So, the Dream Team has another published author in it's midst. Leeanne Kenedy just sold to Silhouette Romantic Suspense!!!!
I'm WAY too excited, because she's waited a long, long time and has smiled graciously while a number of her friends and critique partners sold to Harlequin. Now it's her turn!!!!!!!!
I'm going to drag her over here so she can tell us about her book (and explain why she hasn't put up any blog posts yet...ahem). But seriously, I read this book and it's awesome! She's going to be a fantastic addition to the SRS team.
So folks, help me with congrats!! Time to celebrate with virtual champagne!!!

Fabulous news Leanne,
Fabulous news Leanne, Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing Lori
Add some SPICE to your life.
Yep, it's true!
I think Lori is more excited than I am! Then again, I'm still too dazed to process--I don't think I remember a word I said during "the call", which makes it hard to give details LOL!
The book is called Sweet Survival (but the title might change...) and I submitted it to SRS more than a year ago. I got what I like to call a "rejectivism", meaning it was rejected but the letter gave me revision suggestions in case I wanted to resubmit. Which I did. And got ANOTHER revision request, this time having to cut about 70 pages because of the new word count guidelines.
I sent that third version in July and then waited...and waited...and 5 months later I get a call saying SRS wants to acquire the story!
Seriously, that's all I remember. Everything after that is a blur!

thanks and a blurb
Thanks for all the congrats, everyone! I'm still too shellshocked to think clearly. I had to spend the evening tutoring someone in paragraph writing and I have no idea what i taught the poor girl, I was too busy wondering if I'd imagined that whole phone call
Kathy, I'm not sure when the book will come out, probably in 2009. I have some more revisions to do but it shouldn't be as tough as all the other revisions I did before I got to this point.
This is the blurb for the story:
Six months ago Samantha Dawson faced the wrath of a madman and survived. Now, living in isolation under a new identity, the last thing she expects is to find sexy FBI agent Blake Corwin on her doorstep, asking for her help and stirring up desires she’d believed to be dead and buried...

Congrats Leeanne
It'll be an autobuy for me (because I always buy my team-mates books
) but also because your blurb sounds VERY interesting
You'll have noticed I read quite a lot of SIMs/SRS
We'll have to have a DREAM TEAM party
BTW Lori, Leeanne has actually blogged a book for the Dream Team
Your captain noticed, even if you didn't

Not sure what the Dream Team is...
I am new to the board and not quite sure what the Dream team is. I'm thinking a group that supports each other while waiting to be published(?)
I saw the news and I wanted to add my congrats. It must feel awesome Leeanne to have your hard work pay off. To write romance is hard enough but to add suspense-you must be a very talented lady and I can't wait to read your book! Angel66

BTW Lori, Leeanne has actually blogged a book for the Dream Team
I forgot. It was Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Okay, so I take back the slam about her lack of a book count. Now maybe I can get her to accept her pending request to be my friend. It's embarrassing to have my bestest CP publicly snubbing me in the Harlequin community.
Lori
And Angel, the Dream Team is a group of both readers and writers who are participating in the 100,000 Book Challenge. Check it out under "Book Challenge" above. It's a lot of fun and you don't have to be a member of a team to participate. Just read books and tell us what you think. It's a great way to meet people!

i did so post a review!
See, Lori, our team captain has pointed out that I indeed posted something! I also have a stack of reviews that I've just been too lazy to put up, so I'll have to do that this weekend to prove my dream team worth
Oh, and I had no idea about those pending friend requests. I'm an idiot when it comes to this blog stuff, figured friends would just magically appear--who knew you had to click on "my friends" to get things done LOL!

Yes, here on the Harlequin
Yes, here on the Harlequin blogs, there are no one-sided love affairs. Both parties have to concur that they are, indeed, friends to make that connection.
Now as far as the books....I'm sure there's plenty of unrequited love out there.

Jen! Honestly, if it weren't for you and Lori making sure my revisions didn't suck, I wouldn't be here right now. You guys rock!
And Bron, thanks for coming by--I still lurk on the Desirables loop often and haven't forgotten about you guys.
Angel, it does feel good to have all the hard work pay off. I wrote my first romance when I was twelve and since then I've amassed a pile of rejection letters so high it's almost funny. Now I can spit on the pile or something lol

Dream Team, Adding friends.
I need to be part of the Dream Team as I have had a dream to be published for years...
Good thing you guys posted about adding friends-I saw a request from Sapphire flash on my screen and I didn't know what to do. (I have a friend! Woo Hoo!)
I think there must be an interesting story behind the screen name Fake Frenchie (?)

Not so interesting
I am a fake Frenchie, as I live in France but am a naturalized citizen. I was born an American, and now am an ex-pat bi-national.
See not so interesting.
Now, you should ask my dearest Gnat how she got that name.

Wow, I'm jealous. . . 'course, I do know what to do about it -- pull out the old ms and get to work on it (again). . .
I'm like Sadhbh, I automatically buy anything my team members write, but it really does sound like something I will thoroughly enjoy reading.

Fake Frenchie
I think your living in France is pretty cool as I like to live vicariously through others. To leave one country and become a citizen in another is pretty adventurous. I have to admit I have only been to Calais. I was stationed in England for 5 years but didn't travel much out of Great Britain as I was so enthralled by England and Scotland I didn't feel the pull to see other places.
For Gnat to explain her nickname it has to be PG-13 right?

FF is actually the only one who calls me Gnat
when she sends me emails they're addressed to Gnat Gnat
FF that P.S. was definitely sniping at me and the fact that I haven't blogged since last weekend
ppsst! Lori "in its midst" doesn't take an apostrophe, you might like to edit that out
I
also live in France, I'm Irish married to a Frenchman, unlike FF I'm
not naturalized, simply because the paperwork is too complicated and as
a citizen of another EU country I don't need to be
So FF gave me the nickname because ...

Because…… ?
Just in case you didn't realize, you didn't finish that sentence. And I was definitely NOT sniping. You are just feeling guilty and trying to foist that guil off on me. Added to your decided tendency to paranoia, you comprend de traverse or would that be à traverse?
