I spoke to Cindi Finneran, one of the driectors, and she told me a little about this event. One thing she told me is that Sharon Sala is completely responsible for putting this together. Wow, what a woman. Not only that but Sharon will offer one of the auction awards of the night-
Sharon Sala, New York Times Best Selling Author will be on hand to auction off a chance for the winners’ name to appear in her next book.
Finneran and Reeves spent a great deal of time documenting the men who model and their annual competition to achieve the title of Mr. Romance during the annual convention. In another show of support for the filmmakers, CJ Hollenbach will auction off a Harlequin worthy kiss to the winner during the event.
On Saturday, March 22nd -Reels, Rogues and Romance event- Norman filmmakers Cindi Finneran and Charley Reeves will premiere the trailer for their first film; a documentary about the romance novel industry.
A typical day begins with morning meditations, followed by breakout meetings with topics ranging from Vampires to Old Hollywood, then wrapped up with nightly Balls with magical themes. “Trekkies have nothing on Romance novel enthusiasts,” says director Cindi Finneran. “This crowd reads, writes, dresses up – for one week a year, they turn their romantic fantasies into a reality.”
I am so excited about this event! And the fee to go is small. They are trying to get the money needed to go to Pittsburgh in April to finish the film.
