Do you believe in virgins?

I’ve heard a lot of people, readers and writers, laugh at the idea of a contemporary romance with a virginal heroine. I discussed the issue in the Dear Reader letter for my newest book:

Silhouette Desire Author Blog

Top 10 Places To Steal A Kiss

So, what do you think is the most romantic place to snuggle down with someone special?

Some friends who helped with the preliminary voting on the Top Outfits for Men poll were very generous and helped me come up with another preliminary list - this time for the most romantic places to steal a kiss.

And in the interests of helping everyone keep the passion alive in their own kiss-stealing, I bring that list to you for further voting. It's like a public service announcement really. We aim to help.

Here we go. Top 10 Places To Steal A Kiss with a special someone:

under the stars, maybe on the beach with a campfire, maybe on a grassy hill on a picnic blanket

No Man Shall Pass Unnoticed…

It has occurred to me that I spend more time than the average woman looking at pictures of…well, of guys. I tell myself (over and over and over) that it's because I need to find the perfect "look" for the next hero in my next book.

Harlequin Romance Group Author Blog

Do SHOES maketh the heroine?

Recently, I received the cover of my first Desire, Claiming His Bought Bride. And I LOVE it. Really, really love it.

The scene is from the book, just after Damon and Lily get married. The fabulous production department at Harlequin have used so many details from the story: from Damon's dark, wavy hair to him carrying Lily through the door to their hotel room.

Lily is tall and has long blonde hair and is carrying a small bouquet of Lily-of-the-Valley, just as the scene is written. She’s also wearing a white cotton summer dress as she is in the book.

But one thing I didn’t describe in the book, and the production department has had to improvise, is Lily’s shoes.

What have you learned lately?

Here he is! Rafe Medici, hero from FROM PLAYBOY TO PAPA! Coming in January! I love how our clever Yvonne Lindsay describes this cover "The Body". As gorgeous and successful as Rafe is, when he finds out he has a son, he needs to learn how to be a Dad.

This made me think about how much I like to learn new things. I'm sure I've learned several things during the last few months, but I'm thinking about two in particular.

Silhouette Desire Author Blog

What's Happening in 2010

Jayne and I have been working hard this week to ensure that the editor pitches continue to thrive in this community and we've even raised the stakes for all of you looking to join in. Starting in January, we're going to have online workshops to help you hone your pitch, with Winnie Griggs, a Steeple Hill author who has a SRO workshop at RWA on pitching.

Love and Loss

I thought long and hard about whether to write the blog I’d planned for this date, the one dealing with yet another of the comments and questions we writers get so often. Finally, though, I decided it would be a copout, maybe even dishonest, after sharing so much of my journey over the past few months of my husband’s battle with cancer with you, not to share with you the journey’s end.

I lost my love, my Gary, ten days ago.
