Catherine Mann's Bunker Bash

Ever wondered what Catherine Mann does to inspire herself while creating those fantastic Wingmen Warriors? Honestly?
She parties.
But, like any author in need of inspiration, Catherine needs atmosphere. Luckily, eHQN had this really roomy emergency military bunker with an endless supply of MRE's and BT Entertainment packets! There's some kegs of dehydrated fermented juices and of course, a jukebox. There's even a few streamers and the red emergency disco light--the refugees from Studio 54 used it last--still on the ceiling!
So come and help Catherine keep writing!

It took me just a bit to find my way but I have finally managed to do just that and here I am, first post. I think I like the new layout it will take a bit of adjusting but now that I've added this as a favorite hopefully it will be easier.
Anyway, an update. I no longer have the ring. I wore it for 7 or 8 days and yesterday while I was at my aunt's house I noticed something didn't feel right. The band had broke. Most likely where it was sized it just snapped in two. Well Jason was here so he took it back to where we got it and now they say it will be at least 2 weeks before I can get my ring back.

I'm so glad to be here. Yesterday I spent most of the time just covering some basic's like posting my books in the Challenge & figuring out a few things. This is going to be a real learning experience for me. I want to keep up with Cathy, her books & my friends here.
Lori, I'm so sorry to hear your ring broke, how disappointing. After they get it fixed you shouldn't have anymore problems.

Welcome to the new digs!
Hey there! Love the cool new locale!! So glad y'all found your way over. Does anyone want to set the scene for our new bunker? It's certainly warm and sunny here in Florida. How about we hang out with the flyboys on the beach. We'll only need a lightweight jacket - or better yet, maybe our flyboys will share their leather jackets!
Lori - I'm so sorry to hear your ring broke. How frustrating to be without it for the next couple of weeks right when you're making your announcement to people. I'm glad though that you found the ring after it fell off your finger!!!

I'm chatting with a friend at the moment and it's nearly time for bed. I've been lurking more than posting lately. I had a blog for about 18mths and took it down just before Xmas.
I'm not totally convinced I like the new format... will take a little bit to get use to.

Finally found this. I am not sure that I like this new format but will work with it. It probably will not work at my job but I can get on at home.
A warm bunker sounds good now. Just cool enough that the guys will hold you and keep you warm.

And yes, it is sunny here. Anywhere from 50-70 degrees where I live in Florida. I'm going to have to dig out my jacket though when I go visit my son at college up in SC next week.
Just wanted to share some good news.... My dear friend here in the Florida panhandle - Stephanie Newton - just sold her first book to Steeple Hill Suspense!! She's Steph N over on the Submission Care Group thread. I am SO thrilled for her I can hardly contain myself.

Congratulations to your friend Step H. That must be thrilling when you sell the first book.
Now that I am getting a little more used to all the newness here I'm starting to like it! There is still some features that don't thrill me but it would be impossible to keep each & everyone of us happy.
Cathy, I would appreciate one of those yummy Flyboys giving me a hug to keep me warm. Maybe a Beach Bunker would be nice. Ocean waves, a fire on the beach & Flyboys to entertain us!

Ah yes! A bonfire and heroes...
Ah yes! We definitely need a beach bonfire to go along with all those hunky heroes. And how about some marshmallows to roast? I like my toasted marshmallows crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Yum! That sounds so much better than what I have planned for supper.....

Yes, they do. I bo't some at Xmas. And they taste a lot like roasted marshmellows! Everyone can run out to get some and really feel like they're at the bonfire!
I remember "your" Steph. I was excited for her sale when I saw Dream post it but didn't realize that she was "your" Steph!

Marshmallows and friends
Hi Penn! How fun to hear you know Steph from the boards and are cheering her new too! Yes, Steph is a very dear friend of mine. We met at an RWA meeting over in Mobile and realized that we actually only lived 5 minutes away from each other. We started having lunch together to chat about writing and such and the friendship grew from there. Our kids are also close buddies. Our hubbies enjoy the occassional round of golf with each other. (I'm sure they're both out there commiserating on living with a writer! LOL!)
Anyway, Steph has a delightful family. This past summer they moved a couple of hours away because of her hubby's job and it was heartbreaking for all of us. Luckily, they're still close enough that we can meet 1/2 way for lunch every couple of weeks, and our kids still do sleepovers. But we'd really gotten spoiled by living so close. I miss her tons! We're already planning our next lunch visit so we can celebrate her sale news.
And for those of you who haven't heard of Steph, trust me, you will! I'll be posting the release date of her book when the time comes. It's a real winner!
Hope everyone's having a super day! The weather is gorgeous here... I may have to take a break from writing to go find some of those marshmallow jelly bellies!!

How Cool
Glad I bumped into this just added it to my favs. Bonfire sounds good. It's been a little too cold for me in Texas right now. Leather jackets and what's out of them sounds really yummy. Marshmallows too, Penn!

Hey, y'all...whew, it was a journey to find the bunker! And I'll vote for flyboys and a bonfire! Definitely with marshmallows...I like to toast mine slowly so that the outside is golden brown and the inside is gooey, yummy. But most of the time I get impatient and end up with them flaming and my kids laughing hysterically as I try to blow them out.
Hi, Cathy! I was thinking the other day about how long it's been since we met at that RWA meeting. What an amazing blessing that was!
BTW, I don't have any flyboys in my book, but I do have a hunky cop.

This is my first visit to the bunker--old or new--in a very, very long time. Now that things have settled down with homeschooling I'm hoping to have more time to jump back online and keep up with all the authors & books I need to read! Hey there! So glad to see folks are finding te new bunker!! Now that we've got that roaring bonfire going with all the roasted marshmallows, how about we add some s'mores and music? I'm sure Bo will be glad to bring out his guitar and serenade us all. Perhaps we can even get those flyboys to kick off their shoes and dance on the beach with us. Sounds like a fun party to me!

I'm hoping this beach is somewhere very far south, as in Mexico, Costa Rica, somewhere WARM.
It's freezing here in FL. The water and sand is still gorgeous--from a nice warm car, LOL.
Can y'all imagine playing football in below zero temperatures like Green Bay did last night? I was cold just thinking about it!

It's freezing here in Colorado, but at least the sun is out. I wish it'd get warm enough to melt some of this snow. It seems like we've had snow on the ground since Thanksgiving, which is unusual for our area.

Someone mentioned the Green Bay game, BRRR! Now that was real dedication by the fans. I love football but I can't imagine sitting & watching a game in weather that cold & I don't know how the players were able to function. Glad the Super Bowl is in Arizona! The players probably are also.
Out of Uniform is in the order I placed last week. I can't wait to get it & read it. Not sure just where I will put it but it is coming!!

Okay, I am behind. I have had On Target since it came out, but finally picked it up to read yesterday, what another great installment. I loved the story of Sherry and Shane and about the traitor and his struggle. Great job, the only good thing about not reading it right away is I still have two CM's in my pile - Bet Me and Out of Uniform.

Cathy, I hope that flu bug is long gone & you are in the "land of the living". Those bugs can be really nasty. My youngest daughter works in a hospital & she picked up a bug that was particularly bad. She is rarely sick.
My copy of Out of Uniform hasn't arrived yet but it will! Can't wait to read it, especially after reading the comments here.
