when I tried the link on the old thread to get here my google toolbar blocked it and then wouldn't let me come here(I ended up go by way of forums. Then when I got here google blocked link to archived thread

I just wanted to let you know that the December email for the Book Challenge with the December Challenger's coupon code went out last night.

it was nothing to do with links... my computer decided to give me grief again and decided to block everything from this site(figured it out when I couldn't post smilie). I'm back in working order..(and didn't hit computer once)

glad you got it, Orchid ... I'm not sure why your name and addy weren't on my list ... though with the few hundred that are on it, it's quite possible I messed up when I transferred things

glad to know it's there .... I've been thinking this afternoon that I might set up a special email addy for the 2009 Challenge ... but I'll be keeping this one for my Hosty contact for you all, so it's good that it's set up on your AOL

I right click on book cover and can save target or save picture.  I saved picture as the garbliedegook they put and I saved it as Natural born Charmer from a folder labeled Book Covers.  I tried adding both of them ... separately ... when one didn't work tried the other ...and fully submitting them and don't see a preview.... I just went back and edited it.  I get the red x and see my avatar.   My job is fixing computers.  I can build the darn things.  This is frustrating and embarassing.   The only saving bit is many others seem to have the same problem.  I tried saving the http:..... .jpg but couldn't do it.  I am about to give up.... At least I can now post the reviews..... and I am behind on them..... sigh....

tried without success and my son who builds computers and has a degree in programming said if didn't work there was nothing he could do. I'll just go the rest of the year without pics like I have previously. Sorry you had the same problem but I'm glad it's not just my ignorance.

Katherine - I am on a MAC OS X version10.5.5 with firefox 2.0.0.18 and have no trouble loading pictures for the reviews or in blogs.  So it is not necessarily a MAC issue (if this helps you any).

new HP but it came with Vista which I don't much care for although I'm getting used to it. I'm not sure about anything else will have to check and get back to you.

i know its a little early to be asking this but is there going to be a book challenge in 2009?

As you can see --well maybe it looks okay to you.

But what I see is nada. No bold, no italics and no underline. And that is the way it is for me in blogs, posts and reviews. 

But I can use emoticons --Go, figure

Bold,italics,underline,markout  And I have a banner at the top.

don't know why, as it happened out of the blue, I find it a bit annoying as when the eharl page loads there's nothing of any interest on my screen until I scroll down quite a bit - luckily for me I know there are lots of interesting reasons to scroll down, I just hope newtime visitors don't have the same screen

a huge white area where it says:

Header Promotion

And then nothing interesting otherwise till you scroll down.  It's all white in that area.

edited to add: there's a HUGE white space underneath the above as it actually looks better in the little box here than it does on my screen.  There's just this HUGE white gap of nothingness under the header promotion statement.  It looks unfinished actually.

Nancy, not sure why you can't bold etc .... I double checked and this page definitely has those functions turned on

the rest of you with the funny banner and the white space .... let me guess, you all are using Firefox?  ... I reported this issue Monday morning ... at home last night in Firefox it was corrected ... unfortunately I'm at the office now for quite some time yet, so I won't be able to check Firefox on my computer until very late tonight

I'm using Firefox.  Mine has looked this way since the changes went into effect.

I went through my AOL browser and it's a HUGE difference!  On Firefox, I still have those series links at the top where it acts as if two lines are my favorites when they aren't.  On AOL, completely different!

Well, I'm stumped and saddened, cause I can't do anything fancy.  But it was nice of all of you to come out and let me know I'm alone in my problem.

Anyone else having this problem, if you do a "hard" refresh this should reload the webpages correctly .... that's holding down the "control" key and clicking on "refresh" a couple of times

Since I am a newbie this year I was wondering if at the end of the year there is going to be a forum where we can list our favorites of the year.  I find it hard sometimes to keep up with all the Happy Thanksgiving or Merry Christmas posts and I know I probably miss some but I would really like to see everyone's favorites in one place so I wouldn't miss any. Do you do this?
