Off Limits

ATF special agent Delaney Carter's much needed promotion is on the line, never mind her sanity and her life, so she's forced to take an undercover assignment as a flight attendant. One problem, she's terrified of flying. Which also makes her the worst fight attendant in history. This is a nice comic touch and sets up the finale wonderfully.

Coming Soon

Finally we get to revisit Hush, the erotically themed five star hotel that was the center of the Do Not Disturb series last year. As usual, Leigh gives us a delighful, fun and intriguing look inside the Hush universe. This time we also get a hollywood style murder mystery along with the Blazing hot romance.

Cecil Hargrave is shocked when she inherits a house on an island in Maine from an "aunt" she barely remembered. But she decides a vacation could be a good thing and goes up to the Maine coast for the summer. The small town life is new to NYC girl Cecil.

Blame It on the Dog

This book was read in dribs and drabs, which makes it a bit difficult to form a cohesive opinion about it. Especially hard because the last half was read in the hospital emergency room with my mother (who is doing very well, thank God), but my overall impression was definitely favorable.

1999: A novel of the Celtic Tiger and the Search for Peace

Is there any greater joy for a confessed readaholic than when a nice big box from Amazon arrives at the door? Only when said wonderful big box contains a book this reader has been anxiously awaiting for since the previous book in the series was published in 2005. So it was with much fan-girl glee that I pounced on the final book in Morgan Llywelyn's Irish Century series, 1999.

Jingle Bell Rock

Six christmas themed novella length stories by some of romance's best and brightest. But like most compilations for me, the shorter format leads to less meaty stories and more shallow characterization which tends to make it easier to put down the book for long periods of time. That may be why it took me well into the new year to finish this.

Kon TIki

A nonfiction adventure story is out of my usual comfort zone in reading, but this year seems to be all about changes and leaving that comfort zone as much as possible. I picked up this book for my brother a couple years ago, but was drawn to it myself recently and am so glad I gave it a shot.
