Goals for JuNoWriMo

Good question Cat! This is going to be more of an informal JuNo. :) Here at eHar, we're really big on the Build Your Own WriMo. Just want to finish a project that's been kicking your butt? Interested in getting a new start? Trudging through a middle? It can all be done, set a goal and post your progress. :) Plus, we're going to be posting our Favorite Lines of the day, too, if y'all would like. Those are always so inspiring.

I haven't picked my project  yet, but I'll think of something.

Hello

Hello Everyone!

Here is my goal - write for at least 2 hrs every day.

I'd like to say a word count but since its the time that is my biggest issue, that's what I'm going to judge things by for the moment. I want to get this story rolling so I can submit it for the contest coming up for Presents/Modern. :-)

Happy writing!

I'd rather write than decorate the kitchen, what an excellent excuse to leave it a bit longer!

Thank you.

Dee, sign me up. I want to complete a manuscript for the Presents challenge.

Editted insert: Guess I should put in a daily target: will aim for 2,000 words per day but be estatic if I can write 1,000 words per day EVERY day.

thanks!  I think I would like to set a "realistic" goal for me...

**I hereby declare that I will write a minimum of 200 words per day throughout the month of June.  Therefore, on July 31st I should have a minimum of 6200 words written.  Cat"

I'm in....

Okay, committing to this. Two hours a day is do-able. I really need to make my goal to finish a rough draft all the way from opening to the end, without the daily morphing of hero and heroine.

I'm sticking to this one this time... and... and...maybe i"ll even...(gasp!)post something! UndecidedI need to learn how to share and grow a thick hide.

Ttt....

you should consider joining our writers challenge.  It is a non-threatening way to begin sharing your writing!  The word counts are low enough that you can get it done in minimal time.  Drop by and visit with us!

I have started a new project. Getting to know the characters, I have a setting and a rough idea. My goal is to get at least half of a rough draft done.

Okay, I'm in too!

Sounds good - I need a kick in the writing pants!

My goal for now is 1000 words per day. I have a novella to finish and a re-write to accomplish!

Good luck everyone!

Sign me up!

I've been coming up with any excuse not to start writing and need something like this just to make me get going. My main goal is just to actually write something. I keep saying I'm going to, and then let things get in the way. Maybe this will make me accountable.

I'm in..

if someone directs the way. I'm still learning my way around. I have set my personal goals at 5k a day (I've hit it a couple of times) but mostly I end up with 2-4k a day. I'm working on a couple of stories, one a romantic thriller and one a science fiction. I'm waitng on those for first part of edits, so wrote an historical short story.

I would like to write one for presents contest as well.

I have a few questions. Do I post word count or actual words? And how do I attach this to my favorites on my Harlequin sign in? I'll keep trying but would appreciate any help to become more knowledgeable on navigating Harlequin's site.

Thanks,

Leona Bushman

Ooh, I want to play!

2000 words a day for me.

2000 words for me, too!

Desperately need this...

I need something

I haven't written in ages...so I'm going to half copy Nicole and pledge one hour a day in July.

Hey, I'm in

You all are killing me , the goals are outstanding..  If I say I'll write x time for each day I'll be out before I start. I made it to 30 k in Nov. so my goal for July is 40k. (really scary for me) Some days in Nov. I made it to 2 k and beyond, most days I'm right below 2k.  but I know in November there were quite a few 0 words for the day.

I know we posted the amount of words for the day (or every few days if you can't get online everyday). Not the words themselves Dee trusted us with the Honor system.Laughing That's still standing for this tme around right Dee?

So my goal for July is 40 k and I've got the shakes hoping I'll make it.

Good luck everyone!

You must first be a believer if you're going to be an achiever.

Out of the shadows...

OK. I've lurked in the shadows long enough. Time for commitment. Your numbers are scaring me also, but I'm in. I've been tossing an Intrigue plot around in my notebooks, so this is a great time to see how it flies. 1000 to 2000 per day should get me halfway there.

Hey Gang, Yup, I'm trusting

Hey Gang,

Yup, I'm trusting you on your honor. (Plus, if you fake your stats, I guarantee you, the guilt will flay your skin as others congratulate you.) So, word count only.

However, often we do share favorite lines for the day. That's always a lot of fun.

Hope that clears it up! :)

I may live to regret this,

I may live to regret this, but count me in.  The fact that I have over 100 audio files to transcribe for a client and a 700-mile round trip at the weekend to collect our newest addition to the family (a second Springer Spaniel rescue dog - lovely 10-y-o girl called Red) are minor obstacles, but I'm sure I can work round them somehow!  Dictaphone for the car journey perhaps...?

Thanks, Dee.  I love having the accountability!  (Except when it's humiliating! Laughing)

I have several projects going right now, and I am going to National, so I'll commit to 1,000 words. With any luck, by the end of the month, it'll even out to the right number!

So I guess I'm in, too. I've already surpassed my tiny goal of "at least one sentence every day" on the work in progress. This is the one I was going to write for NaNo 2 years ago and haven't done much with ever since, due to working on other projects. I'm also doing illustrations for a children's book and starting 50/90 in a few days. (50/90 = write 50 songs in 90 days, beginning July 4th.) Insane. Right? Oh, well, there's nothing like a deadline to make me write. Cool  And with me, one sentence usually leads to another, so this should work well for me.

Have fun, everyone! Thanks for the JuNo room, Dee!

I'm in.  Need the goal and

I'm in.  Need the goal and something to focus on.  Am aiming for 5,000 words per day.  Can I do this?  I hope so.  I'm going big or going home.  I've got a line I'm focused on.

Checking in everybody.  Met

Checking in everybody.  Met my first goal of five thousand and am pretty proud of myself.  Am also the type that said I want to do this and never do.  Am aiming for Supperomance.  The surprising thing was that this is not as easy as it looks.  I thought five thousand no problem.  Have had the idea bouncing in my head for a really long time, my characters are now shouting at me to get this written and surprised myself by actually accomplishing my goal.  Hope everyone is reaching their goals too.

I'm in

Rewriting my November NaNo novel.  I'm 14,000 into it, and want to hit at least 70,000 before I leave on vacation on the 24th.  That works out to: 2,700 a day.  I think I can, I think I can...

a bit late...

OK I'm a tiny bit late since it's allready the second but I would like to pleadge five hundred words a day.  I've already written my five hundred for the last two days so I guess I am doing ok so far!  Hello to everyone by the way I am brand new and am very excited to be doing this.  I do think we should write in our favorite lines for the day, sounds like a brilliant idea and love to hear all the other lines coming from other writers!

Good Luck to everyone!

Oh yes...

Should probably write in my favorite line of the day:

A wish of Irish luck to all the women of Denver…they were going to need it.

Cheers!
