Tagged.. and so are you.

I read a number of blogs and this has been going around but it was the first time after reading I was "Tagged."

Seven interesting things about me -

1. I've gone to by 7th Grade I went to 8 different schools in 5 different states.  It is funny when I try to figure out where I was in what grade.

2. I have a character named after me in an episode of SG1.  News that really cheered me up when most of my online friends were at GateCon and I was at home.

3. The first "fandom" I was active in online was Voyager. Remember playing on Bulletin Boards and reading fanfic even helped "beta" read stories for friends.

4. I've gone away to meet online friends - including Washington, DC - Vancouver, BC - Blackpool, UK.  One was a fun week outside of DC with friends from all over the US and the UK when I played in the Voyager fandom and the last two were with the SG1 fandom, two different SG1 conventions.

5.  I was a page in the Vermont Legislature when I was in 8th Grade.  It was my first "job" and I lived away from home for 1/2 the week.  I learned that filing bills is not fun, senators and representatives liked to send jokes to each other, and how many pages could fit in a VW bug.

6. My family will say that I voluneer for too many things.  At our eldest Bar Mitzvah after party I was given a Tee "Just Say No to Volunteering."

7. Our family is currently a 3 continent, 3 country family spanning US, Israel and Australia.  Try figure out those timezones for calling.

If you read this... guess what, tag you're next 7 interesting things about you.

Re: Tagged, and so are You

1.     Didn't go onto college until after serving in   the Marines, where I learned Iraq sure was different!

2.     Found out my then-wife was pregnant with our second son the DAY I went for my vascectomy!

3.  I broke my right foot at a pool party we hosted.  Was so bombed, that after breaking my foot, couldn't feel the break and continued to BBQ chicken on the grill and light a bonfire even later than that.

4.  Decided once to play Goalie in Ice hockey and wear NO protective gear underneath my uniform!  Owwwww!!!

5.  One of my M8's wanted me to help him rob a convenience store once!

6.  Am a fan of Harlequin and Imprint paperbacks.

Ok, my turn....

  1. I am 2nd generation, born and raised in Los Angeles CA (you have no idea how rare that is).
  2. I went to one Elementary schoo, one Junior High, and one High School.
  3. I live in the same house I grew up in (44 years and counting).
  4. The only fandom I have activly been involved in, is Highlander.  I used to only go to conventions in LA, but in the past few years I have traveled to Vancouver (twice), Philadelphia and Memphis.
  5. Growing up in the 1970's, we were the only house on the block, that had 2 parents in the house (my original parents, no steps). Single parent families are nothing new.
  6. I went to theater school (technical theater), and have worked on several productions, but I havent done any theater work in the past 10 years or son.
  7. I may be the only person in Hollywood that doesnt have a screen play in my back pocket.

Got Books?

My turn

1. I adore MASH. I own all 11 seasons and I watch them all the time.

2. I like to travel to odd landmarks. I once flew from Atlanta to Omaha for the express purpose of seeing the world's largest ball of twine in Cawker City, Kansas.

3. I took my dream trip to Europe two years ago and now I can't wait to go back.

4. I refuse to pay for cable/satellite. I refuse to pay to find out nothing is on that I want to see.

5. I love sports especially Clemson sports. My mother says that my father and I are obsessed. She's only partially right.

6.  I'm grateful that I have no children when I see kids misbehaving in stores and other public places. Ditto for being single when I see misbehaving spouses in other places.

7. This isn't really a secret, but books and words are my passion. I love to read romances and histories. When I write, I typically combine the two into historical romance.

Thats it for me!
