I swear this house is going to send me to the poor house.
I had a plumber out this morning.......and I almost had that credit card paid off
Then when that was over, I walked up and got my taxes done.....at least I will have a semi-decent tax return in abut 2 weeks.

Tell me about it...
First we had to have a plumber out for a leak and ended up repiping the house. Paid that off and had a short break before the air conditioner/heating system died. JUST paid that off and now we've had to reroof. Yikes! I don't know HOW we'll pay that one off before the time expires so I expect some will be going on a credit card.

The trials
and tribulations of owning a home. If it's not one thing it's something else. Our heater is on it's last leg. My husband did a temporary fix to get us through this year but we know a new one is will have to be put in before next year. I just doled out $650 for a new starter on my car. If it's not house or cars it's one of the animals isn't it? Thursday my husband is having day surgery and had to pay $1,000 co pay. Glad we have insurance don't know what we'd pay then. Sorry we're all dishing out money but seems like when one thing happens everything hits at once.

I know what you mean....
Last year, it was the water heater...I bought a new one which was $800....then it was another $1,300 to move the the thing outside. It turns out that it is illegal to have water heaters in the house...something about carbon monoxide. The water heater has been inside for the 40 or so years i lived in this house.
So they had to route the gas pipes outside before they could install the heater.
Then later last year, my doggie got real sick.....we spendt all kinds of money trying to save him....we still had to put him down.

Water heater
It's illegal to have them inside? Hmmm... that is scary as mine is inside too!
The D2K Paranormal Junkies 2008 Challenge
that is what I was told
The installer said that the city inspector would not approve it, if he installed the new heater indoors.
I have lived in this house all my life...I guess laws, regulations change....but it has always been in the service porch....they are worried about carbon monoxide ......who knows....maybe he just wanted to milk me for more money.

All of my saved money is going in to closing costs, appliance buying, and rent until my lease is up in my apartment. I guess its a good thing I have a year warrantee where they will fix anything that needs fixing.. Hopefully my savings will have enough in it by the time thats up, because I know afterwards is when everythings going to break!
