Stealing the 1st post

Had to get away this weekend before I killed someone and I'm so not a violent person. It'd just been one of those weeks where it started off pretty good. I had a shopping and lunch day with a new friend and was feeling pretty good. Jazzed actually because well, I don't get many days like that. Came home and it all went south of the equator.

My son's ex started more crap and another teacher approached him--this time the school nurse and I flipped out. I emailed the principal and told him it looked like he was going to regret saying if I needed anything else. He apologized profusely and the school nurse called me first thing in the morning on Tuesday. She said she didn't mean what she said and I told her apparently she did. She just didn't say it to my son, but she said something to my daughter about it the week before. I explained that this girl has caused my family nothing but chaos and havoc. I also emailed her parents asking that they make her cease and desist. I'd keep this on a parental level, but I wouldn't hesitate to pull in outside forces if she didn't quit. They didn't email back, but things have quieted with her and they better stay that way.

Then, my daughter bit into a Jolly Rancher and her tooth broke. Big old hole in the center that looks like someone drilled it there. Called my future sister in law and they got her in on Friday. Only problem is, her insurance isn't accepted where SIL works. So, I called my ex. He has insurance on them, but the insurance card I have is expired. Did he send me the new one? Nope. So, I asked him for the numbers. I'm furious and embarrassed. He's rambling on and on about stupid things trying to figure out where the card is. Then he tells me he's at work. The ladies at the dentist were wonderful as was the dentist. The tooth apparently didn't form properly. The rest of her teeth are beautiful. But we're all waiting on the donkey I was once married too for insurance information so we can get her in for a root canal. Has he found it yet? No. So, the insurance card he was to fax on Friday is still MIA and he doesn't have to worry about it, but I still am. Thank God this isn't something more serious. I asked him for the new cards in January. This is his children's health too.

So, I apologize for lurking, but the feelings were still very raw and well, cussing like a sailor isn't very becoming of a host. ;)

Hugs to those who need them and a big WOOT to those who need those too!

Rae

Rae

Rae,

Hugs.  Sounded like after a week like last week you needed them!  Big hugs.  Hope you exhusband found the card.  And more hugs on your son.  Lots of them.

Happy Monday...

New week, new digs. Cool! Well, I must have Spring Fever or something. Feel like I could tackle the world this week. Need to work up a to-do list of all the things I want to get done. *G*

Holly, congrats!!! That's great about that your first American is a finalist. Woohoo!!! Great job.

Rae, sorry you're having some many problems. Hope things get better for you soon.

Guess I should quit chatting and get started on all of those things I want to accomplish. LOL. Wish me luck.

Happy writing,

(((((Rae)))) hope things get settled for your son and that your ex comes up with the insurance card so you can get your daughter's tooth fixed.  You have my sincere sympathies.  And don't worry about letting go here we are here for you.

December 2008 MEMBER of the MONTH!

A true teacher is a person who, at the end of the school day, still likes children!

Thank you

Beautiful sunny morning here in Western Pa. A little cold, but loving the sun.

Hoping this Monday is drama free. Well, aside from me bugging the ex first thing this morning. He sent me a text saying he'd get back to me today and I replied with, hope it's not like last week. Yup, done playing with him.

Haven't had a chance to do a whole lot of reading lately. The editor pitches have lept me pretty busy. So, I'll ask you all, what have you been reading?

Rae

Currently I'm reading a

Currently I'm reading a Nocturne.  Can't remember the title.  Interesting book.  This is my first venture into paranormal romance.  I've always assumed they were all about vamps and weres, neither which thrill me - no offense to anyone who enjoys those stories, they just don't appeal to me - so it's nice to see other options being explored.

There are also some current releases from HAR and SSE I wanted to pick up, but I'm having trouble finding them.  One store I went into still had February releases on the shelves. I always thought that books were stocked a month in advance not a month behind.  The next store I went to was picked over, which is good for the author but not so good for a reader.  I'm thinking I'm going to order them online if I don't want to drive all over town.

Sandy

You leave for a few days and...

This loop explodes! Now we're in new digs again. Wow! New York was fabulous and so was the PASIC conference. That said, it's great to be home again. Smile

Jennifer F- Hope your f-i-l is better now. Yes, I saw three shows!! The 39 Steps, a comedy of the Alfred Hitchcock movie (not very good), Billy Elliott (fabulous), and my favorite, Impressionism, starring Jeremy Irons, Joan Allen, Marcha Mason and Michael Weis (former star of the Pretender). It was wonderful!

Lisa62- I'm glad you're enjoying (enjoyed?) Ooh, Baby!. Smile

Holly- I knew about your m-i-l, but not your own mom. I'm so sorry.

Rae- I hope your life has calmed down now. Actually, sounds as if it has. Let's hope things stay calm for awhile.

Sandy- Anderson, which delivers books to many outlets, closed its doors and really screwed up distribution. Hopefully, soon you'll be able to find those books you love.

It was a lovely Monday here!

Hi, Ellen!

Rae, I finished my Rita books and am rereading Austen right now!

Sandy, Sorry you're having trouble finding the books.  I tend to order my books here at eHarlequin.  They always give 20% off, if you order on Fridays, they send a free book and you don't need a charge card...they'll bill you!  (And no, they don't have me on payroll!  LOL)

Anne, Glad you're back from Pasic!  Any thing to share?

Found everyone

I found everyone! Monday here, which meant back to school where no one wanted to work. We're expecting rain tomorrow which may at least get everyone refocused as spring is definitely here and crazy.

Working on revisions and found out I was in the local paper Washington Missourian, which was good. Of course there were only 2 of my Americans left in Washington MO Wal-Mart, so we'll see if those are now sold. I got a bunch of bookmarks from Harlequin so I went and stuffed those in all the Americans at Borders and at Wal-Mart. They are cute little things.

Hang in there Rae.

BTW, Lisa Child's Noctures are really good. She also writes for them as well as American.

Ann, glad you had a good time. Saw my favorite editor was in some of Kate's pictures. LOL.

Also, anyone twittering, I'm at www.twitter.com/micheledunaway if you want to follow me.

Sunny Tuesday

What am I reading? Hmm... let me grab it so I get the title right. 'Mommy For A Minute' by Judy Christenberry. It's an older HAR. I embarrassed to say that I've got tons of books in my TBR piles/boxes. So I've been reading a new one and then a couple older ones, hoping to shrink my huge backlog of books this year.

Holly, thanks. I made a small dent in my list of things to do yesterday but now that I'm starting to walk every day I've got to rearrange everything around that. Loved getting out in the sunshine but I have to say that the air was still really chilly. I don't think it made it past forty-eight yesterday but the sunshine was way too tempting to stay inside.

Ann, FIL is on the mend and for a while we had problems getting him to settle down enough for his body to heal but now he's good to go. *G* Glad you were able to catch some shows while you were in NYC.

Michele, congrats on making the paper!

Finally found you guys! LOL!

{{{Rae}}}  I'm really wishing you a drama free week this week.

Lisa62- Wonderful news about the baby and the wedding! She's a cutie!

Sandy_ Good luck on your partial request!

Holly- congrats on yout "Thanksgiving"  book final!

I've been busy myself. Lots of planning. April will be a hectic month for me between Easter, two birthdays, and a neighborhood party that's going on then, too. I'm going to be partied out. LOL!

I'm about halfway done my new wip now. I'm going to try to finish another chapter today.

Happy writing!

conferences and such

Holly- Regarding the PASIC conference, I absorbed tons and tons of info! Book sales are down (we all know that!) but even so, industry professionals are bullish on book sales--especially romance, which unlike many other genres, continues to do well. Yay!

Most often repeated advice (again, which we all know)- Write the best book you can and turn it in on time. You'd be suprised at how many authors are late.

Michele- That break sped by, huh?

Jennifer S- Enjoy all those parties. Smile

Sandy, I always order online and yeah, I'm on the payroll--sort of because I live out in the middle of no where and the stores around here are very slow to stock, if they have Harlequin's at all.

Ann, thanks for sharing the sage advice of being on time. Glad you had fun in NY.

Michele, I have a twitter, but the more people I add, the more confusing it is to follow everyone. I'll be following you directly.

Jennifer Faye, hugs and thanks on the update of your FIL. My own TBR is growing immensely. Hoping to pick up on a lot of reading at the pool this year.

Cool new room!

I was wondering just Sunday how long it would be before you gave a a clean new room Rae.

{{{{Rae}}}} on the irritable ex! So my suggestion to the ins card dilemma is this- if her doesn't cough it up by the time the billing is due, have the dentist send it to him! That ought to get his lazy butt in gear.

Ann-Welcome back and glad it was a good time for you. And Ooh Baby is history well loved! I finished it the next day but forgot to post that. My wifi is tempermental at best out here and only lets me on sporadically throughout the day.

Michele- cool twittering!

Umm- new cp reading new wip. Going good, but I have to get out of here and read hers now! And review what she had to say about mine as well as write more. Didn't get any writing in yesterday because I went to breakfast with dh and youngest dd and new baby on her first outing. She's 6 days today! Already!! Took dd to shop for her wedding dress. Very tame wedding plans. She/we found a champagne colored short roman-style dress with rope straps for sleeves and a babydoll bodice and gold 'thong-type' sandals. The shoes are fitting for a beach scene since they have chosen to get married at Turner Falls (I think you can google it) and the reception the following Saturday will be at a local lake (Thunderbird Lake- may google it too?) so she wanted the shoes to reflect the theme of water wear and still be dressy. Fiance will rent a tux.

I have to rant a bit though. They have chosen to have (at first parents only) a limited amount of guests invited to the actual ceremony and everyone they know to the lake side reception. Her two sisters were not buying that, but had no choice. His sister, and only sibling, lives in NY so she was fine with it. His friend will marry them. Then they found out they had to have two outside-family witnesses at the wedding so he invited 2 of his friends. That meant they had to allow her sisters and cousin to go. She also asked her soon-to-be ex bil to stand in with groom and my oldest brother as photog. All's well now. Right?

Wrong- she isn't inviting my sister! Who, I might add, I live on her property so I'll have to hear her disappointment and hurt of being excluded daily. I just want to scream! I feel they either leave everybody out or invite everybody, but groom doesn't have a lot of family so they don't want to invite all of hers for his sake. Grrrr! Uneven and all that... I'm going to tell her today when she calls, and she does every day, that she has to explain why her aunt who's been there all her life with b-day and Christmas gifts and events, that she can't see her niece get married-- because she's never been to any of the girls' weddings (we lived in Calif with the other two while she was in Okla)-- and this is the last one. I'M NOT telling my sister the bad news!

Ok. Done venting... for now. Thanks.

Wow, Lisa.  You have my

Wow, Lisa.  You have my sympathies.  My SIL and her husband decided a few years to stop inviting all the family except the grandparents to any of their children's b'day parties.  They try to make it sound like they did it because they want to it keep things simple.  As if.  Her husband is an only child so they're not excluding any of his family, just hers.  She has four brothers, including my husband, and they make waaaayyy more money than the rest of us.  I'll say no more because you really don't want to get me started, but it totally irks me.

So thanks for the tips on ordering online.  Sounds much simplier than driving from store to store.  I will definitely look into it.

Wednesday!

Michele, Glad you made a dent in your things-to-do!  And really glad you're walking every day.  I'm a huge walker.  The dogs and I are out in the morning and after dinner.  We're up to four or five miles a day.  I love this time of year.  Every day we go out, something's changed.  Flowers coming up.  Buds popping out.  I was so very happy the day we saw our first robin.  It's a simple pleasure...hope you enjoy your walks as much!

Thanks, JenniferS!  Sounds very busy there!

Ann, Very good advice!  I've only ever turned a book in late once...that was because of a death in the family.  I've turned books in early many, many times.  It's a matter of pride for me.  I signed a contract, and I do my best to honor it.

Hi, Rae and Aurelene!

Lisa, The shopping and bd's sound lovely!  Sorry about the wedding angst.

Sandy, I'm a big fan of ordering in!  And if you spend $25 (not difficult at all!  LOL) it's free shipping.  I love that.  (And again, I get no kickback!  LOL)

Warmer and windy here today.  I think I've got my speaking schedule for the rest of this year worked out.  It should be fun!  Susan Gable and I are doing a lot of the traveling together...and we always have fun!

Jennifer F- That's good news about your f-i-l. Like you, I have a ton of books in my TBR, too! Right now, though, I'm reading an excellent library book, which I'm going to buy because it's so good (so far anyway), called, Creating Character Emotions (by Ann Hood). I'm only 1/10 of the way through it, but so far, I'm impressed.

Rae- So glad your week is drama free. Smile

Aurelene- I popped over and saw that photo of you in the wig and nurse's cap. Too cute!

Lisa62- Glad you enjoyed Ooh, Baby!. I really enjoyed writing it. Oh, gosh... the babty! How are the new mama and daddy doing? The wedding plans sound stressful! Too bad the witnesses can't be there when the actual documents are signed instead... (I'm thinking of Jewish weddings, when the bride, groom, rabbi and witnesses watch as the couple sign the ketubbah, the marriage certificate. This is a private, and very joyous affair either before or after the wedding ceremony.) Whatever happens, good luck.

Holly- Good for you with your punctuality! I'm the same-- I generally turn in the book before the due date. (My mom taught me to always get it done early so if something comes up, it's ready to go no matter what.) You're lucky to have your close friend traveling with you. Smile

It's raining here and my shoulder/wrist are killing me today.

Kids are off school tomorrow for a snow make up day. Wish they'd have tacked it onto their Easter vacation. We never have Spring break at our school. Not sure why. They get Good Friday and the Monday after Easter off and that's it.

Have a great day!

Rae

My kids get out early April

My kids get out early April 3rd and then don't go back until the Tuesday after Easter.  Unfortunately I get no days off for Easter.  Which is kind of weird given I work in state office and it's kind of local joke around here that if it's smells like a holiday we get the day off.  I got both President's Days off, I got Election Day off last year, Veteran's Day, Columbus Day and so on, but nothing for Easter???  Makes no sense.  I suppose I shouldn't complain.  We do get a lot of holidays off, but I would have liked to do something with my kids while they're home for Spring break.

On the bright side we're going to the Zoo in St Louis the weekend before, that is if doesn't rain.   So does anyone have any special plans for spring break/Easter they'd like to share?

TGIF

Contemplating running out to Kmart and buying the movie Bolt for the lil guy--who isn't so little anymore. But might do it later so that he can watch it on the way out to Ohio tomorrow. We haven't visited Mark's daughter since last summer. Now that she's almost 18 and has been driving for awhile, we asked if she thought she could handle driving a couple of hours to meet us. She said yes, and is now nervous and excited. So, she's meeting us at the Ohio Valley Mall tomorrow with possibly one of her friends which makes the 16 yr old boy very happy. His step-sister has hot friends, doncha know?

My DD who is 14 has her first boyfriend. They're cute together in an almost scary sort of way. They've been buddies for a couple of years now. He shot up and so did she and well, he started to notice her about two weeks ago. Mark and I noticed it when they were kicking a soccer ball back and forth to each other and just talking in the driveway. He's the first boy that's taller than her to ask her out. Yes, that's what they say now even though at this age the only place they go is to school. Wink I may need advice, Hall.

Have a great day and productive weekend, all!

Rae

Don't you love Fridays? The last day in the work week, with a whole weekend of potential just waiting for you.

Aurelene- I loved that photo, which showed your sense of humor.

Jennifer F- I'm with you, crossing my fingers that one of the HAR's wins!!

Rae- Sounds like arthritis in the hand and wrist. Ouch! And about your DD-a boyfriend! Wow. Can't wait to hear about it.

SandySue- I suppose that given Easter is always on Sunday, you're technically getting the day off. If one of those other holidays fell on the weekend, you probably don't get another day off during the week, right? (Or maybe you do ...)  Have fun at the zoo!

Holly- Don't you love when the writing flows? Here's to another fun writing day.

I didn't get any writing in these last two days because 1) dh was off and 2) I was finishing a crit and got it returned today, so I can focus on my h/H today. So I'm hoping to get some real work in today. I put in for a local cp to brainstorm with and one of my local girls replied so we will start meeting 1-2 times a month soon. We're supposed to get snow later tonight. The weather in St. Louis is always so crazy. I finally read Janet Evanovich's Plum Spooky. I also saw the new HARs including mine in the library, and that's always fun.

It snowed Friday

into Saturday. Temps dropped to high 20's Saturday morning, and by Saturday night, though it was good snowman powder, it was gone-- and today is up in the 50-60's! Sunny, NO WIND, and beautiful out (so why am I inside? I'll tell you in a minute)

Yay on chopping words and wood. And on the writing- Hall. I used to enjoy chopping firewood- when we had a fireplace that is.

Holly- would you mind if I email you?

Great that you got to read, Michele. I finished Ann's book last week then buckled dow to writing before I even think about reading more wonderful stuff by anyone. Why don't you ever enter the Rita?

I have a dilemma. Two or three, maybe even. The good news is that over the past two days I managed over 10,000 words on the ms! And, I am a mere chapter-ish from completion with just 12-17,700 words away. The problem(s) is that I still haven't even gotten to my heroine's main conflict resolution and the whole story is (by necessity) featured in one week so far. Her issue falls out another two weeks from that point and I can 'skip to it' easily, and as planned. BUT- I don't think it will work out in one or less chapters and still fit in the HEA. <sighing hugely at this point> But, luckily, this is still the first rough draft so I know it's do-able in the following weeks of edits. See? Problem solved--in theory. Undecided

This is my first 'targeted' American, so I'm wroking very hard to keep it tight and flowing through all the conflicts, but I think I may need to get a better grip on Hero's conflict. It's there and strong, but I feel it's a little straggled in places. Heroine's is, too, and I know what to do about hers, though it will take more work than his will. I want to add expand more on the external conflict and deeped it throughout, so that may call for a major edit session to get it in and work with it a little longer, plot-wise, than it is now.

I'm hoping to have it polished and ready to go by August 1, so when would be the best time to Q&S?

Can one of you wonderfully talented ladies tell me:

1- what is your avg end page count, on the computer at 12-TNR, @ 60,000 wc?

2- what is the accepted number of chapters in a complete ms? (mine will fall at 10-11 right now)

3- should I simply Q&S, or should I send the first 3 with that?

Yes, you may email me!  As for your questions, I've switched over to using computer word count.  So far, it's worked just fine.  So, i don't worry about page counts so much any more.  My chapters tend to come in around twenty pages, which gives me about ten chaps for an American and about twelve for a Super.  I emphasize the ABOUT because I don't sweat it.

Hoping everyone has a great Monday...we all know I love them!  Today's going to be busier than most Mondays...my 5yo niece is coming to spend the day with me.  I think we're going to bake!

Monday

Lisa62- First you got warm weather, then the prediciton of snow? That's spring for you.  And a partner to brainstorm with- fantastic! Maybe the partner will be able to help with your current wip problems.

Like Holly, I, too, use computer word count. Kathleen insists on it. The number of chapters depends on the story. My chapters generally run about 20 pages and I have 12-13. As Holly says, don't sweat that. What's important is a strong story with characters readers will root for and a good plot.

Holly- Our youngest daughter came home this weekend, so it was a very good one.  She and her sister (our middle dtr) went shopping for bridesmaid dresses--they're both in oldest dtr's wedding at the end of August. Such fun. Smile Smart to get wood in early. That way it has plenty of time to cure. Have fun with your niece!

Michele- I had no idea you got a new editor. Smile

What fun for you!

Holly and Ann! Having the kids (dds or nieces) over is eciting. I didn't know you had a wedding in your future too Holly! Youngest dd brought the baby over yesterday (I may have mentioned that yesterday and am repeating myself). It was her (baby's) first visit! Lots of snugglies and huggies and smoochies involved!

Thanks for the chapter/page/wc info. I thought as much with the word count, but didn't know if it affected the computer page count vs published page count though. My chapters are running 12-18 pages each and I still have just 10-12 chapters? What is your usual ending word count on a finished ms to allow 20 pages with 10 chapters? Mine will have to come in at 177 pages and still stay within a reasonable wc (which still, @ 177 pgs puts it finishing @ 60,711). And this is before any editing, layering, or fine tuning.

I'm hoping to finish the last few pages before noon Wednesday, which is when I leave to go with dd to take baby to dr, and then meet cp at 3 pm :)

And dh is determined to 'get rid of me' today. Sending me to town (county assessor's ofc) to look into some property his dad wants to try to buy, so he can move out here, too. The only problem with this particular property is-- my aunt has also been asking me to get the same info and I did, but then I lost it. Now my fil wants dh to get the same info for him! ARGH! I will be right smack in the middle and I just hate that! My aunt will be furious, and the woman holds grudges like a snapping turtle on a bull dog's snout!

(FYI- it is said that a snapping turtle will hold on until lightening slashes, and that is supposedly 'the only' way to make it let go- without killing it and cutting its mouth off the dogs' nose!)

Happy Monday!

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to be like Holly and embrace Monday, although it's a bit tough today since this is my first day back after a week off! Anyway, I thought I'd pop in and say hello, and also address Lisa's questions. Though I'm really just repeating what Ann and Holly already said--don't sweat the formatting stuff too much. Our word count is 55-60k words by computer count. Chapter length can vary--there's no hard rule on that. Although, you might want to try to keep the chapter lengths even (i.e., avoid having one chapter at three pages and the next at thirty). And, Lisa, I think you can skip the query stage and just go ahead and send in a partial (synopsis and first three chapters). Mention I said so, if you want!

I hope that helps!

I'd also like to give a big Woot! to our two RITA finalists, Linda and Cindi! What fantastic news to come back to! Smile (We need a partying emoticon!)

Have a great week, all!

Thank you so much

Johanna! I appreciate all the help I can get as this will be my first American submission and I'm very excited about it. I knew your name was familiar, and then I read your sig line and it clicked (I think). I was able to listen to the American podcast last year, I believe your were on it? (sorry if I have that wrong) I'm still learning names, and sooo much about this genre, and I love to read these books. I will keep in mind to mention you offered this advice. Thanks for that. I hope to sub it by, or before, August. If you don't mind my asking, should I send it to anyone in particular then? And welcome back to work.

Thanks so much again Holly! You're a true gem! Haven't emailed you yet. Dh decided I needed to take dgd to fun park, where her soon-to-be uncle is GM, and let her play for a while with her mommy. Lol So I stopped and picked up his baby and fiance, my dd, to go along. Unfortunately- he was in meetings the whole time we were there.

Lisa,

Hey, anytime!  Sounds like fun at the fun park.  I had my 5yo niece yesterday...we made bread.  Had a blast!  She told her mom the other day that if she moved out of her house, she was coming to live here.  She claimed the guestroom as hers, and spent the day going to "her" room!  LOL

Love little ones!

Happy Tuesday

As Monday wasn't so happy. We woke up in the dark to find we had no power/heat. Brrr... Seems a nearby transformer blew during the high winds and sleet, caught the pole on fire, and brought down some lines. Took three crews a few hours to cut down the part of the pole that was still on fire and get everything functioning again. Until then it was cold going. Today we have heat/power and I'm enjoying a nice hot cup of tea as I write this. *G*

Ann, congrats on the upcoming wedding. You'll have so much fun with it. Maybe there'll be a story in there somewhere for you. *G*

Lisa62, so glad to hear your ms is moving along for you. Good luck getting those last few pages completed.

Johanna, great seeing you here. Hope you had a wonderful week off. And I agree, having two HAR RITA finalists is wonderful!!! I read both books and really enjoyed them.

Holly, so glad you had a great time making bread with your niece. Those moments go by so quickly.

Okay, I'm off. Decided to enter a contest and see what feedback I get on my revised first chapter. *G* So I suppose I should reread it for the millionth time. LOL. Then I'll have to hit the send button. I love these contests where you can do everything from registering to paying from your laptop. This is so my style.

Happy writing,

Jennifer

Hi again!

Lisa, yep, that was me and Kathleen on the AR podcast! Boy, that was a new experience for me. Kathleen and I had to sit in a room and start talking about AR books, as if it it were an ordinary conversation--except there were these big microphones in front of us, a colleague prompting us with questions and an audio editor standing in a corner. I was so aware of every "um" I uttered! Thank goodness for sound editing. Despite the awkwardness of the setup, I think our podcast turned out all right! Surprised

You can address your submission to Kathleen, although any one of the AR editors may evaluate it.

Thanks for the welcome-back-to-work messages. One week off and my manuscript piles (to be revised and to be line edited) seem to have multiplied while I was gone! Yikes!

Have a terrific day, everyone!

Mornin' ladies! So nice

Mornin' ladies!

So nice to see you Johanna! I'd think it would be daunting talking into a microphone. I for one, hate to hear myself talk. Was so glad when answering machines came with a generic voice. I screen a lot of calls and I'd loathe the sound of my voice. We always love it when you pop in.

Lisa, I didn't know how to answer your question, so I just didn't. But I do try and make my chapters around 20 double-spaced pages. Sometimes it works out and other times it doesn't. But I'm told varying chapter lengths are okay and encouraged.

Jennifer, so glad your power is restored. I hate losing power, but it's worse when it's cold out. We didn't have anything like that here--that I know of anyhow.

My daughter and her first boyfriend broke up. She was pretty upset and heart broken. He had his ten year old sister tell her. Chicken. She cried for a little, licked her wounds and muttered boys suck. haha. She's fine now. I assured her this is the first of many, many boys.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Rae

weekends

Johanna- Thanks for stopping by and answering Lisa's questions. You're so cool. Smile Like you, we're all doing happy dances for Linda and Cindi. Wahoo!! I hope you enjoyed your week off... and don't envy you all the work piled on your desk. Wink

Holly- It was really fun. Smile I have the most beautiful, fun, smart daughters.Smile You and your niece had so much fun with the bread. No wonder she loves her auntie.

Lisa 62- What a pain! Too bad your mil and fil can't get the info themselves. Why you?

Jennifer F- I hate when the power goes out! Glad yours is back on. Good luck with the contest!
