between Lucky and Mike is INTENSE.  And there are so many wonderful layers to these characters and you really, really, really want them to end up together and there are sooooo many cute little things that happen....ahhh, THIS is why I read romance!

Mrs. Perfect

I love Jane's very simplistic, minimalist style of writing.  She gives you enough detail to know what something looks like, but she isn't real wordy.  I was able to read this book in two days sitting by the pool (as we are having a heat wave in NJ!)

His Secret Past

Thank-you, Ellen Hartman!!

i "met" Ellen Hartman on here and she is so funny that I just had to pick up one of her books.  I was not at all disappointed with "Wanted Man"--very unique storyline and characters that really pulled me in!

Baby Makes Three

This is the first book I read by Molly O'Keefe, but it will not be my last!  I love her style of writing.  Her characters were soooo real.  Her heroine is struggling with so much pain and alcoholism.  And the hero is infuriating and lovable at the same time.

O'Keefe really probes the characters psyche very deeply and I LOVE that!!

The Dad Next Door

I was intrigued by this book since I read the mini-novel, Million Dollar Dad on here.  I really enjoyed the mystery with the mom.  Who was she?  Why did she leave?  there was so much intrigue surrounding her.

Nest to wild and crazy, bad boy heroes, my next all-time favorite hero is the devoted dad.  And Gavin is definitely devoted to his daughter.

Texas Bluff

Becky was the daughter of the sherriff.  Although many of the boys had crushes on her, they were too afraid of her father to ask her out.  Except for Luke.  Who was a wild & crazy teen (and still is a little wild & crazy---aren't all the best heroes??).  Luke was dared to ask Becky out, but they both fell in love. Then, she learned of the dare and broke his heart.
