Looking forward to seeing everybody's efforts for the February
challenge. I decided to wait and start from the new books that arrived
yesterday, so I started with the Stephanie Laurens The Taste of
Innocence, and heavens only knows where I'll end up - if memory serves
me correctly in 2006 I ran it for over two months and made it up over
two hundred and fifty books
It's a great way of dragging books from old TBRs that otherwise may not see the light of day until the NEXT millenium
So where are you starting, and how far do you hope to go?

February Challenge?
Well, when I saw this I thought maybe I should rethink what book I choose next. I didn't try to do this last year. I just finished The Big Heat but none of the books I was going to choose from connect with this!! Thinking, thinking what can I find in the TBR pile, old, new or an order that just arrived today! You'll see how I did when I post my next book.
Take care, happy reading,

Mini challenge
This is going to be interesting. I didn't get the email until this afternoon, so I guess I'll have to start with the book that I'm reading right now and go from there; I'm nearly finished Julie Miller's The Duke's Covert Mission... should be interesting to see where I go from this one. I think that I'm going to have to do some scanning of my TBR lists. Well, D'uh!

Well, I have four books linked ....
three finished and on to the fourth .... then I'm going to have fun for a few hours playing with my TBR piles!
I love this challenge .... gets me reading and takes care of some oldies in the TBR .... that's a winning combo for me!

????, can't find a book that follows the lead!
Can you believe, with all the books I have in my large TBR pile I cannot find anything that follows Feeling the Heat by Rhonda Nelson, The Big Heat by Jennifer LaBrecque! I've searched & searched so am just going to jump into an anthology with three stories & three authors & hope it will lead to my next book.
Good luck to everyone else trying to do this.
Take care, happy reading,

LOL...
Donna I guess the trick is to pick titles / authors with common words / names.
I have 6 possibles, but I think that I'm going to end up going with Julia London's The Hazards of Hunting a Duke ~ three reasons: the authors' names (Julie / Julia), both have Duke in the title and it's the first in a series! How can I go wrong?

Donna .....
Lorie said she'd allow "the" "and" etc if it was hard to match up ..... so I'm sure you can find something that will work

With review/contest books...
I'm just not sure how this mini challenge will work for me. But we'll see what happens! For now, I'm cheating and going with a series by an author. Easy links!

Sounds like a fun challenge. I need to finish up the book I started two weeks ago and get on a roll with this challenge!

DonnaM - HEAT
You might try Cavanaugh Heat by Marie Ferrarella and then go with something by the same author after that to keep the chain going.
I am starting the challenge
I am starting the challenge with the last four books of the Mission Impassioned series even tho they have different authors. Lori oked it as connecting. With those four I have a possible 12 books, but i'm still looking.

I am starting with what I am
I am starting with what I am reading right now... Dark Side of the Moon by Sherrilyn Kenyon, then following it with Dark Seduction by Kathleen Korbel, after that, who knows.

I'm in the "not sure how this will work for me" group. I'm in the middle of writing my 4th Blaze, and when I write, I have to be particular about what I'm reading. But I'll give it a try!

I finally decided I wanted to keep the Stephanie Laurens
in reserve in case Tempted arrives in time for this challenge, so I'm going to start with the latest Nalini Singh instead
Of
course this means that the books I had ready to blog now go down the
list so I have about fifteen books or so to read before I'm ready to
blog again
My list of one book leads to another is now up to eighty-five
Do you think I'll get them all read by the end of February?

LOL...
Oh Sadhbh ~ 85 books for the rest of the month? My money's on you... and I promise not a word!
I've got up to four or five, but I haven't worked any more on it than that. But now that I'm doing MUCH better with my TBR (organizing yet again) it should be a lot easier.

Proud at 25
Well, sadhbh I was happy that I found 25 and then stopped since I figure that is more than I can complete for February. I look forward to and root for you to get your 85! You are my inspiration each month as I try to get close to half of your numbers.

My plan
I have already read Sucker Bet by Erin McCarthy - next is Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie - then Beauty and the Bet by Isabel Sharpe. I can probably do this all month.
Tammy
set aside
I've got 13 set aside. There are more and I can keep going if need be. I've already reviewed two, Rogue's Valley by Kathleen Creighton and Texas Baby by Kathleen O'Brien. I am now reading Beyond Breathless by Kathleen O'Reilly. After this I will be veering of the Kathleen and going with Breathless. This is a great way to delve into the TBR pile. I think all but 2 came from the TBR pile. Mind you some of these books may be tentative because I did change my mind and rearanged the order 3 times in two days. And then I changed it again this morning and took one book out of the line up.

July's MEMBER OF THE MONTH
Changed my mind
I have too many library books due back next week, I really want to read and their titles will not fit this challenge. Plus, i am still reading the Blaze series in order, so I can't do this mini-challenge after all.
Tammy
For those of you who planned their reading and it doesn't fit
don't worry
For
those of us who were feeling "slumpish", it's a great way of getting
out of the slump, because you get to rediscover your TBR from a
different pov and sometimes that's all you need
It also means you drag books you might never have read out from the pile, just because the name is good

Yes ......
that's exactly why I like this challenge .... I'm reading books that might have languished for a good long while ... when we did this in 2006, I read 29 books that July! ... awesome for me ..... I know I won't make that this month (spending too much time here online LOL) ... but I'm going to try to read at least 20 for the month ...

re: this month's challenge
It's a lot of fun reading everyone's experiences with this challenge.
I've been crazy busy this week with academic readings so I haven't been reading much for this month yet, but I just picked up The Devil's Footprints by Amanda Stevens. It's fantastic so far but I worried I messed myself up for this challenge...I can't think of any other books I have with Devil or Footprints (or even Prints or Foot...hmmm maybe I can get creative and go for "Prince" which sounds like Prints?) or authors named Stevens...maybe Amanda, if I hunt my shelves...
So it's good to know I can fall back on "The" if I need to! But it would be embarassing to do that with my first book of the month
So far I've managed to make it a main word or a name
now all I have to do is find the rest of the books
Of course
there are alternative solutions, but the last time I went down that
road, I ended up with a potential four hundred books for the challenge
and four hundred books in one month is beyond even my capabilities

February Reading
I'm going to continue with the series I was already reading. My books will be: The Texan's Business Proposition by Peggy Moreland, The Texan's Secret Past, The Texan's Contested Claim, Tex Appeal-Kimberly Raye, Alison Kent, Cara Summers, The Cop by Cara Summers.
I hope this counts. I have a few others if I get that far.
www.colorfulpen.blogspot.com
So far I've got up to...
...six books listed that are 'for sures'. I'm trying to do it using the words in the title, but I did have to go using the author's name in one or two instances.
Question: some of the subsequent books that I'm looking at, the carryover word is not exactly the same. For example, I've got Suzanne Enoch's A Touch of Minx, but one of the followup books I've listed is Dinah McCall's Touchstone. Does that count? Or would Dangerous in one title and Danger in a followup title be okay? *sigh* Yeah, sometimes I wonder about myself!

Kathy .........
I asked this very question over on the Mini-Challenge thread for Lorie ... there's no answer yet, but I'm sure when we did this mini-challenge in 2006 that was allowed ...... and so were names that sounded the same but were spelt differently, like Dailey, Daly, Daley
