I finally figured it out. If you want to look ONLY for the blogged books you click on Book Challenge. It was a terrific discovery and if I am the last to find it so what. I have been wandering aimlessly thru Recent Posts and finding books and finally found what I am looking for.
If I can only figure out how to get an avatar into my blog I will be happy. When I try to put it there it says it is not an image.

Thanks Jeannie--I didn't know about clicking Book Challenge to find the book reviews. Now that you say it, it seems so obvious, but somehow I never clicked it!
As for your avatar...do you know the file extension of the image you're trying to upload? .GIF or .JPG should work, I think....
I saw the Challenge button.
I saw the Challenge button. It is a great feature, however, it will not let you know when there is a new post like it does in the Recent Posts section. So I stopped going in there. It was too much trouble to be going into each one that I had made a comment in to see if there were new comments.
So they need to add a recent new post feature there and it would be great.
Oh, I just thought of something. . . do you see that there are recent posts? I am having a problem seeing recent new posts in the My Favorites section of My Profile. So I do not know when someone has posted a response. Maybe I can't see them in the Book Challenge forum either???

I'm having trouble with that too, Margie. It's not always easy to tell when there are new posts. I'm hoping they'd fiddle with that system a bit once things have settled down here.
I made a link to page 45
of the most recent comments section so that I could go back half way and work my way forward with the minimum of clicks
So if you see me commenting on blogs and book reviews from a couple of days ago, that's how I was doing it
To
start I had to click on "last" and then keep going forward to the
earliest possible page and round about page 45 things started getting
interesting so I made it a link and started going forward a couple of
pages at a time
I saw the book challenge link but I like to see whether there have been comments

I just got, like five minutes ago, an email from eHarl about my question on the My Favorites section. I was adding things to My Favorites and they show up in the box under all my personal information.
What I was doing wrong was in thinking that new posts would show up there. . . but you have to click on the My Favorites button to the right. It is the button above the My Friends button.
I just checked and that is what I was wanting. It shows you recent activity. So I am now going to add every comment I make to the My Favorites. Then I can go to My Favorites and see when someone has responded. I can't believe I never pressed that button.

I just entered a new book review and came her to check this thread. I then clicked on the Book Challenge and my book was at the top. Once you click on the title it opens up to make or read comments. It is not as good as going to individual blogs, however it beats the heck out of Recent Posts that drives be to bang my head against the wall.

Yes, it took me a bit of time too.
I wish that I could see "New post" every time a friend posts a blog or something. The main Challenge blog is moving at warp speed and I am missing so much. I posted one review and vbefore I could do an edit for typos it was on page 3. I wil lnever be able to catch up with the main challenge blog.

I think the only way to see new book posts is to click on their picture from your profile and it will take you to their profile. You will see their recent blog posts, both blog and book reviews, to the left under the title My Recent Blog Posts

Hi Paisley, You can also access your friends by going near the top right, and click on "My Friends"...and your complete friends list will be in there as well...only you'll be able to tell if they are on or off-line as well.

Okay maybe one of you can tell me when I post how come some of my posts have a partial review and some don't show anything till you click on it. I thought I was doing them the same way.

Hmm, i'm not really sure Deb. Maybe your submitting your reviews differently each time? ...or possibly reading them from a different spot sometimes? (entering from a different route?)
I strictly post my reviews in "Book Review", near the top on the right hand side.
Hopefully someone comes in here that's seen the same thing happen and can explain it to you...i'm curious to hear how it happens as well....in case something similar ever happens to me.
