March 16: Why I Believe In Love by Ann DeFee

Love is the essence of our humanity. It transcends time and space. Poets, songwriters, authors and people brave enough to pen or sing a ditty have extolled it through the ages. It has the ability to break a heart or mend it. It can make us glad, or sad or downright giddy. It can make a grown man cry or a young girl dance with abandon. And as trite as it may sound, not only does love make the world go around, it's what makes the trip so much fun. So grab love with both hands and hang on, it's guaranteed to be a wild ride.

Here are some of the faces of love.

About Ann DeFee:

Long, long ago (really, it wasn't all that long ago) in a faraway land (actually, it was a small south Texas town — home of big hair, fast boats, lip-smacking barbecue and the world's biggest pecan), Ann started on that great voyage called life. After meeting and marrying her "Prince Charming" they embarked on a great adventure. Throughout the years they expanded the family to include two kids and a menagerie of four-legged friends ranging from dogs, to cats, to horses. And courtesy of the U.S. Air Force they homesteaded in twenty-three houses located in eighteen towns, nine states and two continents. Talk about living life to its fullest.

Despite the time she spent traipsing back and forth across the country, she managed to obtain two master's degrees — one in Political Science and one in Urban Planning. She's also a certified teacher and a certified land use planner. Now she spends her time dreaming up stories, playing tennis, walking the dog and generally having a good time. Instead of writing legally defensible land use plans, she gets to make up stuff — really good stuff!

Awwww
