Today, my July Special Edition, Your Ranch or Mine? will be released. (okay, you can’t see but I’m turning cartwheels…and these, my friends, are Olympic quality cartwheels!)
To me, there’s little that beats the thrill of seeing a book I’ve written on the shelves in a local bookstore, grocery store or WalMart. Could you do be a favor and let me know if you spot it? You don’t have to buy it (although that’d be wonderful) or even scout it out today…but next time I post I’d appreciate it if you’d let know where you saw it.
Okay now that we’ve got that out of the way…back to the blog.
I'm a quote junkie. I admit it. I have inspiring words to the left of my computer. If I look to my right I have some more. What I like about quotes is in a few short words they motivate and inspire.
I think most of us strive to be the best we can be...but it doesn't hurt to be reminded.
Here are a few favorites of mine:
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act but a habit. Aristotle
This thing we call failure is not the falling down; it's the staying down. Mary Pickford
Each of us makes a difference. It is from numberless acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. John F. Kennedy
I'm asking for your favorite quote(s). Why?
Because I need more to add to my collection....AND because I'll be picking a winner from everyone who comments. That person will win a copy of my July Silhouette Special Edition Your Ranch or Mine?!

quotes
Hi Cindy, here are 2 of my favorites:
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle - Plato
All things excellent are as difficult as they are rare - Baruch Spinoza, 17th century Jewish philosopher
quotes
Saw your book at Target and bought it.
My favorite quotes aren't inspirational, but I enjoy them
"Cats are smarter than dogs. You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow." - Jeff Valdez
"People that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life." - Faith Resnick
This one is kind of long
NO is a wall, but YES is a gate;
YES lets you go, and NO makes you wait.
Since I have the choice, then the better, I guess,
Is to tie down my NO'S and let loose every YES!
Don't enter me in the drawing as I already have your book.

Congrats, by the way!
My favorite quote, my senior quote actually, but still holds true to this day, is..."If you are really desperate, you can get anything you want...somehow."- Mike Edwards
It's my favorite because of the simplistic truth of it. It's become a creed I've lived by. If I really wanted it, I would get it.

Hi Cindy,
My favourite quote is opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in coveralls and looks like hard work.
Hi Cindy my one is; "Think
Hi Cindy my one is; "Think positively and masterfully, with confidence and faith, and
life becomes more secure, more fraught with action, richer in
achievement and experience." - Eddie Rickenbacker -

My Favorite quotes...
the two thatcome to mind right away are...
"There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls" - George Carlin
"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education" - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Oh, and Congrats Shelli!!!
Hi Cindy
I really like this one from Jean Cocteau :
Poetry is indispensable - if I only knew what for.
and this one from Albert Einstein :
Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
Book sighting at Target! I saw it, too!
A commencement address by Dr. Thomas Crawford to a graduating class at the University of Louisville:
"God gives us two ends to use.
On one you sit; with one you muse.
Success depends on which you choose.
Heads - you win; tails - you lose."
Another favorite by an unknown author with which I heartily agree:
"The decision to have a baby -- it's momentous. It's deciding forever to go around with your heart outside your body."
And here's another by Robert Burns that I like because almost everyone knows the first part, but far fewer people know the second half:
"The best laid plans o' mice and men gang aft agley." (Often misquoted as "often go awry".)

Shelli,
Were you ever able to email her with your contact info? If not, did you actually go to her website and fill out the contact form there? I don't think anyone is monitoring this post any longer, so you might try email @ cindy.kirk.com or cindy.kirk @ cindy. kirk. com (without the spaces, of course).
