Simply Romance - Reading Kimani Romance

Kimani Romance releases each month is a must for me as I know it is for many of you.  Favorite authors? Favorite books Favorite series?

Hello

My name is Jennifer and just wanted to say hello to everyone and Wayne I had to let you know that I love your Knight series and can't wait for the new book. Have a good weekend everyone!!

jenny

Hello

I happen to like books in a series.

Kimani

I have so many favorite authors from Kimani but some of my favorites are Gwyneth Bolton, Angie Daniels, Maureen Smith, AlTonya Washington, Adrianne Byrd, and Wayne Jordan.  I like the series and some of my favorites are Knight series, Ramsey series, and Roarke Family (Maureen Smith).

Hello

My name is Gia! Two  of my favorite Kimani authors are Brenda Jackson and  Maureen Smith. I am just starting to read Adrianne Byrd.

Authors

I have so many favorite authors. Some of my favorites are Adrianne Byrd, Yahrah St. John, Donna Hill, Angie Daniels, and AlTonya Washington. There are some many authors, and then on top of it all you have new author and ones who have been out you just never picked up their book.  But When you read more of that author's book, and you like what they have wrote then you feel like you have to find out what other books they have. So you can play catch up. That's how I am. If an author can get my attention more then 1s for different books that they write and the work is just so wonderful. I become a fan.

I wrote this on the old

I wrote this on the old site:

  --------------------------

I have acquired some new favorites since Kimani has launched. Adrianne Byrd’s When Valentines Collide has me searching her back list for good reads. I haven’t been disappointed with any I have read. Elaine Overton’s Fever has me doing the same thing with her books with the same results. Altonya Washington has me hooked with her Lover’s series. I am waiting for a copy of Pride and Consequences – not a Lover’s book but one I think I will enjoy. Tamara Sneed’s At First Sight has me waiting for more from her. I see she has one coming out soon At First Touch – another Sibley sister YEAH!!! Quinn and Wyatt this should be very good!! I finally took the time to read Gwyneth Bolton’s If You Only Knew and wondered why it has been sitting on my shelf so long. That’s five new authors from reading the Kimani line.

Series? I thank Kimani for giving my Brenda Jackson an avenue to release another family series. I love the Steeles with Morgan/Beyond Temptation as my favorite. I normally can’t pick a favorite with Brenda’s family books but there was something about Morgan Steele.

I am enjoying the Lockhart series while I await the last installment to arrive in the mail and hope there will be other such series to come.

Last but certainly not least the Buchanan brothers stole my heart with the introduction of Taurean in Capture the Sunrise. There was something about Taurean and I was a little disappointed to hear that Daniel was being set aside for another series until I read One Gentle Knight. I await the arrival of my copy of To Love a Knight and most importantly Daniel Buchanan’s story whatever the title may be.

Looking forward? Other than the ones above as well as any books from the authors mentioned, I would love to see an upcoming list of books. Who knows what new authors I may pick up in 2008? I have read other books in the Kimani Press section that are definitely worth mentioning. If you have read any of the previous entries here, I was desperate to get my hands on Ever Wonderful by Kim Louise - another one of my favorite authors. It was on my “have to read as soon as I can list” and I didn’t realize it was a Kimani Arabesque book. So no pre-order.  Another Arabesque I was anxious to read is Stranger in My Arms – the latest Hideaway book by Rochelle Alers. I have been a fan since the first book in that series.

From Special Releases line, I thoroughly enjoyed Friends: A Love Story / Angela Bassett & Courtney B. Vance.

And finally I have read I read Indigo Summer - Monica McKayhan from the Kimani TRU line. My daughter and I both enjoyed that one. I was glad to see a line introduced for the teens. I look forward to reading Trouble Follows.

------------------

Since I wrote that I did read At First Touch and look forward to the next book. Sooner rather than later please PTB. Trouble Follows was worth the wait. My dd and I are enjoying Indigo and her friends. Wayne, I am still patientlyInnocent waiting  for Daniel's story while keeping busy with the Knights. I have been hearing good things about Three Wishes by Janice Sims that I now have it on my TBB list. I couldn't buy it with this month's order. I was already over my order budget and I still have to buy Francis Ray's new book - hopefully I can find it this weekend. (That's not a Kimani book so I guess I won't talk much about it).

I ordered Ann Christopher's Sweeter than Revenge today. This will be my first Ann Christopher book. I had Just about Sex, but lost it during my move. Still haven’t found that one. It’s on my list to re-buy. I still have hope to find it.

New Year - New Books

How's everyone doing since the holidays are a month behind us.  Back to work, back to school, kids out of the house.

I'm working on a new Kimani.  It's a companion book to the one coming out in June.  June's books is called Right Guy, Wrong Gown and of course involves the wrong wedding gown.

The companion book doesn't have a title yet, but the character character is this book and Right Guy, Wrong Gown are sisters.

I did plan a series all surrounding weddings, but unsure if Harlequin will go for another one.  They can be so finicky sometimes.Smile

    Really Enjoying

I'm really enjoying The Three Mrs Fosters Series. The first two books by Carmen Green and Carla Fredd were great. I'm looking forward to the final installment from Brenda Jackson. Reading List

I've been reading hot romances to erotic romances to straight up erotica.  I have a couple proposals in the hopper and wanted to see what were the boundaries for each type of book.

But I'm also working on my Kimani Romance due in July and I tend not to read any Kimanis while I'm writing.  But that doesn't mean that I don't have my list of fave authors, such as Gwyneth and Wayne.

Since there are no topics in the Kimani TRU are, I will post this here.

Is anyone reading books from the YA line? My daughter and I are enjoying them. The Indigo books are our favorites and I noticed another installment is coming out this month. The Pact. It sounds like it should be good.

If you  have teenagers and pre-teens in your life, these are great books  that you can read with them. I enjoy them as much as she does. Cool

    African Romance

This is simply in relation to stories set in Africa. Africans deal with a whole different set of issues than African-Americans.

Most of my stories, are set in Africa. I asked my question in a new blog I started and everyone who replied thought I should as Wayne. So here goes, Wayne...

If my story is about Africans (or an inter-racial couple involving and African) and set mainly in Africa, does it qualify for any of the Kimani Press lines?

When you say let there be in any form, something happens

    African Setting...

I don't see why not.  Kimani's main goal is for the writers to write sexy appealing stories for the Kimani Romance line. If you story fits into that mold then it's definitely possible.

However, at this moment, Kimani is not publishing interracial romance thought Harlequin has published a few under their other lines..

I write for Kimani and I've had two books were the main characters were both Barbadian...from the island were I live thought I am still conscious that I am writing for a mainly American market....

    Hope this helps..

    wj

    African Setting

Thanks, Wayne. Yes, I have noticed a few (very few) inter-racial stories with Silhouette Series.

Your comment helps. I feel like I have some options. On the Harlequin side, the responses I got suggested that they just haven't had to deal with the situation. Thanks Smile

When you say let there be in any form, something happens
